  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Earns first career hat trick

Protas scored three goals on six shots and went plus-4 in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Ducks.

Protas tied the game at 2-2 late in the first period and added a pair of tallies in the third, including the empty-netter, to complete his first career hat trick. The 24-year-old has five goals and three assists over six games in March as he continues a stellar campaign. For the season, Protas is at 28 goals, 58 points, 125 shots on net and a league-leading plus-39 rating. All but five of his points have come at even strength -- he's earned four shorthanded points and one power-play point this season.

  • Lightning's Gage Goncalves: Third goal of season

Goncalves scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes on Tuesday.

Goncalves cut the score to 3-1 early in the third period with a goal from above the hash marks. It was his third goal of the season. Goncalves is skating on the third line with newcomers Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand. It's a great opportunity for the winger to grow his game and gain experience. But it won't likely make him fantasy relevant, at least this season. Goncalves has three goals, seven hits, 42 hits, 12 blocks and 39 shots in 42 games this season.

  • Seth Jarvis C | CAR

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Three-game goal streak

Jarvis scored a goal in a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

Jarvis' goal came early in the first period while the Hurricanes were on the penalty kill. The snipe extended his goal streak to three games and three goals. Jarvis sits in a five-way tie for second in the NHL with five shorthanded points. On top of that, his 26 goals not only lead the Canes, but they put him into the NHL's top-30 snipers. Jarvis' overall point total (49) may not eclipse his career mark of 67, but he's well on his way to another 30-plus goal season.

  • Dylan Cozens C | OTT

Senators' Dylan Cozens: Three game point-streak since trade

Cozens scored a goal in a 5-2 win over the Flyers on Tuesday.

Cozens has made a real impact since his arrival from Buffalo on Friday's trade deadline. He has three points (two goals, one assist) during a three-game point streak since joining the Senators. The only players in the past 10 years with as long a point streak to begin their time in Ottawa were Chris Tierney (seven games, 2018-19) and Drake Batherson (three games, 2018-19). Cozens' goal was also his 200th point in the NHL. The move to Ottawa may be the best thing to happen to his game. The center has struggled to replicate his 31-goal, 68-point heroics of 2022-23.

  • Shane Pinto C | OTT

Senators' Shane Pinto: Sens' best sniper since mid-Dec.

Pinto picked up a goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Flyers.

It was Pinto's 15th snipe of the season. That doesn't seem remarkable, but dig deeper and you'll see that he had just one goal as of Dec. 12. In fact, that goal came on opening night, and he didn't score again for 19 games. Since then, Pinto has been the Sens' best sniper with 14 goals, and he also has nine assists. File his name as a trade target or perhaps a sneaky pick next draft, depending on your categorical needs.

  • Senators' Michael Amadio: Five points in last six games

Amadio scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-2 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Amadio's shot along the ice from the right side late in the second period stood as the winner. He has five points, including three goals, and 11 shots in his last six games. That's solid production for a winger with just 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) in 54 games this season. Amadio continues to pace toward his fourth straight 10-plus goal season, but his overall fantasy value is low. He might be a short-term fill-in for a game or two right now while he's hot, but nothing more.

  • Flyers' Rodrigo Abols: Goal scorer living the dream

Abols scored a goal in a 5-2 loss to the Senators on Tuesday.

His goal from the left face-off circle near the mid-point of the second knotted the game 2-2. Abols is a 29-year-old, first-year player from Latvia who is living the dream as a seventh-round long shot (184th overall). He has two goals, one assist and 12 hits in 12 games this season. Abols is a nice story, but he doesn't have fantasy value right now.

  • Kyle MacLean C | NYI

Islanders' Kyle MacLean: Slated to play

MacLean (illness) warmed up on the fourth line, indicating he will be available to play Tuesday versus the Kings, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

MacLean missed Sunday's game versus the Ducks, but that looks to be the extent of the 25-year-old's absence. With MacLean back, Scott Mayfield is set to be a healthy scratch as the Islanders continue to carry nine blueliners on the active roster.

  • Noah Gregor C | FLA

Sharks' Noah Gregor: Not playing Tuesday

Gregor (not injury related) won't play Tuesday versus the Predators, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Gregor's immigration paperwork wasn't completed in time for him to play, so he will be forced to miss another game. Carl Grundstrom will stay in the lineup, while Tyler Toffoli (lower body) took the ice for warmups and is trending toward playing after being labeled a game-time decision. Gregor's next chance to play is Thursday versus the Blackhawks.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Sitting out Tuesday

Howden (undisclosed) won't play Tuesday versus the Penguins, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal

Howden and his wife are expecting their second child, so Howden will be absent for the start of the Golden Knights' road trip. The 26-year-old will be replaced by Jonas Rondbjerg in the lineup, though Nicolas Roy will pick up the extra minutes created in Howden's absence. The Golden Knights are playing the first contest of a four-game road trip Tuesday, which continues in Columbus on Thursday.
