  • Lightning's Victor Hedman: Probable for Sunday

Hedman (elbow) is likely to make his return Sunday versus Boston, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.

Hedman hasn't been in the lineup since Dec. 9, but head coach Jon Cooper told reporters Saturday, "Barring him coming in and saying no, which I think is extremely doubtful, he'll most likely be in tomorrow." Hedman does still need to be activated off injured reserve before he can return to the lineup. Should he play Sunday, it will likely be as a member of the top four and first power-play unit. That might result in Darren Raddysh shifting from the top power-play unit to the second grouping, but the 29-year-old has been productive in his current role, providing eight goals and 17 points with the man advantage in 46 outings this season.

  • Sharks' Shakir Mukhamadullin: Set to play

Mukhamadullin (upper body) will be removed from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup against Calgary on Saturday, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.

After missing the last 11 games, Mukhamadullin will replace Timothy Liljegren in Saturday's lineup against the Flames. The 24-year-old Mukhamadullin has registered two goals, four assists, 18 shots on net, 27 blocked shots and 11 hits in 23 appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Vincent Iorio: Claimed off waivers

Iorio was claimed off waivers by the Rangers from San Jose on Saturday, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.

Iorio had three assists, 12 PIM, 10 shots, 11 hits and 32 blocks in 21 outings with the Sharks in 2025-26 before being waived. The Rangers are missing Adam Fox (lower body), so they could use the added defensive depth that Iorio provides. Even so, there's no guarantee Iorio will get into the lineup.

  • Devon Toews D | COL

    Avalanche's Devon Toews: Still unavailable

Toews (upper body) won't play against Detroit on Saturday, per the NHL media site.

Toews is day-to-day now after being considered week-to-week, but he will miss his 13th straight outing. He has accounted for one goal, 13 points, 68 shots on net, 58 blocked shots and a plus-26 rating across 40 appearances this season.

  • Kris Letang D | PIT

Penguins' Kris Letang: Placed on injured reserve

Letang (foot) will miss at least four weeks and landed on injured reserve Saturday.

Letang didn't participate in Friday's practice and won't play until after the Olympic break due to a fracture in his foot. However, his recovery timeline could keep him unavailable to play after the Penguins return to action in late February. He has three goals, 22 assists, 67 hits and 64 blocked shots through 50 appearances this season.

  • Matt Roy D | WAS

Capitals' Matt Roy: Moves to IR

Roy (lower body) was put on injured reserve Saturday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

Roy will miss his third straight game against Carolina on Saturday. It's unclear if he will return to action before the Olympic break. Roy has collected one goal, 13 assists, 67 shots on net, 106 blocked shots and 75 hits across 53 outings this season.

  • Justin Holl D | STL

Red Wings' Justin Holl: Loaned to AHL affiliate

Holl was sent to AHL Grand Rapids on Saturday.

Holl was recalled Thursday and was the extra defenseman in the Red Wings' 4-3 loss to Washington. Holl had two goals and eight assists in 31 AHL games before his recall.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Dishes pair of assists

Werenski logged two assists (one on the power play), three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

This was Werenski's third two-assist game in a row. The 28-year-old continues to roll as the Blue Jackets' best blueliner, and he's tied for the lead among NHL defensemen with 59 points, matching Evan Bouchard. Werenski is at 19 goals, 40 assists, 175 shots on net, 64 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 49 appearances this season.

  • Trey Taylor D | DAL

Stars' Trey Taylor: Earns three assists in AHL win

Taylor recorded three assists in AHL Texas' 6-5 overtime win over Henderson on Friday.

Taylor has earned eight helpers over his last six games. That stretch accounts for half of his 16 points in 41 outings this season, and it shows he's starting to find his rhythm at the AHL level. He's on the first season of a two-year, entry-level contract, so he'll need to continue impressing in Texas to remain part of the Stars' organizational plans in the future.

  • Stars' Ilya Lyubushkin: Joins team on road

Lyubushkin (lower body) has joined the Stars in Utah to skate with his teammates, per Robert Tiffin of D Magazine.

It wouldn't be surprising if Lyubushkin still misses Saturday's game against the Mammoth, but at the least, this is a sign that he's making good progress in his recovery. Lyubushkin has a goal, seven points, 36 PIM, 54 hits and 67 blocks in 39 appearances in 2025-26. When Lyubushkin is ready to return, he will probably serve on the third pairing, potentially in place of Alex Petrovic.
