  • Jets' Gabriel Vilardi: Opens scoring on power play

Vilardi scored a power-play goal on two shots and added three hits in Friday's 4-0 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Vilardi opened the scoring just 3:35 into the game, cashing in on Tyler Seguin's double-minor penalty for high-sticking. The 25-year-old Vilardi was a little slow out of the gates following an upper-body injury that cost him a month of action. He's ramped up now, earning a goal, an assist and seven shots on net over two games in the second round.

Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Avoids suspension

Roy was fined $7,812.50 on Friday for cross-checking Trent Frederic in Thursday's Game 2 versus the Oilers.

Roy's supplemental discipline hearing put him at risk of a suspension, but he won't end up missing any time for his actions. Look for him to center the Golden Knights' fourth line in Saturday's Game 3 as the series shifts to Edmonton.

  • Sharks' Thomas Bordeleau: Dealing with concussion

Bordeleau revealed that his previously undisclosed injury is a concussion, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports Friday.

Bordeleau made his NHL season debut April 13, but then missed the Sharks' final two games due to the injury. Although he was listed as day-to-day at the time, Bordeleau admitted he wasn't actually close to returning. Still, the 23-year-old is making progress, so perhaps he'll be okay for training camp. He had 14 goals and 38 points in 59 regular-season outings with AHL San Jose in 2024-25.

  • Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Traveling with team

Dorofeyev (undisclosed) will travel with the team to Edmonton ahead of Game 3, according to Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday.

Dorofeyev has missed three straight postseason outings and should be considered a game-time decision Saturday in Game 3. Dorofeyev had 35 goals and 17 assists across 82 regular-season appearances and had one goal and one assist in five playoff games before the injury. Look for Dorofeyev to return to the top line, alongside Jack Eichel and Mark Stone, should he be cleared to play against the Oilers.

  • Nicolas Roy C | COL

Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Having a hearing for cross-checking

Roy will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday for cross-checking the Oilers' Trent Frederic on Thursday.

Roy picked up a five-minute major for cross-checking, and a game misconduct in overtime. He will likely serve a suspension for his misdeed. Should Roy receive a suspension for Game 3 in Edmonton on Saturday, look for Alexander Holtz to enter the lineup.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Might return Saturday

Jankowski is trending in the right direction and could be an option for Game 3 versus Washington on Saturday after head coach Rod Brind'Amour told reporters, "I know he's close, that's for sure," Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Jankowski has appeared in three postseason contests in which he's notched one assist, four shots and three blocks while averaging 11:21 of ice time. In his 19 regular-season contests for the Canes, the 30-year-old center registered eight goals on 21 shots, zero assists and 18 PIM. If Jankowski gets back in the lineup, it figures to be in a bottom-six role with Jack Roslovic relegated to the press box.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Distributes three helpers

Eichel logged three assists, including two on the power play, and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2.

Eichel had a hand in both of Victor Olofsson's tallies as well as a William Karlsson goal. The 28-year-old Eichel has a goal and eight helpers during his five-game point streak after shaking off a three-game skid to open the postseason. He's added 24 shots on net, 14 hits, nine blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through eight playoff outings. Eichel will have his work cut out for him as he tries to lead the Golden Knights out of a 2-0 deficit in this second-round series.

  • Golden Knights' William Karlsson: Scores in Game 2 loss

Karlsson scored a goal in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2.

Karlsson was officially back on the third line for this contest after a stint on the top line. However, his goal came on an assist from Jack Eichel late in the second period. Karlsson's a reliable veteran, so he should get his chances regardless of his place in the lineup. He's at two goals, two assists, 12 shots on net, six blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over eight playoff contests.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

Oilers' Zach Hyman: Deals assist in win

Hyman registered an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.

Hyman set up an Evander Kane tally in the third period. Over the last three games, Hyman has contributed two goals and two assists. He's been a physical force in the playoffs, though he had just one hit Thursday. The winger is at seven points, 50 hits, 18 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason contests.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Sets up game-winner

McDavid logged an assist, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights in Game 2.

McDavid found Leon Draisaitl for the game-winning goal at 15:20 of overtime. This kept McDavid's point streak alive at six games. While he hasn't scored a goal himself in five games, he has two goals, 12 assists, 30 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-7 rating across eight playoff outings.
