Dmitry Orlov D | SJ
Sharks' Dmitry Orlov: Logs power-play helper Saturday
Orlov notched a power-play assist, two hits and two PIM in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Stars.
Orlov helped out on Tyler Toffoli's third-period tally, which sparked a second comeback effort for the Sharks. While Orlov hasn't scored since Dec. 11 versus the Maple Leafs, he's picked up five assists, 20 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over the 12 games since his lone goal of the campaign. The 34-year-old defenseman is up to 22 points (11 on the power play), 46 shots on net, 63 hits, 46 blocked shots and 28 PIM across 44 appearances. He's a fine fill-in option in fantasy while serving on the first power-play unit in the absence of John Klingberg (lower body).

Aaron Ekblad D | FLA
Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Plates pair of helpers
Ekblad supplied two assists and put two shots on net in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Senators.
Ekblad slid the lone helper on Evan Rodrigues' power-play goal in the first period before picking up a second assist on Gustav Forsling's game-winning goal early in the third. With the pair of apples, Ekblad now has 15 assists, 18 points, 62 shots on net, 53 hits and 70 blocks through 43 appearances this season. Since Dec. 15, he has four multi-point performances and has started to hit his stride offensively. The 29-year-old blueliner should continue to see more opportunities to create on offense with Seth Jones (upper body) on injured reserve for the time being. Ekblad is a strong waiver-wire pickup across most fantasy formats.

Gustav Forsling D | FLA
Panthers' Gustav Forsling: Ends drought with go-ahead goal
Forsling scored a goal, dished out a power-play assist and recorded two hits in Saturday's 3-2 win over Ottawa.
Forsling gave the Panthers a 3-1 lead in the final period of Saturday's contest with a goal that would stand as the game-winning tally. Overall, the 29-year-old blueliner is up to two goals, 16 points, 52 shots on net, 36 hits and 49 blocks through 44 appearances this season. The pair of points ended his 15-game scoreless streak, which also brings to light how consistent his offensive output was at the start of the season. If he can recapture a bit of his playmaking prowess from the start of the campaign, he could get back on track to reach the 30-point threshold for the fifth consecutive regular season. With solid all-around numbers for a defenseman, he holds enough value to be rostered in a majority of deep fantasy leagues moving forward.

Kevin Korchinski D | CHI
Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Sent back to AHL
Korchinski has been reassigned to AHL Rockford by the Blackhawks, the team announced Sunday.
Korchinski appeared in his first two NHL games of the season in his latest stint with the Blackhawks, registering an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots with an average of 13:59 of ice time per game. The 21-year-old will head back to AHL Rockford, where he has 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in 39 games.

Victor Mancini D | VAN
Canucks' Victor Mancini: Summoned from AHL
Mancini has been recalled by the Canucks from AHL Abbotsford, the team announced Sunday.
Mancini will return to the NHL club for the first time since November. If he were to suit up for a game, it would be his first since Oct. 26. The 23-year-old is exchanging places with Elias Pettersson, who is being sent down in a corresponding move. Mancini has six points (one goal, five assists) in 20 games with AHL Abbotsford on the season.

Elias Pettersson D | VAN
Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Dropped to minors
Pettersson was assigned to AHL Abbotsford on Sunday.
The Canucks recalled Victor Mancini from the minors in a corresponding move. Pettersson has accounted for one goal, five assists, 21 shots on net, 42 blocked shots and 64 hits across 38 NHL outings this season.

Ilya Solovyov D | PIT
Avalanche's Ilya Solovyov: Pots first NHL goal
Solovyov scored his first career goal in the NHL during Saturday's 4-0 win over Columbus.
The 25-year-old gave the Avalanche a 3-0 lead in the second period by snapping a shot past Elvis Merzlikins from the faceoff dot to the goalie's right. Solovyov has gotten onto the scoresheet in three straight games as he helps cover for the absence of Devon Toews (upper body), but Colorado's depth on the blue line will make it tough for Solovyov to earn a consistent role in the top six when the unit is fully healthy, no matter how he performs.

Brent Burns D | COL
Avalanche's Brent Burns: Two goals including winner
Burns scored two goals, one the game-winner, on four shots on net with a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Blue Jackets.
The 40-year-old blueliner potted the first and last goals of the afternoon, giving Trent Miner more than enough offensive support in a dominant overall effort by the Avs. Burns has found the back of the net three times in the last two games, and on the season he's delivered eight goals and 23 points in 44 contests with 97 shots on net, 53 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-26 rating that would tie his career high.

Johnathan Kovacevic D | NJ
Devils' Johnny Kovacevic: Removed from LTIR
Kovacevic (knee) was activated from long-term injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.
Following a 44-game absence due to offseason knee surgery, Kovacevic is poised to make his 2025-26 debut against Winnipeg on Sunday. He registered one goal, 17 points, 76 shots on net, 99 blocked shots and 102 hits across 81 appearances during the 2024-25 regular season. Kovacevic's return to action will make Dougie Hamilton a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Jaccob Slavin D | CAR
Hurricanes' Jaccob Slavin: Slides first assist this season
Slavin tallied an assist and had two hits in Saturday's 3-2 win over Seattle.
Slavin notched his first assist of the season on William Carrier's game-winning goal in the third period. Slavin has one point, two shots on net, two hits and eight blocks through six appearances this season. While the beginning of his season has been derailed by a pair of injuries, he has a strong outlook in the second half of the season as he's set to play his usual role of top-pair minutes for one of the league's strongest defensive units. If he can stay healthy, Slavin should be a strong source of category coverage, though he had just 27 points in 80 regular-season games last season.
