  • Capitals' Hunter Shepard: Sent down Saturday

    Shepard was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Saturday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

    With Charlie Lindgren coming off IR, Shepard will return to the AHL. Shepard served as Logan Thompson's backup in Washington's last four contests, though he's yet to see any game action in the NHL this year.

    Woll will defend the road goal versus the Canadiens on Saturday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

    Woll is coming off a 21-save effort in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over New Jersey. He has a 15-8-0 record with one shutout, a 2.66 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 23 appearances this season. Montreal sits 16th in the league with 3.00 goals per game in 2024-25.

    Devils' Jake Allen: Facing Flyers

    Allen will protect the home net versus Philadelphia on Saturday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

    During his last outing, Allen stopped 21 of 23 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Kings on Jan. 1. He has a 5-7-1 record with two shutouts, a 2.83 GAA and an .898 save percentage through 13 appearances this season. Philadelphia is tied for 12th in the league with 3.04 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Sharks' Alexandar Georgiev: Slated to start Saturday

    Georgiev was the first goaltender off the ice at morning practice, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports, and is expected to guard the visiting crease against the Islanders on Saturday.

    Georgiev will make his third consecutive start on the current road trip. The former Avalanche netminder is 2-7-0 with a 3.51 GAA and an .890 save percentage over nine starts since his trade to San Jose on Dec. 9. The Islanders are 27th in NHL scoring, averaging 2.61 goals per game this season.

    Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Starting in Tampa

    Talbot will guard the road net Saturday against the Lightning, Ted Kulfan of The Detroit News reports.

    Talbot has won his last five starts, posting a .906 save percentage in that span. Overall, he's 11-9-2 this year with a .906 save percentage and a 2.93 GAA. Talbot will face a Tampa Bay team that's averaging a league-best 3.63 goals per game.

    Jets' Eric Comrie: In goal Saturday

    Comrie will defend the home crease versus Calgary on Saturday, per John Lu of TSN.

    Comrie is 3-6-1 with a 2.94 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 10 outings this season. He lost in overtime versus the Kings in his last start while turning aside 21 of 23 shots. The Flames are averaging only 2.59 goals per game, which ranks 28th in that category this season.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Facing Maple Leafs

    Montembeault will patrol the home crease versus Toronto on Saturday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

    Montembeault is 4-1-1 with a 2.65 GAA and an .899 save percentage over his last six starts. He is 16-15-3 overall this season. Montembeault was outstanding in a home start versus Toronto on Opening Night, turning aside all 48 shots in a 1-0 win. The Maple Leafs are tied for 12th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.04 goals per game.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting Saturday

    Shesterkin will guard the home net Saturday against the Blue Jackets, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

    It'll be Shesterkin's fifth straight start since returning from an upper-body injury. The 29-year-old netminder has been sharp in his last four outings, going 3-0-1 with a .918 save percentage. Shesterkin will face a Columbus team that's won seven of its past eight games.

  • Blue Jackets' Daniil Tarasov: Between pipes Saturday

    Tarasov will be in the visiting blue paint against the Rangers on Saturday, per Peter Baugh of The Athletic.

    Tarasov picked up his fourth win of the season Tuesday, stopping 23 shots in a 3-2 shootout win over Philadelphia. Tarasov is 4-6-1 with a 3.99 GAA and an .862 save percentage across 11 outings this season. The Rangers are averaging 2.93 goals per game this season, 19th in the NHL.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Returning Saturday

    Lindgren (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup in Pittsburgh on Saturday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

    After missing the last three games, Lindgren will be the backup behind Logan Thompson in Saturday's matchup. The 31-year-old Lindgren is 10-8-2 with a .900 save percentage and 2.65 GAA this season.
