  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: In goal Wednesday

Fowler will get the starting nod at home versus the Flames on Wednesday, Patrick Friolet of RDS reports.

Fowler has put together middling numbers in his seven NHL outings this year, posting a 3-2-2 record, a 2.57 GAA and one shutout. With the 21-year-old netminder getting the nod in Wednesday's matchup, Sam Montembeault could get the second half of the back-to-back versus the Panthers on Thursday at home.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Set to face Dallas

Thompson is expected to start at home against Dallas on Wednesday, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Thompson has a 15-11-4 record, 2.37 GAA and .915 save percentage in 30 appearances this season. He's gone winless in his past three outings (0-2-1) while allowing 10 goals on 93 shots (.892 save percentage). He previously faced Dallas on Oct. 28, stopping 18 of 19 shots but suffering a 1-0 loss.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Tough night in Philly

Dostal turned aside 34 of 38 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers, with Philadelphia's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

An early 1-0 lead for Anaheim was quickly erased by Dostal's former teammate, Trevor Zegras, who struck twice before the end of the first period to put Philadelphia in the lead for good. Dostal has lost five straight decisions, going 0-4-1 over his last seven outings with a 4.26 GAA and an .847 save percentage. However, his spot as the Ducks' No. 1 netminder isn't in jeopardy.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Cruises to eighth win

Luukkonen made 32 saves in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Canucks.

He was the busier netminder on the night, as the Canucks outshot the Sabres by a 35-20 margin. However, Luukkonen took a shutout into the third period before seeing it slip away on a Jake DeBrusk power-play tally. Luukkonen has won four of his last five starts to push his record on the season to 8-6-1. His 2.01 GAA and .932 save percentage over that stretch should lock him into the top spot in the Buffalo crease during the absence of Alex Lyon (lower body).

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Rattled by Sabres

Demko stopped 15 of 19 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Buffalo, with the Sabres' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

The Canucks' defense offered very little resistance, and the Sabres built a 4-0 lead before the visitors finally got on the board midway through the third period. Demko hasn't picked up a win in five straight starts, going 0-4-1 with a 3.98 GAA and an .868 save percentage, as Vancouver sinks toward the bottom of the standings.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Allows three goals in win

Bussi turned aside 19 of 22 shots on net in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Stars.

Bussi allowed just one power-play goal in the first period before Carolina's offense put the game out of reach for Dallas. The Stars didn't score again until the third. With the win, Bussi has a 15-2-1 record with a 2.25 GAA and a .906 save percentage through 18 appearances this season. After losing on New Year's Day, the 27-year-old netminder has won back-to-back starts, which has moved him into a tie for 10th across the league in wins. With Pyotr Kochetkov (hip) out for the season and Frederik Andersen struggling to find the win column, Bussi is a must-start player in nearly all fantasy formats and should command the bulk of starts for Carolina moving forward.

  • Stars' Casey DeSmith: Returns to action in relief

DeSmith halted 16 of 17 shots on net in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Carolina.

DeSmith was called upon to make his return to the lineup from a personal matter earlier than expected, as he entered the game following the fifth goal of the night allowed by Jake Oettinger. DeSmith played well in the relief effort, as he gave up just one tally midway through the third period. Overall, the 34-year-old goalie still has a 9-2-4 record, but now holds a .913 save percentage and a 2.41 GAA over 16 appearances this season. Despite Oettinger's rough outing, he firmly holds the starting job over DeSmith, despite the latter's solid numbers on a solid volume of starts. Regardless, DeSmith remains one of the best backups in the NHL and provides excellent value as a spot starter in nearly all fantasy formats.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Pulled in second period

Oettinger stopped 10 of 15 shots on goal in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Hurricanes.

Oettinger struggled immensely in the first 26 minutes of Tuesday's contest, as he allowed five goals, including two in 102 seconds, to lead to his benching. Following Tuesday's loss, the 27-year-old netminder now has a 16-8-4 record with a 2.76 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 28 appearances this season. After one of the strongest starts to the 2025-26 campaign among goalies across the league, Oettinger has lost each of his last four outings and has posted a 4.55 GAA. His recent struggles are noteworthy and could lead to a few extra starts for Casey DeSmith. However, Oettinger's rough patch is likely just a hiccup amidst a long season. Oettinger's next chance to bounce back could come as early as Wednesday's road matchup against Washington.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Losing streak continues

Hellebuyck stopped 27 of 31 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime defeat against the Golden Knights.

Hellebuyck is riding a nine-game losing streak, going 0-5-4 with a 3.00 GAA and a subpar .878 save percentage over that stretch. The 32-year-old is a shell of the dominant netminder he was in the 2024-25 season. Winnipeg has the worst record in the league (15-21-5), and the team's last victory came on Dec. 13 against Washington, when Hellebuyck made 24 saves in his return from arthroscopic knee surgery.

  • Carter Hart G | LV

Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Earns OT win Tuesday

Hart stopped 17 of 20 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Jets.

Hart defended the Golden Knights' crease after not playing in the team's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks on Sunday. He managed to get back to his winning ways after dropping his previous three outings (0-2-1). Hart has made 11 appearances this season, and the results have been uneven. He has a 5-3-3 record with a 3.23 GAA and a brutal .874 save percentage.
