  • Cam York D | PHI

Flyers' Cam York: Tallies in overtime loss

York scored a goal and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

York struck early, tallying the opening goal just 30 seconds into the game. The 25-year-old defenseman has earned two goals and three assists over 10 outings in January, and he continues to see top-four minutes with power-play time. He's up to four goals, 20 points, 56 shots on net, 85 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 42 appearances. He's already surpassed his 17-point output from 66 games in 2024-25, and he could take a run at his career-high 30 points from 2023-24 if he stays healthy the rest of the way.

  • Jets' Elias Salomonsson: Expected back versus Cats

Salomonsson (illness) is set to rejoin the lineup against Florida on Thursday.

Salomonsson will be back in action after missing two games due to his illness. In his six appearances this year, the 21-year-old blueliner has yet to register a point while recording six hits, six shots and a minus-5 rating. Once the Jets get healthy on the blue line, including Neal Pionk (lower body) and Colin Miller (knee), Salomonsson could be headed back to the minors.

  • Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Nets tying goal

Edvinsson scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.

Edvinsson ended a six-game point drought with his goal late in the first period, tying the contest at 1-1. The 22-year-old defenseman has remained firmly in a top-four role even with his drop in offense during January. For the season, he's at six goals, 17 points, 57 shots on net, 63 hits, 104 blocked shots, 54 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 48 appearances. His all-around production makes him a decent option in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Sabres' Michael Kesselring: Game-time call Thursday

Kesselring (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Montreal on Thursday, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

Kesselring has missed the last two games after tweaking his ankle against the Wild on Jan. 17. The 26-year-old defenseman has yet to acquire a point in 17 games this season, though he was an offensive threat in 2024-25 with seven goals and 22 assists in 82 regular-season games. Should Kesselring not be available, Zach Metsa will remain in the lineup.

  • Golden Knights' Rasmus Andersson: Unavailable Thursday

Andersson (not injury related) has been ruled out of Thursday's clash in Boston, Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald reports.

Andersson has been dealing with visa issues since he was dealt to Vegas on Sunday. The issues have yet to be resolved and head coach Bruce Cassidy said Thursday that his status for Friday's game in Toronto is still up in the air. Andersson had 10 goals and 20 assists in 48 games with the Flames before the trade.

  • Lightning's Ryan McDonagh: Won't play this weekend

Head coach Jon Cooper said Thursday that McDonagh (lower body) won't play over the weekend but is now considered day-to-day, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports.

While McDonagh will be unavailable for the Lightning's two-game road trip that includes games in Chicago on Friday and in Columbus on Saturday, Cooper said Thursday that the defenseman will "definitely" return to game action before the Olympic break. Following their road trip, the Lightning will have five games remaining before the league's layoff, and McDonagh's next opportunity to suit up will be Monday against the Mammoth.

  • Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Designated for IR

Mateychuk (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Mateychuk has already been out of action for the Blue Jackets' last four contests and will now be on the sidelines for a fifth when the team faces the Stars on Thursday. With the blueliner going on IR, the team used the available roster spot to activate Mason Marchment (upper body). Still, once Mateychuk gets the green light, he should slot back into a top-four pairing.

  • Bruins' Jordan Harris: Set for conditioning loan

Harris (ankle) was reassigned to AHL Providence on a conditioning loan Thursday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

Harris has been out of action since Oct. 21 versus the Panthers, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the organization wants to get him some minutes in the minors before activating him off long-term injured reserve. Even once given the all-clear, the Massachusetts native is far from a lock to make the lineup on a nightly basis and could find himself serving as a healthy scratch periodically.

  • John Carlson D | ANA

Capitals' John Carlson: Reaches 600-assist mark in career

Carlson logged two helpers, four shots on goal and two PIM in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks.

With the effort, Carlson became the 21st blueliner in NHL history to earn 600 assists. He achieved the milestone in his 1,135th game. He's done good work recently with a goal and 10 helpers over his last nine outings. For the season, the 36-year-old is at 40 points (eight on the power play), 100 shots on net, 67 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-11 rating over 47 contests.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Tickles twine in win

Hronek scored a goal and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Capitals.

Hronek had gone eight games without a goal, picking up three assists in that span. He remains fairly steady on offense for a team that hasn't exactly been filling the net a lot this season. Hronek now has four goals, 29 points, 69 shots on net, 75 hits, 68 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating across 50 appearances in a top-pairing role.
