  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Won't play in series opener

Chatfield (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Panthers on Tuesday, Pat Welter of WRAL reports.

Chatfield's status has been up in the air between rounds after he missed Game 5 of the second round against the Capitals. The 29-year-old blueliner will be out for a second straight game despite partaking in Tuesday's morning skate. Scott Morrow will make his playoff debut while Chatfield will attempt to be ready for Thursday's Game 2.

  • Jets' Josh Morrissey: Won't need knee surgery

Morrissey (knee) stated Tuesday that he will not require surgery for the injury he sustained in Game 6 against the Stars, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Morrissey also said that his knee injury probably would have kept him sidelined for the remainder of the playoffs had the Jets advanced past the Stars. It's unclear if Morrissey will be ready for the start of training camp in September, but he has plenty of time to attempt to make a full recovery. The left-shot blueliner has two seasons remaining on the eight-year, $50 million contract he signed with Winnipeg in September of 2019.

  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Game-time call Tuesday

Chatfield (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Game 1 against the Panthers on Tuesday, according to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour said that Chatfield wants to suit up for the opening matchup of the Eastern Conference Finals, but a determination on the 29-year-old's status has yet to be made. If Chatfield is unable to play in Game 1, Scott Morrow, who hasn't made an appearance in the 2025 postseason, is an option to draw into the lineup, per Ruff. The Hurricanes have been off since Thursday after defeating the Capitals in five games, while the Panthers emerged victorious over the Maple Leafs in Game 7 on Sunday.

  • Capitals' Alexander Alexeyev: Arrested Saturday

Alexeyev was arrested for public intoxication in Virginia on Saturday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

According to the report, Alexeyev was pepper-sprayed after police officers observed him allegedly assaulting a male individual. Alexeyev was treated for pepper-spray exposure by paramedics at the scene, and he was booked at Arlington County jail and later released. A court date has yet to be set for Alexeyev, who is a restricted free agent heading into 2025-26.

  • Nick Jensen D | OTT

Senators' Nick Jensen: Has surgery Monday in New York

Jensen had a procedure in New York on Monday to address a lower-body injury, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

According to Garrioch, the surgery went "as planned" for Jensen, but it's unclear how long the 34-year-old blueliner's recovery will take. However, Jensen relayed during the team's exit interviews that he was "hopeful" he would be ready for the start of training camp in September. Jensen should play a meaningful role in the top four again in 2025-26 for a Senators club that made the postseason in 2024-25 for the first time in eight years, provided that he doesn't suffer any setbacks in his recovery this summer. The Minnesota native did not record a point in six games against Toronto in the first round of the 2025 postseason but managed 20:55 of ice time per game, an impressive feat considering he was dealing with a lingering injury.

  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Status unclear for Tuesday

Chatfield (undisclosed) didn't participate in Monday's practice, leaving his availability in doubt for Game 1 against Florida on Tuesday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.

Chatfield missed Thursday's series-clinching win over Washington and hasn't been practicing. His availability for Game 1 against Florida will be determined after Tuesday's morning skate. The 29-year-old blueliner has contributed one goal, eight shots on net, 11 blocked shots and nine hits through nine appearances this postseason. If Chatfield is unavailable to play against the Panthers, Scott Morrow, Alexander Nikishin, Riley Stillman and Ty Smith are potential replacements for Tuesday's lineup.

  • Seth Jones D | FLA

Panthers' Seth Jones: One of each in win

Jones scored a goal on four shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 7.

Jones opened the scoring at 3:15 of the second period, and he added a helper on a Jonah Gadjovich tally later in the frame. This performance ended a four-game slump for Jones. The 30-year-old defenseman has been steady this postseason with three goals, three assists, 17 shots on net, 28 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 12 outings. He's playing massive defensive minutes, though he still has some scoring upside as a supporting scorer.

  • Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Supplies assist Saturday

Heiskanen logged an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Jets in Game 6.

Heiskanen picked up two assists, six shots on net, four hits and a minus-1 rating over three games versus the Jets after returning from a long-term knee injury. His ice time has ticked steadily upward -- he saw 23:40 in this contest, which had just 1:33 of overtime before it ended. The Stars held a series lead throughout the time Heiskanen's been back, allowing them to ease him in. That will likely end in the Western Conference Finals, as the 25-year-old will be tasked with shutting down Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in a rematch of last year's matchup in the same round, which the Oilers won in six games.

  • Stars' Thomas Harley: Two points in series-clinching win

Harley scored a power-play goal on three shots, added an assist and blocked two shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Jets in Game 6.

Harley set up Sam Steel's game-tying goal in the second period. In overtime, Harley cashed in on a power play that carried over from the end of the third, tallying the series-clinching goal 1:33 into the extra session. As if more proof was needed, Harley is showing why he is already one of the top blueliners in the NHL at 23 years old. He's racked up four goals, 11 points, 24 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 18 hits and a minus-5 rating over 13 playoff outings while seeing some of the heaviest defensive minutes.

  • Jets' Josh Morrissey: Needs further evaluation

Morrissey sustained a knee injury in Saturday's Game 6 loss to the Stars, and head coach Scott Arniel specified that the injury is "not good," Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.

Morrissey was injured when Mikko Rantanen fell on his leg in the second period. Given the update from Arniel, it's likely Morrissey would have missed some time had the Jets been able to extend their season. The severity of the injury may be revealed once the defenseman is evaluated back in Winnipeg. If surgery is required, this injury may impact his availability for training camp and the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
