  • Penguins' Samuel Girard: Nabs assist in return

Girard logged an assist in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Jets.

Girard missed the previous five games due to an upper-body injury. The 27-year-old blueliner helped out on a Rickard Rakell tally in the first period. This was Girard's first assist in eight games with the Penguins, and he's up to 13 points, 36 shots on net, 45 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 48 appearances between Pittsburgh and Colorado. Girard hasn't looked great with his new team, but he could get a larger role if Ryan Shea (upper body) misses time.

  • Red Wings' Travis Hamonic: No games since Olympic break

Hamonic was scratched for the 12th game in a row in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Bruins.

Hamonic hasn't played since Feb. 4 in Utah. The Red Wings have a rare glut of right-shot blueliners, and it's most often been Hamonic and Axel Sandin-Pellikka who are stuck out of the lineup. The 35-year-old Hamonic has just two assists with a minus-10 rating, 27 hits, 41 blocked shots and 29 PIM over 25 appearances this season. With the Red Wings in a playoff race, they may be more inclined to turn to a veteran like Hamonic if they need to make a change on the blue line down the stretch, but he's unlikely to play his way into the fantasy picture.

  • Bruins' Charlie McAvoy: Provides two helpers in win

McAvoy notched two assists, including one on the power play, and levied six hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings.

McAvoy has four goals and eight helpers over 11 contests in March after putting together his third multi-point effort of the month. The 28-year-old defenseman is up to nine goals, 53 points, 95 shots on net, 68 hits, 104 blocked shots, 52 PIM and a plus-8 rating over 58 appearances. He's just three points shy of his career-high 56 from the 2021-22 campaign -- McAvoy has a real chance at 60 points for the first time if he can stay healthy and productive down the stretch.

  • Bruins' Nikita Zadorov: Tallies game-winner Saturday

Zadorov scored a goal, went plus-2, added two hits and blocked four shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings.

Zadorov ended his nine-game point drought at 9:42 of the third period, and his goal stood as the game-winner. The 30-year-old defenseman is in the lineup for his physical work, but he can still chip in decent offense at times. He's at two goals, 19 points, 89 shots on net, 93 blocked shots, 134 PIM, 165 hits and a plus-19 rating over 69 appearances this season while averaging a career-best 21:05 of ice time.

  • Islanders' Matthew Schaefer: Keeps marching toward history

Schaefer scored a power-play goal on three shots, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Canadiens.

Schaefer is now one goal away from tying Brian Leetch's record of 23 for the most goals by a rookie defenseman. The 18-year-old Schaefer briefly tied this contest at 3-3 in the third period before the Canadiens took over. The Olympic break appears to have refreshed the phenom, who has six goals and six helpers over 12 contests since the NHL schedule resumed. He's at 22 goals, 51 points, 176 shots on net, 96 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating over 70 appearances. Schaefer's 22 goals put him just one behind Jakob Chychrun for the lead in goals among NHL blueliners this season.

  • Canadiens' Jayden Struble: Offense quiet in part-time role

Struble has just one helper in seven games since the Olympic break after his sixth straight scoreless outing in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Islanders.

Struble is seeing a bit more playing time than Arber Xhekaj, but both blueliners have received limited opportunities on the third pairing. Struble has nine assists, 14 shots on net, 85 hits, 18 blocked shots and 40 PIM over 46 appearances. He's not as overtly physical as Xhekaj, so Struble is a fine depth defenseman on the ice but not much of a factor in fantasy.

  • Kaiden Guhle D | MON

Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Rare burst of offense in win

Guhle scored a goal on three shots, dished two assists, went plus-3, added 14 PIM, doled out two hits and blocked four shots in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Islanders.

Guhle was all over this game, and it was his goal that stood as the game-winner. He had earned just five assists over 23 outings since returning from a groin injury in early January. The 24-year-old defenseman is better known for his physical play, but he can chip in offense as well. He's at two goals, 10 points, 31 shots on net, 60 hits, 47 blocked shots, 31 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 29 appearances this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Another three-assist effort

Werenski had three assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Kraken.

Werenski was coming off a three-assist performance in the 6-3 win over the Rangers on Thursday, and he delivered the same output in this win over Seattle. The 28-year-old blueliner has 12 assists across 10 games since returning from the Olympics and continues to be one of the most prolific offensive defensemen in the NHL. Werenski has 75 points (20 goals, 55 assists) in 61 games, and he ranks second in total points among defensemen, trailing only Evan Bouchard's total of 78.

  • Max Psenicka D | UTA

Mammoth's Max Psenicka: Two points in Portland's loss

Psenicka scored a goal and added an assist in WHL Portland's 5-4 overtime loss to Seattle on Saturday.

Psenicka reached the 30-point mark for the year with this performance. He's added 67 PIM, 114 shots on net and a plus-3 rating over 53 appearances. Psenicka has four points over his last two games to bring some momentum late in the campaign.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Pots goal Saturday

Hronek scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Blues.

Hronek pulled one back for the Canucks at the 8:32 mark of the third period, but in the end, his eighth goal of the season wasn't enough to mount a comeback. Hronek has three goals and seven total points over his last nine outings, so he remains a valuable fantasy commodity from his blue-line role. Over 69 games this season, Hronek has eight goals and 39 total points.
