  • John Gibson G | DET

Ducks' John Gibson: Set to start versus Washington

Gibson will defend the road cage against the Capitals on Tuesday, per Derek Lee of The Hockey News.

Gibson was blitzed for six goals in a loss to the Flyers on Saturday. The veteran netminder has a 2-1-1 record, .908 save percentage and 2.81 GAA through five appearances in January. Tuesday's matchup will be a tough test for Gibson -- the Capitals rank second in the NHL with 3.63 goals per game.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Draws home start Tuesday

Binnington will be between the home pipes Tuesday versus the Flames, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Binnington has lost back-to-back games, and he has a 1-2-0 record, .907 save percentage and 2.42 GAA through three appearances in January. Calgary is tied for 26th in the NHL with 2.67 goals per game. The Flames defeated the Blackhawks 5-2 on Monday.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Red Wings' Alex Lyon: Nearing return

Lyon (upper body) participated in Detroit's morning skate but won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's home game versus San Jose, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.

Lyon will miss his third straight game, but he's close to returning to the lineup. He has posted a record of 8-5-0 with one shutout, a 2.71 GAA and a .902 save percentage across 16 appearances this season. Ville Husso will start against the Sharks on Tuesday, and Cam Talbot will be the backup.

  • Sharks' Alexandar Georgiev: In goal against Detroit

Georgiev will protect the road crease Tuesday against the Red Wings, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Georgiev allowed less than three goals in a game in Friday's 2-1 loss to Utah for the first time since Dec. 7. The 28-year-old is mired in a six-game losing streak, and it won't get any easier against one of the hottest teams in the NHL on Tuesday. Detroit has won seven consecutive games and has lost only once since Todd McLellan took over as head coach Dec. 27.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Blanks Kings on Monday

Skinner turned aside all 30 shots he faced in Monday's 1-0 win over the Kings.

A brilliant goaltending duel was settled by a Connor McDavid tally late in the second period, giving Skinner his second shutout of the season -- and second in his last three starts. The 26-year-old netminder has just one regulation loss in his last eight outings, going 6-1-1 with a stellar 1.89 GAA and .930 save percentage.

  • Joseph Woll G | TOR

Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Facing Dallas

Woll will patrol the home crease Tuesday against the Stars, Luke Fox of Sportsnet relays.

Woll surrendered five goals on 33 shots in his last start Thursday versus Carolina. The Missouri native has turned aside 117 of 129 shots through four appearances in January, going 3-1-0 in that span. The Stars lost to Ottawa on Sunday, which snapped a seven-game winning streak.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: No margin for error in Edmonton

Kuemper stopped 29 shots in Monday's 1-0 loss to the Oilers.

The veteran netminder was nearly perfect, but nearly wasn't good enough on a night when the Kings couldn't solve Stuart Skinner. The lone goal Kuemper allowed came late in the second period -- after denying Darnell Nurse from in close while the teams were skating 4-on-4, the rebound went straight to Connor McDavid, who made no mistake. It was Kuemper's first regulation loss since returning in early December from an undisclosed injury, and over his last 11 appearances, he's gone 8-1-2 with a dazzling 1.63 GAA and .940 save percentage.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Set to start in Toronto

Oettinger will be in the road blue paint versus the Maple Leafs on Tuesday, according to Luke Fox of Sportsnet.

Oettinger is in a groove to start the new calendar year, posting a 4-0-0 record, .914 save percentage and 2.16 GAA through four appearances. Toronto sits 12th in the league with 3.07 goals per game. Oettinger is 0-3-0 against the Leafs in his career.

  • Petr Mrazek G | ANA

Blackhawks' Petr Mrazek: Doused by Flames

Mrazek made 31 saves in Monday's 5-2 loss to Calgary.

While Mrazek couldn't really be faulted for any of the pucks that got past him, it was still another rough night for the 32-year-old netminder. Since returning from a groin strain in late December, he's given up at least four goals in five of six outings, stumbling to a 1-5-0 record with a 4.75 GAA and an .850 save percentage over that stretch. Arvid Soderblom hasn't been much better during that span, but Mrazek's hold on the top job in the Chicago crease appears increasingly tenuous.

  • Joey Daccord G | SEA

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Tending twine in Pittsburgh

Daccord was the first netminder off the ice at Tuesday's morning skate, indicating he'll draw the road start versus the Penguins on Tuesday, per Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.

Daccord has made three appearances in January -- he won his only start Saturday in Buffalo but has been forced into relief action twice due to Philipp Grubauer's struggles. The Penguins sit 15th in the league with 2.98 goals per game this season.
