  • Oilers' Matthew Savoie: Set for team debut

Savoie will be recalled from AHL Bakersfield ahead of Saturday's game versus the Flyers, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Savoie is expected to make his Oilers debut and just his second NHL appearance in the contest. The 21-year-old is projected to play alongside Leon Draisaitl at even strength, though many forwards in the Oilers' top six occasionally see shifts skipped. Savoie has excelled in the AHL this season to the tune of 37 points over 45 appearances and has been practicing with the big club this week prior to his call-up becoming official.

  • Flyers' Ryan Poehling: Set to be activated

Poehling (upper body) is available to play Saturday versus the Oilers, indicating he'll be activated from injured reserve prior to the contest.

Poehling was upgraded to day-to-day status in early February, so his return has likely only been delayed by the 4 Nations Face-Off. The 26-year-old figures to take on a bottom-six role and will be heavily featured in defensive situations. He missed 11 games and has earned 15 points over 43 appearances this season.

  • Predators' Mark Jankowski: Ready to return

Jankowski (upper body) was taken off injured reserve Friday, setting him up to play Saturday versus Colorado.

Jankowski will likely serve on the fourth line against the Avalanche. He has three goals and eight points in 37 appearances in 2024-25. Zachary L'Heureux (upper body) and Adam Wilsby (upper body) were placed on injured reserve in corresponding moves.

  • Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Game-time decision Saturday

Crosby (rest) will be a game-time decision versus Washington on Saturday, according to Josh Yohe of The Athletic.

The 37-year-old captained Team Canada to the championship at the 4 Nations Face-Off on Thursday, so he might get a game to rest before retuning to action for the Penguins. Crosby had one goal and four assists over four games in the tournament, finishing tied for second in scoring with teammate Connor McDavid. Crosby missed the last two games before the break due to an upper-body injury, but he has fully recovered from the injury.

  • Blue Jackets' Owen Sillinger: Suffers season-ending injury

Sillinger was placed on injured reserve Friday due to a season-ending knee injury.

Sillinger missed the last two games with AHL Cleveland after he was injured Feb. 11 against Rochester, and he'll be unavailable for the remainder of the season. He had 11 goals and 29 points over 40 AHL games and was held off the scoresheet in his lone NHL appearance this season.

  • Boone Jenner C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Ready to rock

Jenner (shoulder) was activated from injured reserve Friday.

Jenner has yet to see any action this season, as he underwent shoulder surgery before the start of the 2024-25 campaign. The 31-year-old is expected to line up on the second line alongside Kent Johnson and Cole Sillinger, as well as see second power-play time. Jenner had 22 goals, 13 assists, 119 hits and 74 blocked shots across 58 regular-season games in 2023-24.

  • Shane Pinto C | OTT

Senators' Shane Pinto: Not playing Saturday

Pinto (upper body) will be unavailable versus Montreal on Saturday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Pinto sat out the last two games before the break due to the injury. He was injured against Tampa Bay on Feb. 4, playing only 2:57 before leaving the contest. Pinto had a five-game point streak heading into the matchup against the Lightning, and he has 11 goals and 22 points over 46 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Josh Norris C | BUF

Senators' Josh Norris: Unavailable for Saturday

Norris (upper body) will miss Saturday's clash against Montreal, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia on Friday.

Norris is set to miss his fifth straight game. He has 19 goals and 31 points across 50 outings in 2024-25. The 25-year-old will likely serve on the second line once he's ready to return.

  • Jakub Lauko C | BOS

Wild's Jakub Lauko: Won't travel with team

Lauko (lower body) won't travel with the Wild to Detroit for Saturday's game, per Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Minnesota will be back at home to host the Red Wings on Tuesday, so Lauko might still be an option for that clash. The 24-year-old has two goals and five points over 33 appearances in 2024-25. He will likely serve in a fourth-line role once he's healthy.

  • Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Two assists in 4 Nations loss

Matthews (upper body) picked up two assists in a 3-2 overtime loss to Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off Final on Thursday.

Head coach Mike Sullivan shifted Matthews to a line with Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk, replacing Jack Eichel in the first period. The move paid quick dividends, with Brady scoring on the second shift for the trio. Matthews finished the tournament with three assists and six shots across three games. The Maple Leafs and fantasy managers should have some concern for the underlying injury that continues to flare up for Matthews, but his strong two-way play in this tournament demonstrated his superstar status. Toronto resumes play at home against the Hurricanes on Saturday, and it remains to be seen if Matthews or any of the 4 Nations players will be given a game off following the tournament.
