Jets' Eric Comrie: Tough outing against Mammoth

Comrie stopped 31 of 35 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Mammoth. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

This was Comrie's first start since March 22, as the Jets rode with Connor Hellebuyck during their failed pursuit of a playoff spot. The 30-year-old Comrie has appeared in a career-high 24 games this season, earning a 12-10-1 record with a 3.00 GAA and an .894 save percentage. The Jets have one game left on the schedule, which is Thursday at home versus the Sharks.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Picks up win over Jets

Vejmelka stopped 21 of 24 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Jets.

Vejmelka was rested versus the Flames on Sunday after appearing in nine straight games to help the Mammoth get into the playoffs. The 29-year-old's win Tuesday locked the team into the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference, guaranteeing they'll face the Pacific Division winner in the first round. Vejmelka has won six of his last seven outings and is up to 38-20-3 with a 2.73 GAA and an .897 save percentage over a league-high 63 games this season. With nothing left to play for, it would be surprising if Vejmelka started Thursday versus the Blues.

  • Jakub Dobes G | MON

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Takes loss in last game of season

Dobes made 21 saves in a 4-2 loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Dobes heads into the postseason with two straight losses, with nine goals allowed in that span. Still, he's been excellent this year with a 29-10-4 record overall, 2.78 GAA and .901 save percentage. The playoffs start Saturday, and Dobes and the Canadiens will start the first round on the road in Tampa Bay.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Ends season on winning note

Ersson made 27 saves in a 4-2 win over Montreal on Tuesday.

Ersson finished the season on a 6-1-0 run in seven starts (nine appearances). Overall, he ended with a 14-11-5 record, 3.12 GAA and .870 save percentage. Dan Vladar will assume the stance in the blue paint with the playoffs starting, so Ersson will take a spot on the bench.

  • Devils' Nico Daws: Recovers after rough first period

Daws made 22 saves in a 4-0 loss to Boston on Tuesday.

Daws had a rough first period. The first goal got past him with just 53 seconds ticked off the clock, and the gates opened. Daws allowed all four goals in the first frame, including two in a 2:10 span at the end of the period. He found his feet after the first intermission, but his teammates didn't show up offensively to help bail him out. Daws delivered a 15-16-8 record with a 2.84 GAA and .891 save percentage in the AHL this season, and he's at the end of his current contract. He'll likely be renewed in his current role for 2026-27, as both Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen are inked for several years.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Climbing franchise wins list

Swayman made 21 saves in a 4-0 victory over the Devils on Tuesday.

It was Swayman's second shutout of the season, and the win snapped a 0-for-April slide (0-3-0 in four starts). Swayman is climbing the Bruins' all-time wins list. He has 132, which ties him with Byron Dafoe for ninth. Next season, and assuming good health, Swayman will pass Andy Moog (136) and Gilles Gilbert (155). A first-round date with the Sabres awaits.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Tending twine Tuesday

Kuemper will guard the road goal versus the Canucks on Tuesday, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.

Kuemper will get the nod in the second half of a back-to-back. The Kings are still playing for positioning, so they'd like to get a win, which would also give Kuemper some confidence going into the playoffs. He's 2-1-3 with 21 goals allowed on 146 shots (.856) save percentage) over his last six games, and he's been on the bench for the previous four games as Anton Forsberg helped the Kings secure their playoff spot.

  • Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Getting start in Calgary

Blackwood will guard the road goal versus the Flames on Tuesday.

Blackwood will get the nod after Scott Wedgewood started Monday in a 2-1 shootout win over the Oilers. The 29-year-old Blackwood has won just one of his last five outings, allowing 16 goals on 126 shots in that span. He's maintained his playing time for now, but if he continues to struggle, he could lose opportunities in the postseason.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Getting start in home finale

Binnington will guard the home goal versus the Penguins on Tuesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Binnington is handling the second half of a back-to-back against a Penguins team making significant lineup changes for rest. The 32-year-old goalie is 4-2-1 with just 13 goals allowed on 161 shots (.919 save percentage) over his last seven games, but he has slipped to second on the depth chart since Joel Hofer has played well down the stretch. The Blues play once more after Tuesday, when they visit the Mammoth on Thursday.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

    Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Facing Wild

Dostal will guard the road goal versus the Wild on Tuesday, per the NHL media site.

Dostal will face a vastly depleted Wild lineup, which sees nine players out of action. The Ducks still have positioning to play for, so they'll turn to their No. 1. Dostal has struggled in April, going 1-3-1 with 20 goals allowed on 120 shots over his last five games.
