  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Posts four points in Game 1

McDavid recorded a goal, three assists, three shots and five hits in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Kings in Game 1.

McDavid found the back of the net for the first time since March 18, but not even his four-point performance was enough to lift the Oilers to victory in this series opener. McDavid has been displaying unmatched consistency, though. He's recorded at least a point in each of his past 18 appearances, dating back to Feb. 23, notching 33 points (five goals, 28 assists) over that span. His play will be a huge factor in whether the Oilers manage to advance past this first-round series or not.

  • Stars' Colin Blackwell: Scores game-winning OT goal

Blackwell scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 2.

Blackwell isn't known for his scoring contributions, as evidenced by his six goals and 17 total points across 63 regular-season appearances, but he came through in the clutch for Dallas in this game. The 32-year-old veteran attempted a shot from the slot and later buried his own rebound past Mackenzie Blackwood in overtime to lift the Stars to victory and, even more importantly, tie the series with the upcoming two games coming in Colorado.

  • Tyler Seguin C | DAL

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Scores power-play goal

Seguin scored a power-play goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche in Game 2.

Seguin evened things up for the Stars late in the first period with a slap shot that went past Mackenzie Blackwood at the 19:06 mark. This was the veteran forward's first goal in the current playoff run, and the Stars will probably rely on his experience during this postseason. He missed most of the regular season while recovering from a hip surgery that sidelined him for 58 games, but Seguin still posted 21 points, 46 shots on net and a plus-15 rating over 20 regular-season outings.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Nets PP goal Monday

MacKinnon scored a power-play goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Stars in Game 2.

MacKinnon opened the scoring for the Avs midway through the first period with a wrister that went past Jake Oettinger at the 8:48 mark. He's scored two of his three goals during the series on the power play, and he's carrying his regular-season success into the playoffs once again. MacKinnon finished second in the regular season with 116 points (32 goals, 84 assists) over 79 appearances.

  • Oilers' Trent Frederic: Available for Game 1 in LA

Frederic (ankle) will return to the lineup against the Kings on Monday in Game 2, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.

Frederic will slot in on the third line alongside Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jeff Skinner. Frederic's physicality will be a welcomed addition to the bottom six -- he has racked up 70 hits in 22 career playoff games with the Bruins, in addition to three goals, two assists and a plus-5 rating.

  • Ross Colton C | COL

Avalanche's Ross Colton: Not playing Monday

Colton (lower body) will not be available Monday versus the Stars in Game 2, per the NHL media site.

Miles Wood, who was a healthy scratch in Game 1, will replace Colton in the lineup Monday. Colton's next chance to suit up will be at home Wednesday in Game 3.

  • Travis Boyd C | TOR

Wild's Travis Boyd: Highlights Black Aces

Boyd was recalled from AHL Iowa on Monday along with forwards Brendan Gaunce, Hunter Haight, Ben Jones and Liam Ohgren, defensemen Cameron Crotty and Carson Lambos, and netminder Samuel Hlavaj.

Boyd was one of eight players to form the Wild's Black Aces promotions after AHL Iowa failed to qualify for the Calder Cup Playoffs. The 31-year-old Boyd logged just three NHL games for the Wild this season in which he failed to register a point or a shot on goal.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Nets goal in Game 1 loss

Hischier scored a goal, put three shots on net, and recorded three blocked shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Hischier lit the lamp for New Jersey's lone goal Sunday late into the second period off a feed from linemate Jesper Bratt. While Hischier posted 69 points in 75 appearances in the regular season, he brought his hot streak offensively into the first game of the postseason as he now has 11 points in his last eight games. With Jack Hughes out for the season with a shoulder injury, Hischier will lead New Jersey's center unit and see plenty of ice time on the team's top line for the postseason.

  • Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Finds twine twice in Game 1

Stankoven scored two goals and put four shots on net in Sunday's 4-1 win over New Jersey in Game 1.

Stankoven thrived in his first taste of postseason action with the Hurricanes. He scored both of his goals in the second period with the latter coming on a power play. Stankoven has begun producing goals more consistently with six tallies in his last 11 games. His emergence for Carolina in a middle-six role shows he's one of the league's most exciting young talents. Stankoven could be an X-factor for the Hurricanes throughout the postseason.

  • Oilers' Trent Frederic: Considered game-time decision

Frederic (ankle) is considered a game-time decision for Monday's Game 1 against the Kings, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.

Previous reports indicated that Frederic appeared probable for Monday's matchup, but the Oilers will monitor his status leading up to puck drop before officially determining his status. Frederic appeared in just one of the final 25 games of the regular season, so it's unclear whether he'll have any limitations if he's cleared to play Monday. Over his 58 regular-season appearances between Boston and Edmonton, he logged eight goals, seven assists, 157 hits and 44 PIM while averaging 13:43 of ice time, though his minutes are likely to be lower than that given the talent at the top of the Oilers' lineup.
