  • Radko Gudas D | ANA

Ducks' Radko Gudas: Gets five-game ban

Gudas was given a five-game suspension Friday for kneeing Toronto's Auston Matthews in Thursday's game.

Matthews sustained a season-ending knee injury on the play. Gudas was offered a phone hearing, so this was the maximum-length suspension possible without an in-person hearing. Gudas will be eligible to return March 24 versus the Canucks. John Carlson (lower body) should be able to make his Ducks debut at some point during Gudas' ban, but if that doesn't happen Saturday versus the Senators, look for both of Ian Moore and Drew Helleson to play on the blue line.

  • Jacob Bryson D | WPG

    Jets' Jacob Bryson: Registers assist

Bryson logged an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Rangers.

This was Bryson's first point in three games since he was traded from the Sabres. The 28-year-old defenseman has taken over on the third pairing, though he could lose his spot if Neal Pionk (undisclosed) or Colin Miller (knee) return before the end of the season. Bryson has little fantasy upside -- he has six points, 15 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 38 NHL appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Braden Schneider: Produces two assists

Schneider notched two assists, three hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Jets.

Schneider has four helpers and a plus-6 rating over his last five contests. The 24-year-old defenseman is still seeing top-four minutes even with the Rangers' blue line at full strength, though most of his value is in the physical categories. He's put up 15 points, 83 shots on net, 135 hits, 104 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 65 outings this season, which will likely see him fall short of his 21-point output from last year.

  • Adam Fox D | NYR

Rangers' Adam Fox: Strikes early on power play

Fox scored a power-play goal and blocked four shots in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Jets.

Fox has a goal and three assists over his last five contests. He's earned his last three points with the man advantage. The 28-year-old defenseman's numbers are down this year after multiple injury absences. He's been limited to five goals, 32 points, 67 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 38 outings.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Wild's Quinn Hughes: Two helpers in shootout loss

Hughes notched two assists, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Flyers.

Hughes has a goal and seven helpers during his six-game point streak spanning all of March. The 26-year-old defenseman continues to be a great fit in Minnesota -- he has earned 43 points in 34 outings with the Wild since he was acquired in a December trade. Overall, the blueliner is at six goals, 60 helpers, 159 shots on net, 67 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 60 contests this season.

  • Emil Andrae D | PHI

Flyers' Emil Andrae: Finds twine in shootout win

Andrae scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Wild.

Andrae had been scratched for the previous two games and had gone six contests without a point. The 24-year-old defenseman will have to earn his playing time to close out the season, as he has battled Noah Juulsen for much of the last month and a half for the last spot in the lineup. Andrae has two goals, 12 points, 29 shots on net, 55 hits, 43 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating over 46 appearances.

  • Stars' Kyle Capobianco: Squeezed out of lineup

Capobianco was scratched for the eighth consecutive game in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Oilers.

Capobianco went 10 games without a point prior to this run in the press box. The Stars beefed up their blue line at the trade deadline, picking up Tyler Myers from the Canucks while also getting Lian Bichsel back from an injury. Capobianco may mix in occasionally, but with Dallas carrying nine blueliners on the NHL roster, there's not a lot of room for him to play regularly. He has five points, 26 blocked shots, 17 shots on net and 12 hits over 31 appearances this season.

  • Flames' Brayden Pachal: Nabs assist in win

Pachal posted an assist, four hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Devils.

Pachal has played in five straight contests. He has received an uptick in usage after the Flames dealt MacKenzie Weegar to the Mammoth, though Pachal's role is far from safe with younger options in Zayne Parekh and Hunter Brzustewicz competing for minutes. Through 32 outings this season, Pachal has four assists, 24 shots on net, 79 hits, 27 blocked shots, 43 PIM and a plus-2 rating, primarily from a third-pairing role.

  • Panthers' Michael Benning: Earns helper in NHL debut

Benning logged a power-play assist in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.

Benning helped out on Sam Reinhart's game-winning tally in overtime. This was Benning's NHL debut, and he was able to be a contributor right away. He should continue to get a look in a power-play spot while the Panthers await the returns of Uvis Balinskis (undisclosed) and Seth Jones (upper body).

  • Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Questionable versus Leafs

Samuelsson is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is questionable to face Toronto on Saturday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

Samuelsson missed two games earlier in the year but has been a mainstay in the lineup ever since. In his 64 outings, the 25-year-old blueliner has set new personal bests in goals (12) and assists (24) while averaging a career-high 23:07 of ice time. If Samuelsson does miss out, Zach Metsa could step into the lineup in his stead.
