  • Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Suffers upper-body injury

Carrier will be sidelined 2-4 weeks after sustaining an upper-body injury, the Habs announced Tuesday.

Even if Carrier is on the short end of his recovery timeline, he figures to miss the rest of the regular season. With the blueliner on the shelf, Lane Hutson could see a significant uptick in ice time while Adam Engstrom steps into the lineup. Assuming this is the end of Carrier's regular season, he'll end the year having generated a career-high seven goals to go with 15 assists.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Sustains upper-body injury Monday

Makar has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game versus Calgary due to an upper-body injury.

Makar's last shift came late in the second period, and he wasn't on the bench to start the third. The superstar blueliner racked up three helpers, including two on the power play, and a plus-1 rating in 17:15 of ice time prior to exiting the contest. Until the Avalanche provide more information on Makar's status going forward, the 27-year-old can be considered day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's home game against the Canucks.

  • Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Moves past injury

Kuznetsov (upper body) will be a healthy scratch for Monday's game in Colorado, per Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Kuznetsov hasn't been in the lineup since March 14 versus the Islanders. Joel Hanley (upper body) will miss the rest of the 2025-26 campaign, so Kuznetsov is currently the Flames' seventh blueliner, but it remains to be seen when he'll get back into the lineup. Calgary's next game is Thursday in Vegas.

  • Sabres' Zach Metsa: Heads back to NHL

Metsa was recalled from AHL Rochester on Monday.

Metsa will return to the Sabres just four days after being loaned back to the AHL. During that time, he played a trio of games with Rochester and will return to Buffalo in time for Tuesday's home clash with the Islanders. Across 38 games with the Sabres this season, the 27-year-old bluliner has six points, 22 shots on net and 28 blocked shots. Metsa will likely serve as a depth defenseman during the Sabres' push toward securing their first playoff appearance since the 2010-11 season.

  • Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Brought up from AHL

Engstrom was summoned from AHL Laval on Monday.

Engstrom hasn't earned a point in 11 NHL outings this season while supplying seven shots on net, five blocked shots and four hits. He has notched 10 goals and 24 assists in 45 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Flames' Yan Kuznetsov: Set to miss another game

Kuznetsov (upper body) isn't expected to play against Colorado on Monday.

Despite participating in Monday's morning skate, Kuznetsov will miss his eighth straight game. He has picked up four goals, 12 points, 58 shots on net, 89 blocked shots and 75 hits across 52 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' John Klingberg: Not expected to play

Klingberg (upper body) isn't expected to play against St. Louis on Monday, according to Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.

Despite participating in Monday's morning skate, Klingberg will miss his third straight game. He has compiled 10 goals, 24 points, 79 shots on net, 61 blocked shots and 46 hits over 54 appearances this season.

  • Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Cleared to play Monday

Mintyukov (lower body) will be in the lineup versus Toronto on Monday, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.

Mintyukov returns after missing just one game due to his lower-body problem. The blueliner has scored just once in his last 14 contests while adding two helpers, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't be banking on the 22-year-old offering much in the way of offensive upside.

  • Radko Gudas D | ANA

Ducks' Radko Gudas: Good to go Monday

Gudas (lower body) expects to play against Toronto on Monday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Gudas declared himself good to go after participating in Monday's morning skate. He sat out Saturday's 4-2 loss to Edmonton due to the injury. Monday's matchup will be the first between the Ducks and Maple Leafs since Gudas received a five-game suspension for ending Auston Matthews' (knee) season. The 35-year-old Gudas will probably be a good source of PIM on Monday.

  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Ruled out against Cats

Sanderson (upper body) will not be available versus Florida on Tuesday, Jackson Starr of the Senators' official site reports.

Sanderson has started skating with the team but won't be in action for Tuesday's contest, his 12th straight game on the shelf due to his upper-body issue. If the 23-year-old blueliner can get back into the lineup soon, he should still be capable of getting over the 50-point threshold for the second straight year and would set a new personal best in goals with one more tally.
