  • Jets' Jaret Anderson-Dolan: On waivers

Winnipeg waived Anderson-Dolan on Wednesday, according to Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.

Anderson-Dolan had seven goals, 19 points and 30 PIM across 51 regular-season outings with AHL Manitoba in 2024-25. He also recorded an assist in seven regular-season appearances with the Jets before adding a goal and an assist across five outings during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. It seems Anderson-Dolan will start the season in the minors if he goes unclaimed, but the 26-year-old should be among Winnipeg's top call-up options.

  • Tyson Jost C | NSH

Predators' Tyson Jost: Claimed off waivers

Jost was claimed off waivers by Nashville from Carolina on Wednesday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Jost had four goals, nine points, 33 PIM and 46 hits across 39 regular-season outings with the Hurricanes in 2024-25. The 27-year-old is now projected to start the season in the NHL with Nashville, but it remains to be seen if Jost will be a part of the Predators' bottom six for their season opener against Columbus on Oct. 9 or if he'll begin the campaign as a healthy scratch.

  • Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Not an option Wednesday

Dorofeyev (lower body) isn't available for Wednesday's preseason game against Colorado, per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Dorofeyev had 35 goals and 52 points across 82 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. As long as he's healthy, the 24-year-old is likely to start the season in a middle-six capacity.

  • Jack McBain C | UTA

    Mammoth's Jack McBain: Making progress

McBain (undisclosed) took part in Wednesday's practice, per Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports.

McBain is making progress after being off the ice for a while during training camp. The 25-year-old had 13 goals, 27 points, 78 PIM and 291 hits in 82 outings with Utah in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Casey Mittelstadt: Rests minor injury Wednesday

Mittelstadt skipped Wednesday's practice to rest a minor lower-body issue, but he's expected to practice Thursday, head coach Marco Sturm told Scott McLaughlin of WEEI.

Mittelstadt had 15 goals and 40 points across 81 regular-season outings with Colorado and Boston in 2024-25. The 26-year-old is expected to start the season in a top-six capacity and as a member of Boston's second power-play unit.

  • Akil Thomas C | STL

Kings' Akil Thomas: Placed on waivers

Thomas was designated for waivers by the Kings on Wednesday.

Thomas was going to be hard-pressed to make the Kings' Opening Night roster, despite having played in 25 regular-season games for the club last year. In those outings, the Toronto native managed one goal, two assists and 20 shots while averaging 9:55 of ice time. Still, Thomas should be in line for a call-up at some point during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Glenn Gawdin C | ANA

    Kings' Glenn Gawdin: Waived Wednesday

Gawdin was put on waivers by LA on Wednesday.

Gawdin had 26 goals, 62 points and 57 PIM in 72 regular-season outings with AHL Ontario in 2024-25. Although he's found success in the minors, the 28-year-old has just 13 regular-season games worth of NHL experience and is likely to spend the vast majority of the upcoming campaign in the AHL.

  • Logan Brown C | LA

Kings' Logan Brown: Hits waiver wire

Brown was designated for waivers by the Kings on Wednesday.

Brown has played in 99 regular-season games at the NHL level for the Senators and Blues, so there could be some interest in picking him up off the waiver wire. In fact, with Corey Perry (knee) out until the end of October, it seems likely that Brown will be recalled from the minors, assuming he clears, ahead of Opening Night against the Avalanche on Oct. 7.

  • Oilers' Connor Clattenburg: Recalled by Edmonton

Clattenburg was recalled by the Oilers on Wednesday.

Clattenburg will join the Oilers ahead of Wednesday's preseason game against the Kraken. The 20-year-old forward will likely return to AHL Bakersfield after the contest.

  • J.T. Miller C | NYR

Rangers' J.T. Miller: Out against Devils

Miller (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Thursday's preseason matchup with New Jersey, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.

According to head coach Mike Sullivan, Miller is "trending the right way and I believe we'll get him back in a timely manner." Sullivan's comments certainly would seem to indicate that the team is expecting to have Miller in action for Opening Night against the Penguins on Oct. 7, though that hasn't been officially confirmed. If Miller does miss out, Mika Zibanejad looks poised to shift to center while Alexis Lafreniere moves up to the top line.
