  • Canadiens' Alexis Cournoyer: Shuts out Harvard

Cournoyer posted a 16-save shutout in Cornell University's 4-0 win over Harvard University on Saturday.

This was Cournoyer's first shutout in his NCAA career. While he hasn't racked up shutouts, he has a stellar 17-8-0 record with a 1.93 GAA and a .919 save percentage over 25 starts this season. The Canadiens prospect has looked good, but he will still need more development time beyond this season.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Expected to start Saturday

Vejmelka is expected to start at home against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Vejmelka has a 30-17-3 record, 2.69 GAA and .897 save percentage in 51 outings in 2025-26. He's 0-1-1 with a 3.88 GAA and an .849 save percentage across his past two appearances. Perhaps he'll have better luck against Pittsburgh. The Penguins are 1-3-2 across their past six games and are currently without Sidney Crosby (lower body) and Evgeni Malkin (suspension).

  • Maple Leafs' Artur Akhtyamov: Logs shutout Saturday

Akhtyamov recorded a 26-save shutout in AHL Toronto's 3-0 win over Rochester on Saturday.

Akhtyamov has numbers roughly in line with what he did last year as an AHL rookie, but this was his first shutout of the campaign. He's added an 18-10-4 record with a 2.86 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 32 appearances. He won't get to the NHL as long as Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz are healthy to close out the campaign.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Slated to face Dallas

Gibson is expected to start on the road against Dallas on Saturday.

Gibson has a 24-15-2 record, 2.57 GAA and .906 save percentage in 43 outings in 2025-26. He's gone 0-2-0 while allowing seven goals on 56 shots (.875 save percentage) across his past two appearances. It'll be difficult for him to reverse his recent struggles against Dallas. The Stars are 13-0-1 while averaging 4.21 goals per game across their past 14 matches.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Sharp in Saturday's win

Hellebuyck made 28 saves in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche.

The three-time Vezina winner nearly came away with his first shutout of the season, but Martin Necas snapped a one-timer past him inside the final two minutes of the third period with Colorado's net empty. Hellebuyck has made eight straight starts since the Olympic break as the Jets try to climb back into playoff contention, going 4-2-2 over that span with a .905 save percentage.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Comes up short in Winnipeg

Blackwood stopped 15 of 17 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Jets, with Winnipeg's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Two second-period goals by the Jets made the difference, as Colorado once again struggled to get pucks past Connor Hellebuyck in Winnipeg. Blackwood has been inconsistent since the Olympic break, going 2-3-0 in six outings with an .869 save percentage.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Tough shootout loss Saturday

Thompson turned aside 32 shots in regulation and overtime and eight of nine shootout attempts in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Bruins.

Washington took leads in the second and third periods, only for Charlie McAvoy to put the puck past Thompson each time to tie it up. The 29-year-old netminder then got locked in an epic shootout battle with Jeremy Swayman that was decided when Fraser Minten beat Thompson on the backhand in the ninth round. Thompson has allowed no more than three goals in eight straight outings since the beginning of February, going 4-3-1 over that stretch with a .915 save percentage.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Stellar in shootout Saturday

Swayman stopped 25 shots in regulation and overtime and all nine shootout attempts he faced in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.

After a scoreless first period, the Bruins fell behind by a goal in the second and third frames, only for Charlie McAvoy to bail them out each time. It was Swayman who shone in the shootout, however, as he stifled every Washington skater he saw until Fraser Minten finally found a winner against Logan Thompson in the other crease. Swayman has won four of his last five starts, allowing nine goals on 129 shots (.930 save percentage) over that stretch, and Saturday's win gave him a new career high with 26 on the season.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Slated to start Saturday

Vasilevskiy is expected to start at home against Carolina on Saturday, per Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com.

Vasilevskiy stopped 24 of 25 shots en route to a 4-1 win over Detroit on Thursday. He improved to 30-11-3 with a 2.29 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 44 outings this campaign. Carolina is tied for sixth in goals per game with 3.46 this season.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Guarding goal Saturday

Forsberg will protect the road goal versus the Devils on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Forsberg has played just once in the last five games, allowing four goals on 32 shots in an overtime win over the Blue Jackets on Monday. He has allowed at least three goals in six of his last seven outings. The Devils have scored 21 goals over their last six games, going 4-2-0 in that span.
