  • Blues' Philip Broberg: Scores OT winner

Broberg netted the game-winning goal in overtime, tallied three shots on net and blocked three shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks.

With just over a minute remaining in Thursday's extra period, Broberg tallied his second game-winning goal of the season. Overall, the 23-year-old defenseman is up to seven goals, 22 points, 87 shots on net and 75 blocks in 57 appearances this season. Thursday's game-winner ended a nine-game drought without a goal for Broberg, who now has four markers since early February. He also received a team-high 24:57 of ice time, which highlights the level of trust head coach Jim Montgomery has in his blueliner. While Broberg has a small amount of value in deeper leagues, he has a bright future ahead and has settled in nicely on the Blues' second defensive pairing. If he can get hot down the stretch, however, he is worth a look in some formats with his ice time at even strength and on the second power-play unit.

  • Joel Hanley D | CGY

Flames' Joel Hanley: Snaps drought with assist

Hanley logged an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Devils.

Hanley ended a six-game point drought when he helped out on a third-period tally by Connor Zary. The 33-year-old Hanley has quietly taken on a top-four role coming out of the 4 Nations Face-Off break. His offense is limited -- he has just three points over his last 13 games -- but he provides a steady layer of defense on a pairing with MacKenzie Weegar. Hanley is up to six points, 29 shots on net, 69 blocked shots, 43 hits and a plus-7 rating over 40 outings in 2024-25.

  • Flames' Daniil Miromanov: Lights lamp Thursday

Miromanov scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Devils.

Miromanov has played in three of the Flames' last four games. He's been out of the lineup more often than not since the start of January, playing in just 11 of 31 contests while picking up two points in that span. The defenseman has two goals, eight points, 47 shots on net, 53 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 40 appearances this season. It's a career year for him, but the uncertainty in his playing time makes him tough to roster in most fantasy formats.

  • Sam Malinski D | COL

Avalanche's Sam Malinski: Picks up assist in win

Malinski logged an assist, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Senators.

Malinski has played in three straight games, and he has four helpers and a plus-7 rating over six outings in March. The 26-year-old defenseman's spot in the lineup is safe as long as both of Samuel Girard (lower body) and Josh Manson (upper body) are out. Malinski has found himself a healthy scratch at times this season, but he has a career-high 11 points with 88 shots on net, 92 blocked shots, 49 hits and a plus-11 rating over 64 appearances.

  • Sharks' Lucas Carlsson: Joining NHL roster

Carlsson was promoted from AHL San Jose on Friday.

Carlsson's addition to the roster comes as Jimmy Schuldt was sent down in a corresponding move. The 27-year-old Carlsson hasn't appeared in an NHL game since the 2022-23 campaign when he was with the Panthers. Unless Marc-Edouard Vlasic (upper body) is cleared to play against the Bruins on Saturday, Carlsson figures to slot into a third-pairing role.

  • Sharks' Jimmy Schuldt: Sent back to minors

Schuldt was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Friday.

Schuldt was called up by the Sharks on Wednesday, and he logged 13:53 of ice time during Thursday's loss to the Hurricanes. However, he's been moved between the AHL and NHL clubs frequently in recent weeks and will head back to the minors after Lucas Carlsson was recalled Friday.

  • Red Wings' Erik Gustafsson: Facing extended absence

Gustafsson (undisclosed) is expected to miss an extended period of time, the Red Wings announced Friday, though an official timeline hasn't been determined.

Gustafsson's prognosis, limited though it may be, would explain why the team brought up Brogan Rafferty from the minors to provide some extra depth. In Gustafsson's absence, William Lagesson figures to slot into the third pairing, though he'll find himself relegated to the press box again once Jeff Petry (undisclosed) is cleared to play.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Two points in Ottawa

Makar scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Senators.

Both points came in the first period as Colorado roared out to a 4-0 lead. Makar continues to pile up points, leading all NHL defensemen with 26 markers and 81 points through 70 appearances, and he's got a shot at recording the first 30-goal campaign by a blueliner since Mike Green potted 31 for the Capitals in 2008-09.

  • Red Wings' Brogan Rafferty: Promoted from minors

Rafferty was elevated from AHL Grand Rapids under emergency conditions Friday.

Rafferty hasn't appeared in an NHL game since 2020-21 when he was with the Canucks. In the minors, the blueliner has generated six goals and 13 helpers in 50 appearances for the Griffins. With the 29-year-old's promotion, fantasy players should probably expect Erik Gustafsson (undisclosed) to miss out against Vegas on Saturday.

  • Carson Soucy D | NYI

Rangers' Carson Soucy: Chips in with helper

Soucy notched an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Soucy was back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch for three games. He replaced Urho Vaakanainen on the second pairing, though Soucy was last among Rangers' defensemen with 16:01 of ice time. The 30-year-old blueliner has two points in five outings as a Ranger, and he's up to 12 points, 66 shots on net, 95 hits, 96 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 64 appearances this season.
