Zach Werenski D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Leaves late after shot block
Werenski sustained an apparent lower-body injury on a blocked shot in Saturday's game versus the Ducks, and there was no update on his status after the contest, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Werenski had to crawl off the ice and needed assistance getting to the locker room, so there is at least moderate concern with this injury. Prior to getting hurt, he picked up a goal and an assist Saturday, giving him five goals and five helpers during his five-game point streak. The defenseman's status for Monday's game versus the Kings is up in the air pending further evaluation, but an absence of any length would be a significant blow to Columbus' blue line.

Brady Skjei D | NSH
Predators' Brady Skjei: Warming up after cold start
Skjei put up two assists in a 5-3 win over Toronto on Saturday.
Skjei has warmed up of late -- he has one goal, five assists and 11 shots in his last seven games after putting up six assists and 43 shots in his first 27 games this season. Skjei may provide some short-term value in deep formats if he can keep some heat in his game.

Adam Wilsby D | NSH
Predators' Adam Wilsby: First goal in over year
Wilsby scored a goal in a 5-3 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday.
It was his first goal since Dec. 17, 2024. Wilsby is a sturdy, stay-at-home defender whose impact is greater on the ice than in any fantasy format. He has five points and 21 shots in 24 games.

Simon Edvinsson D | DET
Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson: Two helpers against Caps
Edvinsson collected two assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over Washington.
The 22-year-old blueliner had a hand in Detroit's first and last goals of the afternoon. Edvinsson has gotten onto the scoresheet in four of 12 games since returning from an illness that cost him three contests in late November, producing one goal and six points over that stretch with 19 blocked shots, 17 shots on net, 15 hits and a plus-9 rating.

Moritz Seider D | DET
Red Wings' Moritz Seider: Two points in Saturday's win
Seider produced a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Capitals.
Both points came in the second period as the Red Wings surged out to a 4-0 lead. It's Seider's second multi-point performance in the last three games, and through 10 contests in December, the 24-year-old blueliner has delivered an impressive two goals and 10 points with 26 blocked shots, 18 shots on net, 14 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-8 rating.

Andrew Peeke D | BOS
Bruins' Andrew Peeke: Puts away goal
Peeke scored a goal on four shots, added three hits and logged two PIM in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Canucks.
Peeke has three goals and an assist over his last seven games, which follows a stretch of 13 outings without a point. The defenseman wasn't going to stay cold forever, but don't expect him to sustain his recent scoring success for much longer. He's at three goals, eight points, 44 shots on net, 50 hits, 73 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 36 appearances. Those numbers are in line with what he did last campaign (17 points in 76 contests). Still, he has played in a top-four role with more regularity this season, which could allow him to do a little better by the end of the year.

Brandon Montour D | SEA
Kraken's Brandon Montour: Out again Saturday
Montour (undisclosed) will be out of action for Saturday's game versus the Sharks, per Emerald City Hockey.
Montour will miss his second straight game with the injury. The 31-year-old's ongoing absence has kept Josh Mahura in the lineup. Montour's next chance to play is Monday versus the Ducks, which is the first half of a back-to-back, but there's been no update on his status since he was injured against the Avalanche on Tuesday.

Travis Sanheim D | PHI
Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Rare power-play goal
Sanheim scored a goal and added an assist Saturday in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Rangers.
Sanheim's goal came on the power play; it was his first goal with the man advantage since he put up two in 2018-19. He isn't known for his offense per se, but he did put up 44 points, including 10 goals, in 2023-24. At this point, Sanheim is on pace for 38 points, 63 blocks and 106 shots this season. That may be the perfect fit for the bottom of your lineup in deep formats.

Tyler Kleven D | OTT
Senators' Tyler Kleven: Unavailable for Sunday
Kleven (lower body) won't play Sunday in Boston, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Kleven scored a goal during Saturday's game against Chicago, but he later left the match due to the injury. Nikolas Matinpalo is likely to draw into the lineup Sunday due to Kleven's absence.

Sam Rinzel D | CHI
Blackhawks' Sam Rinzel: Trio of helpers in AHL win
Rinzel had three assists in AHL Rockford's 7-3 win over Manitoba on Saturday.
Rinzel's getting his groove back in the AHL, and it's going well so far. He's racked up seven helpers and nine shots on net, as well as a plus-1 rating, over four appearances. Rinzel seems likely to get another look with the big club this year, though it may take another blueliner needing a stint in the minors for him to earn a call-up.
