Mattias Ekholm D | EDM
Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Set to return Tuesday
Ekholm (undisclosed) will be in the lineup Tuesday versus Utah, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Ekholm will return to the lineup for the first time since March. 4 after missing the last six games due to his undisclosed injury. The veteran defenseman should slot in on the No. 1 pairing next to Evan Bouchard, but it remains to be seen if he'll receive a cap on his ice time. Jake Walman will slide down to the second pairing as a result of Ekholm's return.

Miro Heiskanen D | DAL
Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Set to miss first round of playoffs
Heiskanen (knee) will probably be unavailable for the opening round of the playoffs, according to Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine on Tuesday.
Heiskanen will miss his 17th straight game against Anaheim on Tuesday. He had knee surgery Feb. 4 and hasn't resumed skating yet, though he has been rehabbing off the ice. Heiskanen has generated five goals, 25 points, 108 shots on net and 85 blocked shots in 50 appearances this season.

Adam Boqvist D | NYI
Islanders' Adam Boqvist: Dealing with UBI and illness
Boqvist (upper body) is dealing with an illness, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday on Tuesday.
Boqvist seems unlikely to play Tuesday against the Penguins considering he's under the weather on top of dealing with an upper-body injury. Tony DeAngelo, Ryan Pulock and Scott Mayfield will round out the right side of New York's blue line if Boqvist is unable to suit up in Pittsburgh.

Owen Power D | BUF
Sabres' Owen Power: Erupts for three points
Power tallied a goal, registered two assists, had two shots on goal and blocked two shots in Monday's 3-2 overtime win against the Bruins.
Monday was Power's best all-around performance this season, as he filled the stat sheet in almost all areas. His marker was the lone goal of the second period and would ultimately send the game to overtime. Both of Power's assists were on separate power plays, and the latter of his two helpers was a shot redirected by Alex Tuch for the game-winning goal. With his performance Monday, Power is up to seven goals, 28 assists, 122 shots on net and 100 blocks in 66 appearances this season. The 22-year-old blueliner set a new career high in goals Monday and tied his career high for points in a season with 35. Power ranks third on the Sabres in helpers and has a bright future in the NHL. In fantasy, Power is heating up and has good value in deeper leagues with the postseason approaching.

Alexander Romanov D | NYI
Islanders' Alexander Romanov: Under the weather
Romanov is contending with an illness, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports Tuesday.
Romanov will presumably be a game-time decision for Tuesday's road game against the Penguins, as he has yet to be ruled out. New York's blue line is currently banged up -- Adam Pelech's (lower body) status for Tuesday is uncertain, and Adam Boqvist is also dealing with an illness. Romanov has contributed four goals, 18 points and a plus-9 rating across 52 appearances in 2024-25.

Joel Hanley D | CGY
Flames' Joel Hanley: Top-pair minutes in loss
Hanley fired one shot on goal and delivered three hits in 18:07 of ice time during Monday's 6-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Hanley has been playing as a complement to MacKenzie Weegar on Calgary's top defensive pair, but the offensive production has not been there. The 33-year-old has just one goal and four assists on the season. It's hard to expect too much more -- Hanley has never had more than two goals or eight points in any season of his NHL career.
-
Michael Callahan D | BOS
Bruins' Michael Callahan: Promoted from AHL
Callahan was recalled from AHL Providence on Tuesday.
Callahan has accounted for one goal, seven helpers, 28 PIM and a plus-4 rating across 43 contests with Providence in 2024-25. The left-shot blueliner has not generated a point over 11 appearances with Boston this season. He could compete with Ian Mitchell for playing time on the third pairing.
-
Mattias Samuelsson D | BUF
Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: On big scoreless streak
Samuelsson was minus-1 and blocked one shot in 19:06 of ice time in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Bruins.
Samuelsson has been in and out of the Buffalo lineup lately while dealing with a foot injury. He's now appeared in seven straight games, but he didn't record a point in any of them, extending his scoreless streak to 13 games. The 25-year-old remains stuck on three goals and six assists for the season, but a lack of offense is nothing new for the defenseman -- his career high in points is 10.
-
Jake McCabe D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Logs lots of ice time in win
McCabe recorded two shots on goal, two blocks and one hit in 21:34 of ice time during Monday's 6-2 win over the Flames.
McCabe led all Maple Leafs skaters in ice time Monday (21:34), but that was mostly due to the amount of time Toronto spent shorthanded. The Leafs allowed four power plays and Calgary didn't score on any of them in part because of the work the 31-year-old did shorthanded, out there for over four of the eight minutes on the kill. Unfortunately, shorthanded prowess doesn't necessarily translate to fantasy relevance and with no points in seven games, McCabe doesn't really warrant much fantasy consideration.

Rasmus Andersson D | LV
Flames' Rasmus Andersson: Active on both ends Monday
Andersson recorded a goal, three shots, two hits and three blocked shots in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Andersson extended his point streak to three games with his ninth goal of the season, and the 28-year-old defender has looked active on both ends of the ice of late. Over his last five appearances, he's tallied three points, nine shots on goal, seven hits and 12 blocked shots.
