  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Stops 33 shots Tuesday

Sorokin stopped 33 of 36 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Sharks.

Sorokin endured a slow start to the season with three straight losses, but he seems to be turning things around after coming out on top in his last two starts. However, he's still allowed seven goals in those two wins, so he's far from a reliable presence between the pipes. Sorokin has allowed 19 goals on 150 shots across five starts this season, which translates to a 3.90 GAA and an .873 save percentage.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Tending twine against Buffalo

Gibson will start Wednesday's road game against the Sabres, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Gibson will draw a third consecutive start after he went 2-0-0 with a 1.46 GAA and a .940 save percentage over his last two outings. Although he'll be on the road, he has a favorable matchup against the Sabres. Buffalo has averaged just 2.50 goals per game to begin the year, which is the fifth-worst mark in the league.

  • Colten Ellis G | BUF

Sabres' Colten Ellis: Slated to face Detroit

Ellis is slated to guard the home crease against Detroit on Wednesday.

Ellis is getting ready to make his NHL debut. The 25-year-old had a 2.63 GAA and a .922 save percentage in 42 regular-season outings with AHL Springfield in 2024-25. Detroit's on a five-game winning streak and has averaged 3.80 goals per game in that span, so Ellis is starting his NHL career with a tough assignment.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Starting against Montreal

Wolf will start Wednesday's home game against the Canadiens, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Wolf has lost each of his last five starts, posting a 4.17 GAA and an .853 save percentage during that time. He'll attempt to bounce back in Wednesday's outing but will face a tough test, as the Canadiens rank fifth in the NHL with 3.57 goals per game this season.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Winless through three starts

Askarov stopped 23 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Islanders.

Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic have been splitting the workload for the Sharks to start the season, but the former's results haven't been good. Aside from the fact that he's lost in his three starts for a winless Sharks team, the main issue is that Asrakov has given up at least four goals each time. Through his three appearances, he's stopped only 88 of the 105 shots he's faced -- good for a ballooned 5.73 GAA and a poor .838 save percentage. Fantasy managers shouldn't consider starting Askarov in most formats given his early-season struggles.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Cruises to fourth win

Thompson made 18 saves in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Kraken.

The 28-year-old netminder took a shutout into the third period, only for Jaden Schwartz to bang home a rebound early in the frame to ruin the clean sheet. It was still a strong performance from Thompson, who has yet to allow more than two goals in a start this season. The Capitals' No. 1 is off to a flying start to 2025-26, going 4-1-0 in five outings with a 1.61 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

  • Matt Murray G | SEA

Kraken's Matt Murray: Downed by Caps in season debut

Murray turned aside 30 of 33 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Washington, with the Capitals' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Making his first appearance of the season on the second night of a back-to-back for the Kraken, Murray wasn't particularly sharp. He got clean looks at two of the long-range shots that beat him. Seattle is carrying three goalies to begin the year, and while Joey Daccord's No. 1 spot is secure, Murray could wind up with the No. 2 spot if he outplays Philipp Grubauer -- although Tuesday's effort didn't make a strong case for him to move up the depth chart.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Sharp in Tuesday's win

Silovs stopped 23 shots in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Canucks.

Conor Garland blew a shot past him early in the first period on the first shot of the night, but Silovs shut the door the rest of the way. The 24-year-old netminder has had three good starts and one poor one to begin the season, leaving him with a 2.26 GAA, .919 save percentage and 3-1-0 record as he works in a timeshare with Tristan Jarry.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Iced by Pens

Lankinen made 21 saves in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Penguins.

The veteran netminder couldn't really be faulted for any of the pucks that got past him, but Lankinen also didn't come up with any big stops to give his team a spark in the road loss. Through three starts this season, he's gone 1-2-0 while allowing 11 goals on 94 shots, a far cry from Thatcher Demko's 2.28 GAA and .922 save percentage in four outings.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Surrenders four goals to Mammoth

Wedgewood allowed four goals on 33 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Wedgewood has allowed exactly four goals in both of his overtime losses this season, as well as exactly one goal against in each of his five wins. The 33-year-old was unable to hold back the Mammoth in the second period, and Dylan Guenther added the game-winner 33 seconds into overtime. Wedgewood is now at a 1.84 GAA and a .927 save percentage through seven starts as he continues to fill in for Mackenzie Blackwood (lower body). If Blackwood isn't ready for Thursday's game against the Hurricanes, Wedgewood would likely get the nod again.
