Emil Andrae D | PHI
Flyers' Emil Andrae: Not playing in Game 3
Andrae (upper body) will remain out for Game 3 versus the Penguins on Wednesday, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Andrae missed Game 2 as well, and he doesn't have a firm timeline for his return. That likely means Noah Juulsen will stay in the lineup for Wednesday's contest. Andrae will have a couple of days to work toward getting healthier before Game 4 on Saturday.

Billy Sweezey D | BOS
Bruins' Billy Sweezey: Inks two-way deal
Sweezey signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Bruins on Wednesday.
Sweezey's agreement for 2026-27 will come with a $850,000 cap hit if he plays in the NHL. However, the 30-year-old didn't play at the top level during the 2025-26 regular season, instead recording a goal, 17 points and 84 PIM in 69 appearances with AHL Providence.

Radko Gudas D | ANA
Ducks' Radko Gudas: Will miss Game 2
Gudas (undisclosed) won't play in Game 2 against Edmonton on Wednesday, per Ryan Rishaug of TSN.
Gudas recorded a shot, two hits and a block in 9:40 of ice time in Anaheim's 4-3 loss to Edmonton in Game 1 on Monday. The defenseman got into just four of Anaheim's final 17 regular-season games due to injury. Drew Helleson might draw into the lineup Wednesday because of Gudas' absence.

Bowen Byram D | BUF
Sabres' Bowen Byram: Pots goal in Game 2 loss
Byram scored a goal on four shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Bruins in Game 2.
Byram ended a four-game point drought with the tally. He also has six shots on net, two hits and a plus-1 rating over two playoff contests so far. This is his third time in the postseason -- he logged 12 assists over 27 games across his previous two runs, which included being a Stanley Cup champion with the Avalanche in 2022. Byram had a career year this regular season with 11 goals and 42 points over 82 outings, and he has more playoff experience than many of his Sabres teammates, which could be valuable for this run.

Charle-Edward D'Astous D | TB
Lightning's Charle-Edouard D'Astous: Traveling with team
D'Astous (undisclosed) will join the Lightning on the road for Game 3 against the Canadiens on Friday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
D'Astous is far from a lock to play in Game 3, but the fact that he is going to be on the trip with the team bodes well for a short-term absence. If the 28-year-old Quebec native does get back into the lineup, it figures to come at the expense of Declan Carlile, who will likely return to the press box as a healthy scratch.

Rasmus Sandin D | WAS
Capitals' Rasmus Sandin: Undergoes knee surgery
Sandin underwent right knee surgery Tuesday for a torn ACL.
Sandin missed Washington's final two games of 2025-26 and finished the campaign with five goals, 29 points, 12 PIM, 88 hits and 127 blocks in 73 outings. He's expected to miss 6-9 months as a result of the injury, which puts his availability for the start of the 2026-27 campaign into question.

Elias Salomonsson D | WPG
Jets' Elias Salomonsson: Heads to AHL
Salomonsson (concussion) was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Wednesday.
Salomonsson was in the concussion protocol, but this move suggests that he's been cleared medically. The 21-year-old had a goal and five points across 32 outings with Winnipeg in 2025-26.

Jonathan Aspirot D | BOS
Bruins' Jonathan Aspirot: Two helpers in Game 2 win
Aspirot pocketed two assists Tuesday during the Bruins' 4-2 win over the Sabres in Game 2 of their first-round series.
The rookie defenseman helped set up Viktor Arvidsson tallies in the second and third periods. Aspirot hadn't produced any points at all in eight April games leading into Tuesday, including a Game 1 loss, but he's been finding other ways to contribute with seven blocked shots and four hits through two games to begin the series.
-
Hunter McDonald D | PHI
Flyers' Hunter McDonald: Recalled by Philadelphia
McDonald was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
McDonald made his NHL debut this year during Philadelphia's regular-season finale, but he was sent back down after the game. However, he'll rejoin the NHL club as one of the Black Aces for the playoffs. He recorded six assists and 92 PIM across 65 appearances with Lehigh Valley this year.
-
Helge Grans D | PHI
Flyers' Helge Grans: Promoted to NHL
Grans was called up from AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
Grans was one of five Black Aces brought up by the Flyers on Wednesday. The 23-year-old blueliner shouldn't be expected to play in the postseason, but he will serve as an emergency depth option should the need arise. With the Phantoms this year, Grans racked up three goals and 11 helpers in 61 contests and could be under consideration for a spot on the Opening Night roster heading into the 2026-27 campaign.
