  • Colten Ellis G | BUF

Sabres' Colten Ellis: Gets starting nod Thursday

Ellis will protect the visiting cage against the Rangers on Thursday, according to Rangers' insider Jonny Lazarus.

Ellis will make his first appearance since Dec. 9, when he suffered a concussion in Edmonton against the Oilers. Ellis is 4-3-0 with a 3.25 GAA and an .895 save percentage across nine starts this season. The Rangers are generating 2.73 goals per game this season, 27th in the NHL.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: In goal Thursday

Hellebuyck is going through his usual game-day routine and will get the home start versus Edmonton on Thursday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.

Hellebuyck has struggled, just like the Jets. He picked up his last win Dec. 13 versus Washington and is 0-5-4 with a 3.00 GAA and an .878 save percentage in nine starts since his last victory. Overall, the two-time reigning Vezina Trophy winner is 9-11-4 with a 2.63 GAA and a .903 save percentage over 24 starts. The Oilers are fourth in NHL scoring, tallying 3.37 goals per contest.

  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Tending twine Thursday

Korpisalo will patrol the home crease versus Calgary on Thursday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.

It has not been a good campaign for Korpisalo in 2025-26, as the netminder is 6-8-0 with a 3.59 GAA and an .882 save percentage over 15 appearances. He has given up eight goals on 50 shots in his last two outings, losses to Buffalo and Ottawa. The Flames are tied for 30th in NHL scoring this season, generating 2.58 goals per game.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Tending twine against Vancouver

Gibson will defend the home crease against the Canucks on Thursday, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.

Gibson has alternated wins and losses over his last five starts, going 3-2-0 with a 2.63 GAA and .913 save percentage during that time. He made a road start against Vancouver on Dec. 8 and turned aside all 39 shots he saw in a 4-0 victory.

  • Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Facing Devils

Skinner will be between the home pipes versus New Jersey on Thursday, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.

Skinner has won his last two starts with Pittsburgh after starting his Penguins career with three straight losses. The netminder has been sharing the crease with Arturs Silovs and is 13-11-4 with a 2.83 GAA and an .888 save percentage across 28 appearances this season, split between Pittsburgh and Edmonton. The Devils are tied for 30th in NHL scoring this season, generating 2.58 goals per game.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: First goalie off ice Thursday

Vladar is expected to defend the home cage versus Toronto on Thursday, Siobhan Nolan of The Hockey News reports.

Vladar has won his last three games, giving the 28-year-old a 16-6-3 record with a 2.37 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 25 games this season. He has a firm grip on the No. 1 job in Philadelphia, pushing Samuel Ersson to a backup role. The Maple Leafs rank fifth in the NHL this season with 3.36 goals per game.

  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Sharp in Wednesday's win

Fowler made 28 saves in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flames.

Joel Farabee spoiled Fowler's shutout bid late in the second period by sneaking a shot through a screen, but otherwise, the goaltender had an answer for everything Calgary fired his way. The 21-year-old Fowler has allowed two goals or fewer in four of his last five starts, going 3-1-1 with a dazzling 1.80 GAA and .930 save percentage over that stretch as he pushes for the top spot in the Habs' current three-man committee in the crease -- Sam Montembeault and Jakub Dobes have made just two starts each during that time.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Tough middle period Wednesday

Wolf turned aside 31 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens.

After a scoreless first period, Montreal broke through on home ice with three goals in just over five minutes before the midway mark of the second. Wolf's road struggles continue -- back in Calgary, he's gone 10-6-2 with a 2.17 GAA and .925 save percentage, while away from home the 24-year-old netminder is 4-11-0 with a 3.97 GAA and .867 save percentage.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Gets little help in loss

Thompson stopped 32 of 35 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Stars, with Dallas' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

The Capitals didn't even get onto the board until the third period, and their defense was just as flat as their offense, as two of the shots that got past Thompson came from right on his doorstep. The 28-year-old netminder has gone four straight starts without getting into the win column, and since a shutout of the Leafs on Dec. 18, Thompson has stumbled to a 1-5-1 record with a 3.71 GAA and .885 save percentage.

  • Stars' Casey DeSmith: Rights ship for Stars

DeSmith made 23 saves in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Capitals.

The veteran netminder took a shutout into the third period, only for Alex Ovechkin to spoil it with less than three minutes left. DeSmith's sharp performance ended a six-game losing streak for Dallas, and over eight outings since the beginning of December he's gone 4-1-2 with a 2.65 GAA and .911 save percentage.
