  • Roman Josi D | NSH

Predators' Roman Josi: Injured on heavy hit

Josi is being evaluated from an upper-body injury after he was hit by Sam Bennett in the second period of Tuesday's game versus the Panthers, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Josi initially stayed in the game, including playing on the power play after the hit, but the defenseman did not come back to the bench after the second intermission. The Predators have already lost a couple of blueliners -- Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) and Adam Wilsby (upper body) -- for the season, so any absence for Josi will stretch the team's defense even thinner. It also comes at a poor time, as the Predators host the Jets on Thursday.

  • Adam Fox D | NYR

Rangers' Adam Fox: Sustains upper-body injury

Fox (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Islanders.

Fox landed on his left arm following a collision in the third period, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today. K'Andre Miller (lower body) also left the game, so the Rangers are finishing the contest with four defensemen. Given the pair of injuries on the blue line, the Rangers may need to call up another defenseman prior to Friday's matchup versus the Maple Leafs.

  • Rangers' K'Andre Miller: Exits with lower-body injury

Miller (lower body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Islanders.

Miller was injured in the second period. The severity of his injury is not known at this time. If Miller is unavailable for Friday's game against the Maple Leafs, Zac Jones will likely draw into the lineup in a bottom-four role.

  • Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Injured Tuesday

Tanev (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Bruins.

Tanev was injured on his second shift of the game and ultimately couldn't return. He's been critical to the Maple Leafs' defensive structure, so any potential absence looms large for the team, though his defensive style doesn't add much in fantasy. Toronto plays the Rangers on Friday.

  • Wild's Travis Dermott: Lands on waivers

Dermott was waived by the Wild on Tuesday.

Dermott is the odd man out due to Minnesota's blue line being fully healthy -- the club was carrying eight defensemen prior to this transaction. The Ontario native will report to AHL Iowa if he goes unclaimed on the waiver wire. Dermott will be an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of this campaign. The 28-year-old has garnered 16 goals and 62 points over 348 career regular-season games.

  • Golden Knights' Alex Pietrangelo: Stuck in slump

Pietrangelo was held off the scoresheet for the 10th straight game in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Kings.

Pietrangelo is also minus-6 in that span, though he has added 17 shots on net and 24 blocked shots. The 35-year-old pulled out of representing Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off to rest an undisclosed injury, which may still be partially impacting his performance, though it's clearly not yet serious enough to prevent him from playing. For the season, Pietrangelo has 25 points, 101 shots on net, 110 blocks and a plus-6 rating across 55 appearances. He may see a little more playing time in the absence of Shea Theodore (arm).

  • Kings' Jacob Moverare: Sticking in lineup

Moverare continues to play a third-pairing role despite being held off the scoresheet for the 15th straight game Monday in a 5-2 win over the Golden Knights.

During his slump, the Kings have gotten to full strength on the blue line after Drew Doughty (ankle) and Mikey Anderson (finger) got healthy. The Kings have been able to keep Moverare in the lineup by using seven defensemen, though that comes with fellow left-shot Vladislav Gavrikov playing his off side. Moverare has five points, 25 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 23 hits and a plus-4 rating over 37 appearances. Should the Kings opt to go back to six blueliners, he would be at risk of losing time, though Brandt Clarke and Jordan Spence could also be scratched in that scenario.

  • Kings' Joel Edmundson: Pots goal during third-period rally

Edmundson scored a goal and went plus-2 in Monday's 5-2 win over the Golden Knights.

Edmundson has three points and a plus-4 rating over two games since play resumed following the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Swedish blueliner stretched the Kings' lead to 4-2 in the third period. He's two goals shy of matching his career high for a single season, though the defensive nature of his playing style makes it tough to predict if he can get there. He's at 14 points -- his most since 2019-20 -- with 78 blocked shots, 78 hits, 64 shots on net and a plus-20 rating over 51 appearances in a shutdown role.

  • Sharks' Marc-Edouard Vlasic: Playing part-time role

Vlasic suited up and blocked four shots in Monday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Jets.

Vlasic hadn't played in the Sharks' first four games in February, but he filled in for Timothy Liljegren (upper body), who was injured versus the Flames on Sunday. Given that the Sharks are in a rebuild, it's not a surprise to see Vlasic serve as a part-time player at age 37. He has contributed two assists, five shots on net, 13 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over eight appearances this season after missing nearly three months due to a back injury.

  • Penguins' Matt Grzelcyk: Playing against Flyers

Grzelcyk (upper body) will suit up versus Philadelphia on Tuesday, Josh Yohe of The Athletic reports

Grzelcyk will avoid missing any time after being injured against the Rangers on Sunday. The 31-year-old blueliner is currently stuck in a 26-game goal drought during which he has generated just 25 shots. Still, Grzelcyk did chip in 12 helpers over that stretch, including three with the man advantage, and will pair back up with Erik Karlsson.
