Samuel Ersson G | PHI
Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Struggles against Flames
Ersson stopped 20 of 25 shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Flames.
Ersson kept things close for about 30 minutes, but penalty trouble for the Flyers led to two goals for the Flames in the second period. The Flyers, on the second half of a back-to-back, couldn't get back into the game, leaving Ersson with his fifth loss in his last six outings (1-3-2). The 26-year-old netminder is now at a 6-5-4 record with a 3.09 GAA and an .867 save percentage over 15 appearances. Dan Vladar will likely get the nod for a tough matchup Saturday versus the Oilers to close out this five-game road trip.

Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Sharp in win over Flyers
Wolf stopped 25 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Flyers.
Wolf had his best month of the season, going 8-2-0 over 11 appearances to help the Flames dig their way out of the bottom of the standings. The team still isn't scoring a lot, but Wolf has mostly been steady between the pipes to keep them competitive. The 24-year-old is up to a 14-14-2 record with a 2.82 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 31 appearances. The Flames will take on another slow-starting team that has turned things around when they host the Predators on Saturday. Wolf has allowed four goals on 23 shots over two previous appearances versus Nashville this year (one start, one relief outing).

Jordan Binnington G | STL
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Torched for six goals
Binnington stopped 37 of 43 shots in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Avalanche.
The Avalanche put four goals past Binnington within the first 4:39 of the game. Perhaps it was a show of force from Colorado to support their netminders, who both were left off Team Canada's Olympic roster, while Binnington was named to the team earlier in the day. Binnington has skidded to the end of 2025, going 0-3-1 with 18 goals allowed on 116 shots over his last four games. For the season, he's at a 7-10-6 record with a 3.56 GAA and an .869 save percentage over 24 outings, and he's been losing time to Joel Hofer between the pipes lately. Both Binnington and Hofer should get a start within the next two games as the Blues host the Golden Knights on Friday and the Canadiens on Saturday.

MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Light workload in blowout win
Blackwood allowed one goal on 13 shots in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Blues.
Blackwood just missed out on making Team Canada's Olympic roster, but he was able to win over one of Canada's goalies in Jordan Binnington. Blackwood carried a shutout deep into the third period until Dalibor Dvorsky broke it up with 5:28 left. Blackwood has won seven straight outings and has given up two or fewer goals in six of those games. He's 13-1-1 with a 2.07 GAA and a .924 save percentage through 15 appearances this season.

Samuel Ersson G | PHI
Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Set to start in Calgary
Ersson will protect the road goal versus the Flames on Wednesday.
Ersson will get the second half of a back-to-back after Dan Vladar backstopped the Flyers to a 6-3 win over the Canucks on Tuesday. Ersson is 2-2-2 with an .889 save percentage over six outings in December. The Flames have scored 19 goals over their last six games, winning four of them.

Aleksei Kolosov G | PHI
Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Posts shutout Wednesday
Kolosov posted a 31-save shutout in AHL Lehigh Valley's 3-0 win over Hershey on Wednesday.
Kolosov has won two outings following the holiday break after losing six straight prior to the pause. For the season, he's now 8-8-1 with a 2.60 GAA and a .906 save percentage. As evidenced earlier in December, Kolosov is the next man up if the Flyers are missing one of their regular goalies, and he's done a good job of staying ready in the AHL.

Connor Hellebuyck G | WPG
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Protecting net Wednesday
Hellebuyck will start in goal on the road versus the Red Wings on Wednesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Hellebuyck will get the start in his home state as he looks to snap a six-game skid. He's gone 0-3-3 with an .882 save percentage over his last six contests. The Red Wings are a tough opponent, as they've scored 18 goals while going 4-2-0 over their last six games, though three of those wins have required overtime.

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: Facing Blue Jackets
Allen will defend the road net against Columbus on Wednesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Allen will get the second half of New Jersey's back-to-back after Jacob Markstrom played in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Toronto. The 35-year-old Allen has a 10-8-1 record this season with one shutout, a 2.54 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 20 appearances. Columbus ranks 21st in the league with 2.95 goals per game this campaign.

John Gibson G | DET
Red Wings' John Gibson: Guarding home goal
Gibson is expected to start at home against Winnipeg on Wednesday, per Kara Wolfbauer of ESPN.
Gibson has a 12-8-1 record, 3.07 GAA and .891 save percentage in 22 appearances in 2025-26. He saw his eight-game winning streak come to an end when he allowed four goals on 37 shots in a 5-2 loss to Carolina on Saturday. The Jets rank 22nd in goals per game with 2.86.
