Denton Mateychuk D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Status in question
Mateychuk (upper body) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Mammoth.
Mateychuk sustained his upper-body injury in the opening frame of Sunday's game in Utah. If the 2022 first-round pick is unable to return, Egor Zamula will probably receive an uptick in work on the blue line.

Adam Jiricek D | STL
Blues' Adam Jiricek: Tallies twice for Brantford
Jiricek scored two goals in OHL Brantford's 7-3 win over Windsor on Sunday.
Jiricek is coming off a successful stint with Czechia at the World Junior Championship, where he had five goals and an assist in seven games to help his country to a silver medal. He's been back with Brantford for three games, earning three goals and an assist. The defenseman is now at 13 goals and 33 points through 28 OHL contests this season.

Jakob Chychrun D | WAS
Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Under the weather
Chychrun isn't available for Sunday's game in Nashville due to an illness.
Chychrun will miss his first game of the season due to his ailment. The left-shot defenseman will likely be replaced in the lineup Sunday by Trevor van Riemsdyk. Chychrun's absence against the Predators will also result in Rasmus Sandin receiving an increased workload on the left side of the blue line. The Capitals' next game is against the Canadiens on Tuesday.

Isaiah George D | NYI
Islanders' Isaiah George: Collects three points
George scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Bridgeport's 5-1 win over Hartford on Sunday.
George has battled injuries a couple of times this season, with his three points Sunday representing his first contribution since Dec. 13. He's now at two goals and six helpers over 21 appearances. The Islanders have plenty of blue-line depth at the NHL level, so the 21-year-old George is likely to spend most of the campaign working on his development.

Lassi Thomson D | OTT
Senators' Lassi Thomson: Nets two goals Sunday
Thomson scored two goals in AHL Belleville's 6-5 overtime loss to Rochester on Sunday.
Thomson had gone four games without a point and six contests without a goal entering Sunday. He's now at nine goals and 15 points through 35 outings this season. Thomson had a call-up to Ottawa earlier in the season but didn't make an appearance, and he hasn't exactly impressed in his AHL time so far.

John Klingberg D | SJ
Sharks' John Klingberg: Removed from IR
Klingberg (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday.
According to Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now, Klingberg will replace Nick Leddy in Sunday's lineup against Vegas. The 33-year-old Klingberg missed the last four games. He has accounted for nine goals, 16 points, 48 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and 23 hits through 31 appearances this season.

Colin Miller D | WPG
Jets' Colin Miller: Leaves Sunday early
Miller (lower body) was injured during the first period of Sunday's game against the Devils and won't return, the Jets announced.
Miller was hurt in a collision with the boards after he drew an interference minor. The 33-year-old has been healthy but has been in and out of the lineup this season, playing in only 15 games. The timeline for his return beyond Sunday's contest is not known at this time.

Kyle Capobianco D | DAL
Stars' Kyle Capobianco: Finds twine Saturday
Capobianco scored a goal in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Sharks.
Capobianco has been on the short end of a part-time role lately, as Saturday was just his third appearance in the last 12 games. That decrease in playing time has come from the return of Nils Lundkvist, and the fact that the Stars are missing just Lian Bichsel (lower body) on the blue line currently. The 28-year-old Capobianco is now at two goals, five points, 13 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 21 appearances. He's been fine as a third-pairing option when pressed into action, and he'll likely compete with Alex Petrovic for playing time moving forward.

Neal Pionk D | WPG
Jets' Neal Pionk: Poised to play
Pionk (lower body) is expected to play against New Jersey on Sunday, according to Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press.
Following a one-game absence, Pionk is poised to replace Luke Schenn in Sunday's lineup against the Devils. The 30-year-old Pionk has two goals, five assists, 76 shots on net, 62 blocked shots and 81 hits across 38 appearances this season.

Sam Dickinson D | SJ
Sharks' Sam Dickinson: Posts assist in overtime win
Dickinson logged an assist and four hits in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Stars.
Since the start of December, Dickinson has three helpers, 15 blocked shots, 13 hits, 10 shots on net and a plus-1 rating over 16 outings. The 19-year-old defenseman stayed with the Sharks rather than getting loaned out to Team Canada for the World Junior Championship, so the NHL club is committed to getting him on-the-job experience this season. Dickinson has plenty of potential in the long run, but with just five points, a minus-3 rating, 30 shots on net, 30 hits and 28 blocked shots through 35 contests, he's best left off rosters in redraft formats this season.
