  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Earns first star in win

Gibson turned aside 35 of 38 shots on goal in Monday's 5-3 win over the Senators.

Gibson played with a lead for the majority of the contest, giving him the confidence to post his second-highest save total in a game this season. With the win, the 35-year-old netminder is up to a 14-9-1 record with a 2.94 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 25 appearances this season. Since his stretch of strong play began Dec. 2, he has a 10-2-0 record with a 2.26 GAA and a .925 save percentage across 12 outings. A very small list of netminders have been better during this time, giving Detroit's new 1A option a bright fantasy outlook moving forward. He is a top waiver wire target across most two-goalie formats, and his next chance to take the ice is Thursday against the Canucks.

  • Petr Mrazek G | ANA

Ducks' Petr Mrazek: Sustains injury against Washington

Head coach Joel Quenneville said that Mrazek (undisclosed) was injured during Monday's 7-4 loss to the Capitals, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.

Mrazek was replaced in goal by Lukas Dostal for the start of the third period in the defeat. Mrazek missed a few weeks in December due to a lower-body problem, but it's currently unclear if the reason he left Monday's game was a result of an aggravation of his previous injury. If Mrazek is forced to miss any upcoming games, it wouldn't be surprising to see Ville Husso elevated from the minors. The Ducks will continue their road trip in the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday in Philadelphia.

  • Devin Cooley G | CGY

Flames' Devin Cooley: Not available Monday

Cooley will be sidelined for Monday's home game against the Kraken because of an illness, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Owen Say was recalled from AHL Calgary on Monday and will serve as the No. 2 option behind Dustin Wolf due to Cooley's illness. The Flames have a road back-to-back set against the Canadiens on Wednesday and the Bruins on Thursday, so Cooley will likely get the start for one of those matchups if he's healthy enough to play.

  • Owen Say G | CGY

Flames' Owen Say: Brought up on emergency basis

Say was recalled from AHL Calgary on Monday on an emergency basis, according to Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Devin Cooley isn't suiting up Monday against the Kraken due to an illness, so Say will serve as the No. 2 netminder behind Dustin Wolf. Say holds a 6-7-4 record, .891 save percentage and 3.33 GAA over 18 appearances with the Wranglers in 2025-26.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Tending twine in Calgary

Grubauer will be between the road pipes against the Flames on Monday, per Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network.

Grubauer is riding a three-game winning streak heading into Monday's divisional matchup, a span during which he's posted a phenomenal .970 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA. The Flames have generated 2.66 goals per game this campaign, which ranks 27th in the league. Grubauer is 3-5-1 with a 2.82 GAA and a .917 save percentage across 10 career regular-season appearances against Calgary.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Ruled out for remainder of game

Shesterkin will not return to Monday's game versus the Mammoth due to a lower-body injury.

Shesterkin was injured during the opening frame after a collision with JJ Peterka at the top of the crease. Per Dan Rosen of NHL.com, Shesterkin was unable to put any weight on his left leg and needed to be helped to the locker room. Jonathan Quick will operate as the No. 1 netminder if Shesterkin is forced to miss additional time. The Rangers' next game is at home Thursday against the Sabres.

  • Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Defending home net

Merilainen will patrol the home crease Monday against the Red Wings, according to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.

Merilainen has won back-to-back outings against the Capitals and Jets following a two-game skid. The 23-year-old netminder owns a 6-7-0 record, 3.34 GAA and .875 save percentage through 13 outings in 2025-26. The Red Wings are 2-2-1 in their last five games, a stretch in which they have netted 11 goals.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Inks two-year extension

Annunen signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract extension with the Predators on Monday.

Annunen was traded to Nashville early last season, and he's served as the Predators' backup netminder during the 2025-26 campaign. He's gone 3-5-1 with a 3.29 GAA and .875 save percentage over 12 appearances this year, and he'll now remain under contract with the Predators through the 2027-28 season.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Slated to start Monday

Gustavsson is slated to start Monday's road game against Los Angeles, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Gustavsson and Jesper Wallstedt have alternated starts in recent weeks, and that pattern will continue for Monday's matchup. Despite the timeshare, Gustavsson is in the midst of a successful run in which he's gone 7-0-1 with a 1.75 GAA and .930 save percentage over his last eight starts.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Exits ice first Monday

Kuemper was the first goalie to leave the ice Monday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports, indicating he'll defend the cage at home against the Wild.

Kuemper will make his third straight start since returning from an upper-body injury. The veteran backstop has given up four goals in each of his last two outings, posting a 1-1-0 record and .843 save percentage along the way. Despite his recent struggles, Kuemper has likely earned himself enough leash to play his way into better form.
