  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Allows one goal in loss

Quick turned aside 30 of 31 shots on net in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Predators. The second goal was an empty-netter.

Quick displayed a fantastic effort Sunday, as he allowed just one even-strength goal before the Predators scored an empty-netter. With the loss, he now has a 3-5-1 record with a 1.78 GAA and a .937 save percentage across nine appearances this season. When he's been called upon to start so Igor Shesterkin can rest, Quick has turned back the clock and played at an elite level. Among goalies with nine appearances or more, he has the best save percentage and GAA. What could be considered even more impressive, however, is the fact that he's lost each of his last five starts and his stats have continued to triumph. The 39-year-old netminder is one of the best spot-start options in fantasy and can still provide value in his 19th NHL season.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Tending twine Tuesday

Rittich will protect the home net against New Jersey on Tuesday, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.

Rittich is coming off a 30-save effort in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to Buffalo. He has a 7-3-2 record with one shutout, a 2.53 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 12 appearances this season. After being recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Monday under emergency conditions, Marcus Hogberg will serve as Rittich's backup to give Ilya Sorokin (undisclosed) some time to rest a nagging injury.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: First goalie off Monday

Demko was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports, signaling that he'll draw the road start against Philadelphia.

Demko rested in the second half of a back-to-back set Saturday, but he'll return to the crease Monday for his fifth start in the Canucks' last six games. The 30-year-old has been stellar during a three-game winning streak, allowing just two goals on 72 shots in that span.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Gets starting nod Monday

Binnington will be between the pipes on the road against the Lightning on Monday.

Binnington will make just his second appearance in the Blues' last six outings, having taken a 2-1 overtime loss to the Rangers on Thursday. He has earned just one victory in his last five contests, posting a 1-3-1 record to go with a 4.64 GAA and .842 save percentage in that span.

  • Jacob Fowler G | MON

Canadiens' Jacob Fowler: Set to start Tuesday

Fowler is slated to start Tuesday's road game against Boston, Patrick Friolet of RDS reports.

Fowler is coming off his first career shutout Saturday against the Penguins, and he'll draw the start in the Canadiens' final game ahead of the holiday break. Across four starts for Montreal this year, Fowler has gone 2-1-1 while allowing 10 goals on 118 shots for a .915 save percentage.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Drawing start Monday

Vladar was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against Vancouver.

Vladar missed Saturday's game against the Rangers due to an upper-body injury, but he was in the starter's crease during Monday's morning skate and will draw the start in the first half of a back-to-back set. The 28-year-old has been solid in recent outings, going 2-0-2 with seven goals allowed on 94 shots (.926 save percentage) in his last four games.

  • Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Returned to AHL

Kolosov was assigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Due to the absence of Dan Vladar (upper body), Kolosov suited up as Samuel Ersson's backup in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Rangers. However, Vladar will return to the lineup in Monday's home matchup against Vancouver. Kolosov has a 6-8-1 record with a 2.77 GAA and a .900 save percentage in 15 AHL appearances this season. In two NHL outings this campaign, including one start, he has gone 0-1-0 while stopping 26 of 28 shots.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Available against Canucks

Vladar (upper body) will be an option for Monday's game versus Vancouver.

The Flyers didn't immediately clarify that Vladar would get the starting nod, but with a back-to-back versus Vancouver and Chicago on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, the 28-year-old netminder figures to start one of those two contests. Through 20 outings this year, Vladar is sporting a decent 12-5-3 record with a 2.41 GAA and .910 save percentage.

  • Islanders' Marcus Hogberg: Summoned from AHL

Hogberg was recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Monday under emergency conditions.

Ilya Sorokin (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup for Tuesday's home game against New Jersey, but he should return to the fold when the Islanders host the Rangers on Saturday. As a result of Sorokin's absence, Hogberg will probably serve as David Rittich's backup in Tuesday's matchup versus the Devils.

  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Won't play Tuesday

The Islanders announced Monday that Sorokin has a "small nagging issue" and will be sidelined through the league's holiday break to rest.

Sorokin began the month of December on a five-game winning streak, but he's gone 0-2-0 with six goals allowed on 50 shots over his last two starts. He rested in the second half of a back-to-back set Saturday against Buffalo and will sit out Tuesday's game against the Devils due to his minor injury. However, he's expected to return to action following the holiday break. David Rittich seems likely to draw the start against New Jersey, while Marcus Hogberg was recalled under emergency conditions Monday.
