  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Makes relief appearance

Soderblom allowed three goals on 15 shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Soderblom was used in relief, entering at 12:03 of the first period after Spencer Knight allowed four goals. Soderblom stayed in for the second but returned to the bench for the third, likely to rest after posting a shootout win over the Stars on Saturday in addition to his 27:57 of action Sunday. The 26-year-old remains at 4-7-1 with a 4.02 GAA and an .873 save percentage in 13 appearances. He's allowed at least three goals in seven straight outings, so he's not in a great position to challenge the struggling Knight for starts. The Blackhawks host the Islanders on Tuesday for their next game.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Rough first period

Knight allowed four goals on nine shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Knight gave up four goals in the first 12:03 of the contest. Arvid Soderblom finished the first period and played all of the second, but Knight returned to the crease in the third to close things out. The loss ended up with Knight since the Blackhawks weren't able to cover his initial damage. It was his fifth regulation loss in a row, but this was by far his worst performance in that stretch. For the season, he's at a 10-11-5 record with a 2.65 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 26 starts. The Blackhawks' next game is Tuesday at home versus the Islanders.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Cruises to win

Silovs stopped 21 of 24 shots in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Silovs was spotted a four-goal lead after the first period, and that was enough. The 24-year-old has won his last two outings despite allowing six goals on 49 shots in that span. He's up to a 6-5-6 record with a 3.21 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 17 appearances. Silovs and Stuart Skinner are currently alternating starts, so it's likely to be Skinner between the pipes for Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes.

  • Calle Clang G | ANA

Ducks' Calle Clang: Cruises to AHL shutout

Clang posted a 15-save shutout in AHL San Diego's 3-0 win over Abbotsford on Sunday.

Clang picked up the first shutout of his AHL career with this effort. He's been good in limited time for the Gulls this season, going 5-1-2 with a 1.96 GAA and a .916 save percentage over nine contests. Clang is a bit buried on the Ducks' organizational depth chart in goal, with Ville Husso typically being the next man up should the NHL club need reinforcements.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: In net versus Philly

Grubauer will patrol the home blue paint against the Flyers on Sunday, according to Joe Pohoryles of Emerald City Spectrum.

Grubauer snapped his three-game losing streak in his last start, turning in a stellar 40-save effort during a 3-1 win over the Ducks on Monday. That was his first victory since Nov. 22, so it's difficult to trust the 34-year-old netminder given that the Kraken rank 31st in the league with 2.54 goals per game. As for the Flyers, they are coming off back-to-back wins against the Canucks and Blackhawks, netting a combined eight goals in those victories.

  • Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Drawing start in Detroit

Hildeby is getting the road start against the Red Wings on Sunday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.

Hildeby has underwhelmed lately, posting a 4.41 GAA and an .851 save percentage while going 0-3-1 across his last four outings. The 24-year-old hasn't gotten into the win column since Dec. 8, when he registered a 29-save shutout win over the Lightning. The Red Wings have generated 3.08 goals per game in 2025-26, which ranks 14th in the NHL.

  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Facing Toronto

Talbot will defend the home crease Sunday versus the Maple Leafs, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Talbot will get the start in the second half of a back-to-back after John Gibson was in goal for Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes. Talbot is 10-6-2 with a 3.00 GAA and an .887 save percentage through 19 appearances this season. The Maple Leafs also played Saturday, picking up a 7-5 win over Ottawa, and they have scored a total of 13 goals in their last two games.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Set to start Sunday

Knight will be between the home pipes against the Penguins on Sunday, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Knight has lost four consecutive games in regulation, posting a 2.81 GAA and a .902 save percentage during that stretch. The Penguins have struggled lately, as they have dropped nine of their last 10 games. This matchup is the second half of a back-to-back for Chicago, while this will be the first game for the Penguins out of the holiday break.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Starting in Seattle

Vladar will guard the road goal against the Kraken on Sunday.

Vladar is coming off a 23-save performance in Monday's 5-2 win over Vancouver. He has a 13-5-3 record this season with a 2.39 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 21 appearances. Seattle sits 31st in the league with 2.54 goals per game this year.

  • Mads Sogaard G | OTT

Senators' Mads Sogaard: Earns shutout in AHL play

Sogaard posted a 31-save shutout in AHL Belleville's 7-0 win over Utica on Sunday.

Sogaard had a fantastic performance, but he also received plenty of support from his offense. This was his first shutout of the campaign and the third of his AHL career. For the season, the netminder is at a 2-6-3 record with a 3.47 GAA and an .885 save percentage. Sogaard could be in line for a call-up to the Senators while Linus Ullmark (personal) is on a leave from the team, though veteran AHL netminder Hunter Shepard has been a little better for Belleville this season and is also on a two-way deal.
