  • Nic Dowd C | LV

Capitals' Nic Dowd: Nets shortie Tuesday

Dowd scored a shorthanded goal on three shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Bruins.

Dowd has four points over his last 11 games. The defensive center continues to play a significant role for the Capitals, though it's not one that leads to much offense. He's matched his career high in points with 25 (13 goals, 12 assists), doing so in 74 appearances after setting that high mark in 65 games in 2022-23. He's added 77 shots on net, 118 hits, 71 blocked shots, 42 PIM and a plus-10 rating in 2024-25.

  • Dylan Strome C | WAS

Capitals' Dylan Strome: Goal, assist in win

Strome recorded an even-strength goal and a power-play assist in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Bruins.

Strome recorded a multi-point performance for a second straight game, as he also notched two assists in the 8-5 loss to the Sabres on Sunday. A reliable playmaker who has been one of the most consistent players for the Capitals throughout the season, Strome is ending the season on a strong note with eight points (four goals, four assists) across his last eight games. He has already established a new career-high mark with 72 points this season.

  • Jordan Kyrou C | STL

Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Scores vs. Detroit

Kyrou scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Red Wings.

Kyrou came through in the clutch for the Blues and scored the equalizer in the final minute of regulation with a quick shot that went past Cam Talbot. It was Kyrou's 32nd goal of the campaign, and the 26-year-old winger has been extremely productive of late. He's cracked the scoresheet in eight of his last 10 appearances, tallying 13 points (eight goals, five helpers) in that span.

  • Peyton Krebs C | BUF

Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Riding five-game point streak

Krebs scored a goal, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Senators.

Krebs is on a five-game point streak, earning three goals and three assists in that span. He's in a bottom-six role at even strength, but he's earned a bit more ice time with his recent play, including his fourth-highest total of the season Tuesday (17:46). Overall, the center has nine goals, 24 points, 69 shots, 117 hits, 60 PIM and a minus-2 rating across 73 appearances.

  • Ryan McLeod C | BUF

Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Puts away empty-netter

McLeod scored a shorthanded empty-net goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Senators.

McLeod is up to three goals and seven assists over his last six contests. The 25-year-old has emerged as a reliable all-situations player in 2024-25, with more shorthanded points (five) than power-play points (two). He's at 19 goals, 48 points, 85 shots on net, 33 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating through 71 outings overall.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Closing in on 40-goal mark

Thompson scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Senators.

Thompson has five goals and one assist over his last five outings as he makes a late-season push up the scoring charts. The 27-year-old's tally Tuesday was the game-winner, his fifth such goal this season. He's at 39 goals, 66 points, 215 shots on net, 63 hits and a minus-1 rating through 68 contests overall. He could join the 40-goal club for the second time in his career, but he'll likely come up short of the career-best 47 he netted in 2022-23.

  • Nick Cousins C | OTT

Senators' Nick Cousins: Could practice Thursday

Cousins (knee) could join the Senators for practice Thursday, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.

Cousins has been sidelined since late January due to his knee injury, but he's been feeling better recently and will likely be able to take a step in his recovery process Thursday. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return to game action over the final two weeks of the regular season, but he seems to be trending in the right direction.

  • Cody Glass C | NJ

Devils' Cody Glass: Might be available for Saturday

Glass (lower body) might be an option to return Saturday versus the Rangers, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site on Wednesday.

Even if Glass isn't able to play against New York, he does seem to at least be close to returning. The 26-year-old has six goals and 21 points in 59 outings between Pittsburgh and New Jersey in 2024-25. He's likely to serve in a middle-six capacity once he's ready to play.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Traveling with team

Malkin (upper body) will join the Penguins on their three-game road trip that kicks off in St. Louis on Thursday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.

Malkin hasn't started practicing with the team yet, and while it's a good sign that he'll be traveling with the team, it likely means he won't be ready for Thursday's tilt -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out by the team. Still, the fact that Malkin will be on the trip bodes well for him rejoining the lineup sooner rather than later. Once Malkin returns, he should step into his usual No. 2 center role, which will allow Rickard Rakell to shift back to the wing.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Late heroics in OT win

Suzuki scored two goals, one on the overtime winner, in Tuesday's 3-2 victory over the Panthers.

The 25-year-old just about single-handedly won the game for the Habs. With Montreal down 2-1 and its goalie pulled late in the third period, Suzuki pounced on a loose puck and deposited it behind Vitek Vanecek with nine seconds left in regulation. Not content with earning just one point in the standings for his club, Suzuki then scored the winner 29 seconds into OT, speeding around the net and scoring on the wraparound before Vanecek could cover the far post. Suzuki is up to 25 goals on the season -- the third straight campaign in which he's reached that milestone -- and he's been on fire since the 4 Nations Face-Off, amassing 10 goals and 27 points in the last 18 games as the Canadiens try to secure a playoff spot.
