John Gibson G | DET
Red Wings' John Gibson: Gets no support in loss
Gibson stopped 33 of 34 shots in Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Golden Knights.
Gibson put in a good performance, but the Red Wings were unable to get a puck past Akira Schmid in the other crease. This was arguably one of Gibson's best performances of the season despite the unfortunate result. He's now 4-4-0 with a 3.03 GAA and an .890 save percentage across eight starts. The Red Wings have alternated goalies over the last week, so it wouldn't be surprising to see that trend continue. If it holds, Cam Talbot would face the Rangers on Friday, and Gibson's next start would come against the Blackhawks on Sunday for the first two games of Detroit's upcoming homestand.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Yields three goals in loss
Vasilevskiy stopped 31 of 34 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Vasilevskiy gave up more than two goals for the first time in four games, and this was his first loss in that span. The Avalanche's pair of quick tallies early in the second period ended up being the difference in the game. The 31-year-old netminder dropped to 3-4-2 with a 2.67 GAA and a .900 save percentage through nine starts, though he has largely bounced back from his slow start to the season. The Lightning's road trip ends with another challenging matchup in Vegas on Thursday.

Scott Wedgewood G | COL
Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Defeats Lightning
Wedgewood stopped 22 of 24 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Lightning.
Wedgewood picked up his third consecutive win. The 33-year-old allowed an early goal to Nikita Kucherov and a third-period tally to Brayden Point. Wedgewood's hot start to the season has faded, but he remains in a good position with the Avalanche's strong offense to support him. He's now 8-1-2 with a 2.49 GAA and a .902 save percentage over 12 appearances. The Avalanche play their next two games in a road back-to-back with stops in Edmonton on Saturday and in Vancouver on Sunday, so look for Wedgewood and Mackenzie Blackwood to split those starts.

Dan Vladar G | PHI
Flyers' Dan Vladar: Gets win after queasy second frame
Vladar made 16 saves in a 5-4 shootout win over Montreal on Tuesday.
His mates staked Vladar to a 3-0 lead by 7:50 of the first period, and things looked solid. That is, until the Habs roared back with four unanswered goals in the second, including two in a 1:03 span. Vladar is 3-2-0 in his last five with 13 goals allowed; eight of those goals have come in his last two starts. We expect the balloon to break for him soon enough, and we're a touch concerned about back-to-back four-goal games. Keep the Vladar faith for now; this might be fatigue talking.

Sam Montembeault G | MON
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Manages point after queasy start
Montembeault made 38 saves Tuesday in a 5-4 shootout loss to Philadelphia.
Things looked grim early when he allowed three goals on the first six shots he faced. However, Montembeault found his game and his confidence, and he helped the Habs earn a point. He needed a strong start with Jakub Dobes outperforming him by a wide margin. The two are splitting games. Dobes is 6-0-0 with a 1.97 GAA and a .930 save percentage, while Montembeault is 3-3-1 with a 3.67 GAA and an .855 save percentage.

Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Shootout loss but signs of life
Sorokin made 24 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss to Boston on Tuesday.
He allowed just one goal in the shootout. Sorokin and the Isles continue to scuffle this season. He's 3-4-2 with a 3.33 GAA and an .879 save percentage in nine starts. That save percentage is 38th in the NHL. His GAA is 55th. Those simply don't compute with Sorokin's career averages of 2.60 GAA and .915 save percentage. There may be some signs of life, though. Sorokin has played four games (1-1-2) with new goalie coach Sergei Naumovs, who successfully coached the netminder in the KHL from 2018-2020. In the four games, Sorokin allowed four goals just once compared to four of his first five games with former goalie coach Piero Greco. You may be able to buy low now before Sorokin really starts to stabilize his game.

Jeremy Swayman G | BOS
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Third win in last four starts
Swayman made 29 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Tuesday night.
He was perfect in the shootout. Swayman appears to be stabilizing his game after a three-game losing streak in mid-October. He's 3-1-0 in his last four contests, with just six goals allowed in the three victories. Unfortunately, Swayman allowed seven in the loss. Overall, he improved his GAA to 3.10, and his save percentage (.897) is inching up.

Darcy Kuemper G | LA
Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Tending twine Tuesday
Kuemper will guard the home goal versus the Jets on Tuesday, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.
Kuemper has allowed nine goals on 88 shots while going 1-1-1 over his last three games. The 35-year-old will make a fourth consecutive start, his longest run between the pipes so far in 2025-26. The Jets are averaging 3.75 goals per game, best in the NHL, which will make this a tough matchup for Kuemper.

Connor Hellebuyck G | WPG
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Starting against Kings
Hellebuyck will protect the road goal versus the Kings on Tuesday, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.
Hellebuyck has allowed exactly three goals in three straight games, but he's come away with wins in each of his last two starts. The 32-year-old netminder will look to keep his success rolling against the Kings, who have averaged a poor 2.77 goals per game so far in 2025-26.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Handling backup duty
Oettinger will be the backup netminder for Casey DeSmith in the Stars' home game versus the Oilers on Tuesday.
Oettinger was away from the team Monday to attend the birth of his child. However, he has since rejoined the Stars and will be in uniform Tuesday. Expect Oettinger to be back between the pipes as soon as Thursday's game versus the Ducks.
