  • Adam Fox D | NYR

Rangers' Adam Fox: Nabs helper Saturday

Fox logged an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Lightning.

Fox has been limited to two helpers and a minus-2 rating over his last seven contests. The 26-year-old defenseman helped out on Artemi Panarin's goal in the first period. Fox is up to 27 points, 58 shots on net, 47 blocked shots, 23 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 35 appearances. He's still among the top blueliners in the league, though the Rangers' overall struggles lately have taken a toll on Fox's production.

  • Lightning's Ryan McDonagh: First goal of season comes on PK

McDonagh scored a shorthanded goal on two shots and blocked four shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Rangers.

McDonagh's goal was his first of the season and his first shortie since the 2016-17 campaign. The 35-year-old blueliner snapped a seven-game point drought with the tally. He's been a defensive stalwart with a little supporting offense, earning 10 points, 33 shots on net, 67 blocked shots and a plus-21 rating over 33 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Bruins' Brandon Carlo: Notches assist in win

Carlo produced an assist, three shots on goal and four blocked shots in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Blue Jackets.

Carlo played a team-high 21:17, likely a product of the Bruins having a comfortable lead to protect. The helper was his second in five games, a span in which he's gone plus-4 with nine blocks. Overall, Carlo has generated just five points to go with 37 shots on net, 88 blocks, 47 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 38 appearances in a top-four role.

  • Mason Lohrei D | BOS

Bruins' Mason Lohrei: Posts assist in win

Lohrei notched an assist and went plus-4 in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Blue Jackets.

Lohrei's had the occasional poor defensive game, but he looked good Saturday. The 23-year-old defenseman has four assists and a plus-3 rating over his last seven contests. For the season, he's at 16 points (seven on the power play), 29 shots on net, 37 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating over 33 appearances, primarily in a bottom-four role.

  • Capitals' Jakob Chychrun: Snaps skid Satuday

Chychrun recorded a goal, a power-play assist, a plus-3 rating and four shots during Saturday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

Chychrun had been held off the scoresheet in his four previous outings with Saturday's outburst putting him at two goals and eight points in 11 games during the month of December. The 26-year-old filled in so admirably for Alex Ovechkin on the power play during the former's month-long absence that Washington is keeping Chychrun on the top power-play unit for the time being -- which would be a significant boost to his already extensive fantasy value after posting 10 goals and 23 points in 30 games to open the 2024-25 season.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Out Saturday

Gostisbehere (upper body) isn't available for Saturday's game against New Jersey.

Gostisbehere has six goals and 27 points in 35 appearances in 2024-25, including 18 points with the man advance. With Gostisbehere unavailable, Ty Smith will make his NHL season debut.

  • Avalanche's Oliver Kylington: Considered month-to-month

Kylington (upper body) is not progressing in his recovery and is considered month-to-month, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports.

Kylington has not yet been placed on injured reserve, but he could land on the IR list when Jonathan Drouin (upper body) is able to return. Boulding adds Kylington is not doing much activity, so he should not be considered close to a return. Even when healthy, he may not be able to make the lineup on a regular basis.

  • Jake Walman D | EDM

Sharks' Jake Walman: Won't play Saturday

Walman (lower body) won't play against Calgary on Saturday, per Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now.

Walman will miss his third straight game. He has generated five goals, 25 points, 80 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and 30 hits in 31 appearances this season. Henry Thrun and Shakir Mukhamadullin have received increased roles during Walman's absence.

  • John Ludvig D | COL

Avalanche's John Ludvig: On conditioning assignment

Ludvig is joining AHL Colorado for a conditioning assignment, the Avalanche announced Saturday.

Ludvig has been a healthy scratch for 10 consecutive games, so this will give him an opportunity to shake off the rust. He has two assists, six PIM and 16 hits in eight outings with the Avalanche in 2024-25.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Not playing Saturday

Hughes (undisclosed) has been ruled out of Saturday's tilt versus Seattle, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.

Hughes has been dealing with the injury since before the break but had yet to miss a game. The 25-year-old blueliner has tallied eight goals and 34 assists in 34 games this season. Look for either Guillaume Brisebois or Erik Brannstrom to draw into the lineup in place of Hughes.
