  • Wild's Jared Spurgeon: Scores on power play Monday

Spurgeon scored a power-play goal on two shots and blocked three shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.

Spurgeon's first goal and point of the season opened the scoring at 14:04 of the first period. The 35-year-old defenseman has surprisingly occupied a spot on the second power-play unit instead of Brock Faber, though neither of them is challenging Zeev Buium's spot on the first unit. Spurgeon has added four shots on net, three hits, seven blocks and a minus-4 rating through three contests. He's a steady top-four blueliner, and if he retains a power-play spot, he'll have appeal as a depth option in fantasy.

  • Senators' Donovan Sebrango: Lands on waivers

Sebrango was placed on waivers Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Sebrango has notched just one hit, one shot on goal, five PIM and a minus-1 rating across two games this season. The left-shot blueliner will report to AHL Belleville, where he recorded 20 points over 50 games in 2024-25, if he passes through the waiver wire.

  • Nick Seeler D | PHI

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Snags assist Monday

Seeler posted an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.

Seeler has been skating on the top pairing to begin 2025-26, though that somewhat speaks to the Flyers' lack of trusted defensive depth. The 32-year-old is a fine shutdown blueliner -- he's already picked up eight hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over three games. He had a career year in 2024-25 with 20 points, as well as 125 hits, 200 blocks and a plus-10 rating in 77 regular-season outings.

  • Blue Jackets' Ivan Provorov: Helpers in consecutive contests

Provorov notched an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Devils.

Provorov has a helper in each of the last two games, accounting for all of his offense through three contests. The 28-year-old blueliner is in a top-four role with time in all situations to begin the year, though he could eventually lose out on some power-play time to Denton Mateychuk. Provorov has added seven shots on net, six blocks and a plus-4 rating to begin 2025-26.

  • Devils' Brenden Dillon: Bags apple in win

Dillon registered and assist, four hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Dillon picked up his first point in three games when he helped out on Dawson Mercer's empty-netter. The 34-year-old Dillon is a stalwart on the third pairing and already has nine hits and seven blocked shots this season. He offers little scoring upside but should remain a steady presence in the physical categories -- he has at least 190 hits and 100 blocks in each of the last four seasons.

  • Ben Chiarot D | DET

Red Wings' Ben Chiarot: Assists on game-winner

Chiarot registered an assist, two hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

Chiarot generated a rebound for Mason Appleton to knock home for the game-winning goal at 19:15 of the third period. The 34-year-old Chiarot is a shutdown blueliner in a top-four role for the Red Wings, so he won't often be active on offense. He has a helper, one shot on goal, eight hits, five blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through three contests this season.

  • Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Notches first helper

DeAngelo registered an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.

DeAngelo set up a Jean-Gabriel Pageau goal in the second period. The 29-year-old DeAngelo was penciled in for top duties to begin 2025-26, but Matthew Schaefer has hit the ground running. That has led to DeAngelo seeing his ice time drop both at even strength and on the power play, which will mean a decline in offense as well. His helper Monday was his first point to go with seven shots on net, six blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over three contests.

  • Alec Regula D | EDM

Oilers' Alec Regula: Suffers undisclosed injury

Regula is dealing with an undisclosed injury that will sideline him for at least Tuesday's matchup with the Rangers, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.

Regula is still expected to play at some point during the Oilers' five-game road trip. Depending on how long the 25-year-old blueliner is going to be out, he could be placed on injured reserve to clear a roster spot for Jake Walman (undisclosed), who is expected back for Thursday's matchup versus the Islanders.

  • Jake Walman D | EDM

Oilers' Jake Walman: Hoping to play Thursday

Walman (undisclosed) is targeting a return to action versus the Islanders on Thursday, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.

Walman will be shelved for Tuesday's clash with the Rangers but looks poised to return on Long Island. Once the blueliner is cleared to play, he should be in contention for a spot with the No. 2 power-play unit. Troy Stecher will likely go back up to the press box as a healthy scratch once Walman is back on the blue line.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Pockets two helpers in win

Sanheim recorded two assists, one shot on net, one blocked shot and a plus-4 rating in Monday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.

The 29-year-old continues to come through in a big way on the Flyers' patchwork blue line, as the team is currently missing regulars Cam York (lower body) and Rasmus Ristolainen (triceps) as well as top prospect Oliver Bonk (upper body). Sanheim has a goal and three points through the first three games of the season while averaging a massive 27:15 TOI, but his minutes and role will shrink once the roster gets healthier.
