Mason Shaw C | WPG
Mason Shaw: Eligible to sign with new club
Shaw wasn't given a qualifying offer from the Jets on Monday, making him an unrestricted free agent, per Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.
Shaw compiled 17 goals, 37 points, 114 PIM and a minus-21 rating across 72 outings with AHL Manitoba this past campaign. The 26-year-old was a fourth-round pick by the Wild in 2017, the team he made his last NHL appearance with in 2023-24.

Nicolas Roy C | COL
Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Heading to Toronto
Roy was traded to the Maple Leafs from the Golden Knights on Monday in exchange for Mitch Marner, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Roy spent the last six seasons in Vegas, most recently recording 15 goals, 16 assists, 72 hits, 47 blocked shots and 43 PIM over 71 regular-season appearances during the 2024-25 campaign. Marner was rumored to be on his way out of Toronto during the offseason, but the Maple Leafs got a decent return in Roy, who should be in the mix for a top-six role with his new team, though he was often a bottom-six center during his time with the Golden Knights.

Clark Bishop C | CGY
Flames' Clark Bishop: Earns two-way contract
Bishop signed a one-year, two-way contract with Calgary on Monday.
Bishop generated 19 goals and 38 points in 66 regular-season games for AHL Calgary in 2024-25. He played in six straight NHL games with the Flames from Jan. 23-Feb. 1, earning one goal, four shots on net, two blocked shots and eight hits. Bishop will probably spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

Philip Tomasino C | PHI
Philip Tomasino: Not qualified by Pittsburgh
Tomasino was not given a qualifying offer by the Penguins on Monday.
Considering the team acquired Tomasino via trade last year, the decision to let him walk is a little strange. In 50 regular-season outings with the Pens, the 23-year-old put up decent numbers with 11 goals and 12 assists and was often seen as a wing option to play alongside Evgeni Malkin. It's possible the team circles back when free agency opens Tuesday.
-
Connor Dewar C | PIT
Connor Dewar: Let go by Pens
Dewar wasn't given a qualifying offer by Pittsburgh on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent.
Dewar was previously in Toronto with Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, so the move to let him reach free agency comes as a bit of a surprise. In his 17 outings with Pittsburgh, the 26-year-old natural center notched four goals and three assists but lacked a role on the power play. As such, Dewar's fantasy value is somewhat limited, though he should have no problem securing a contract somewhere during the offseason.

Jake Leschyshyn C | BUF
Jake Leschyshyn: Parts ways with Rangers
Leschyshyn didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Rangers on Monday, making him an unrestricted free agent, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
Leschyshyn hasn't appeared in the NHL since the 2023-24 campaign and will have to test the open market during the offseason. He made 69 appearances with AHL Hartford last year and recorded 13 goals, 11 assists and 34 PIM.
-
Steven Lorentz C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Steven Lorentz: Inks three-year extension
Lorentz signed a three-year, $4.05 million contract with Toronto on Monday.
Lorentz chipped in eight goals, 19 points, 76 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and 199 hits across 80 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He will probably occupy a bottom-six role with the Maple Leafs in the 2025-26 campaign.

Vasiliy Ponomarev C | PIT
Penguins' Vasily Ponomarev: NHL rights remain with club
Ponomarev was given a qualifying offer from Pittsburgh on Monday.
An initial report indicated that Ponomarev was not going to be retained by the Penguins but it seems like that plan changed. The 23-year-old center is signed with KHL club Avangard Omsk for the next three seasons, so even if he does return to the NHL, it won't be any time soon.
-
Georgii Merkulov C | BOS
Bruins' Georgi Merkulov: Reaches agreement with Boston
Merkulov signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 with the Bruins on Monday.
Merkulov made six appearances for Boston last year and logged an assist, seven blocked shots, two hits and two PIM while averaging 13:44 of ice time. While he'll remain with the organization in 2025-26, he'll likely spend plenty of time in the minors.

Klim Kostin C | SJ
Klim Kostin: Headed for free agency
Kostin was not given a qualifying offer ahead of Monday's deadline.
Kostin played in 35 games for the Sharks this past season in which he recorded one goal, six assists and 111 hits while averaging 10:41 of ice time. With his departure from the Sharks, the 26-year-old winger will be looking to join his fifth NHL franchise, having previously played with the Blues, Oilers and Red Wings. He could also opt to continue his career overseas.
