  • Oliver Bonk D | PHI

    Flyers' Oliver Bonk: Deemed day-to-day

The Flyers announced Thursday that Bonk (upper body) is considered day-to-day.

The Flyers indicated earlier this week that Bonk is dealing with an upper-body injury, and it wasn't clear whether he'd be cleared for contact by the start of training camp. It appears as though he'll have some limitations to begin camp, but his day-to-day designation suggests that his injury is considered relatively minor. If he can return to full health early in training camp, the 20-year-old could have an opportunity to compete for a spot on the Opening Night roster.

  • Josh Jacobs D | MON

Canadiens' Joshua Jacobs: Recovering from minor injury

The Canadiens announced Thursday that Jacobs is rehabbing a small injury, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.

Jacobs hasn't appeared in an NHL game since the 2019-20 season, and his ailment to begin training camp this year could hinder his chance of earning a spot on the Canadiens' Opening Night roster. He made 26 appearances with AHL Laval last season and recorded a goal, four assists and 14 PIM. If he's left off the Canadiens' roster to begin the regular season, he'll likely head back to the minors.

  • Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Skating in non-contact jersey

Fehervary was skating in a non-contact jersey Thursday for precautionary reasons, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.

Fehervary suffered a knee injury late in the 2024-25 regular season and was unavailable for the playoffs. However, he resumed skating during the offseason and was expected to be ready for training camp. It's not yet clear whether Thursday's limitations were related to his knee issue, but it certainly seems possible that he'll be deemed healthy in time for Opening Night.

  • Cameron Reid D | NSH

Predators' Cameron Reid: Out with upper-body issue

Reid is missing from training camp Thursday due to an upper-body injury, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports.

Reid was almost certainly going to head back to OHL Kitchener for the upcoming season, but any missed days due to injury are only going to further cement his status as an OHL player. Selected by the Preds in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft, Reid notched 14 goals and 40 helpers in 67 regular-season tilts for the Rangers before adding five assists in 14 playoff contests.

  • Hurricanes' K'Andre Miller: Sporting non-contact sweater

Miller (upper body) took the ice in a non-contact jersey at training camp Thursday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.

It seems Miller hasn't fully recovered from offseason surgery to address an upper-body issue. There hasn't been any indication from the team that this problem will linger into the regular season, but it's certainly something fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on. Last season, the 25-year-old Minnesota native failed to get over the 30-point threshold but should be capable of achieving that mark if he avoids any lengthy stints on the sideline.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Undergoes minor procedure

The Kraken announced Wednesday that Montour had a bursa removed from his ankle earlier in September and is expected to miss two weeks.

Montour will be sidelined for at least the first half of training camp, though he may still have the time to get into a game or two late in the preseason. With Montour out, look for Ryker Evans to get more power-play looks during exhibition games. If Montour's recovery takes longer, Josh Mahura would be a candidate to step into the lineup.

  • Wyatt Kaiser D | CHI

Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Avoids holdout with two-year deal

Kaiser signed a two-year, $3.4 million contract with the Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Kaiser and the Blackhawks were able to come to terms on the eve of training camp, getting the defenseman under contract after a prolonged negotiation. The 23-year-old will be in the mix for a bottom-four role this season, though the Blackhawks have a number of young defensemen that could see playing time, which may lead to Kaiser getting the occasional healthy scratch. He produced eight points, 66 shots on net, 54 hits and 93 blocked shots over 57 games in 2024-25.

  • Penguins' Jake Livingstone: Gets PTO chance

Livingstone will attend the Penguins' training camp after signing a professional tryout prior to camp opening Thursday.

Livingstone has just five games of NHL experience under his belt from the 2022-23 season. The 26-year-old blueliner will likely have to settle for a two-way contract at best if he's able to impress the Penguins' brass during camp. He had just 16 points in 59 regular-season games with AHL Milwaukee last year.

  • Kris Letang D | PIT

Penguins' Kris Letang: Appears ready for training camp

Letang (chest) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.

Letang underwent a procedure in April to repair a small hole in his heart. The 38-year-old defenseman is set for his 20th campaign with the Penguins, and assuming he can get through camp healthy, he should be penciled in for time in a top-four role and on one of the power-play units.

  • Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Clear of injury prior to camp

Christiansen (upper body) is not listed with an injury on the Blue Jackets' training camp roster released Wednesday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.

Christiansen's injury cost him four games at the end of 2024-25. The 26-year-old blueliner is poised to compete for a third-pairing spot in the lineup this season, but there's no guarantee he'll be able to carve out a regular role, as he'll have to prove himself over Denton Mateychuk (groin), who will be limited to start camp. Christiansen saw action in 68 games last year, earning eight points with 65 blocked shots and 50 hits despite averaging just 12:32 of ice time per game.
