  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Starting in Toronto

Talbot will defend the road net against Toronto on Monday, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com.

Talbot will get his second straight start after stopping 20 shots in a 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday. He also made a relief appearance against Montreal in Detroit's season opener, making four saves on the four shots he faced in 22:37 of action after John Gibson got the hook.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Gives up six goals Saturday

Gustavsson allowed six goals on 31 shots faced in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Blue Jackets. The seventh goal was an empty-netter with 1:26 left in the third period.

Gustavsson was beaten once in the first period, twice in the second and three times in the final frame. He posted a 26-save shutout in the season-opening win over the Blues, so fantasy managers have seen both extremes from the 27-year-old netminder so far. Gustavsson will aim to bounce back against the Kings on Monday before the Wild start a five-game road trip.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Beaten four times

Merzlikins allowed four goals on 52 shots faced in Saturday's 7-4 win over Minnesota.

Merzlikins didn't play in the 2-1 loss to Nashville, and while he earned the win in this high-scoring matchup, allowing four goals isn't going to do a lot of good in fantasy. It remains to be seen whether Merzlikins or Jet Greaves will get the nod when the Blue Jackets take on the Devils on Monday at home.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Tagged with loss Saturday

Saros stopped 20 of 23 shots he faced in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Saros couldn't repeat the stellar effort he delivered in the season-opening 2-1 win over Columbus, where he stopped 37 of 38 shots. Saros is firmly entrenched as the Preds' starting goaltender, however, and he'll aim to bounce back when facing the Senators on Monday. That game will mark the beginning of a four-game road trip for Nashville.

  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Will start Monday

Sorokin will be the Islanders' starting netminder for Monday's contest against the Jets, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports Sunday.

It was an early call for the Islanders well over 24 hours from puck drop: Sorokin will get another chance in net Monday. The 30-year-old has allowed four goals in both of his starts this season, losing both. He'll have another chance to get his first win of the season, but a high-flying Jets offense with seven goals in the opening two games will present a tough task on the other side.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Earns first win of season

Vejmelka stopped 20 of 22 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Predators.

Vejmelka bounced back from the season-opening loss to the Avalanche on Thursday and earned his first win of the campaign. Given the opponent he faced in the first game of the campaign, it's safe to say Vejmelka is having a solid start to the season after posting a save percentage of at least .905 in both outings while stopping 45 of 49 shots so far. His next chance to play will come Monday against the Blackhawks, again on the road.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Earns another win

Swayman stopped 21 of 22 shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Sabres.

Swayman was beaten midway through the third period when Jason Zucker found the back of the net with a snap shot from the left circle that deflected off a defender's stick. However, that would be all the damage Swayman would allow throughout the game. In two starts, Swayman has gone 2-0-0 while stopping all but two of the 58 shots he's faced. It's too early to draw any conclusions, but Swayman seems to be ready to bounce back after a dismal 2024-25 campaign in which he posted an .892 save percentage while going 22-29-7 across 58 regular-season starts.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Beaten twice Saturday

Lyon stopped 28 of 30 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Bruins. The third goal was an empty-netter with three seconds left in the game.

Lyon was beaten once in the first period and once in the second, but despite having a solid outing between the pipes, he didn't get offensive support for the second game in a row. Lyon has gone 0-2-0 to open the season despite posting a save percentage of .905 or higher in both of his outings -- mainly because the Sabres have scored only one goal in those contests. His next chance to earn his first win of the season will come against the Avalanche on Monday.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Struggles in loss

Silovs saved 24 of 30 shots in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Rangers.

After posting a shutout performance against the Rangers on Oct. 7, Silovs came back down to earth and struggled against them just four days later. He conceded at least one goal in each period, with the Rangers erupting for three goals against Silovs in the second frame. The 24-year-old Silovs now has a 1-1-0 record, a 3.00 GAA, and an .891 save percentage through two starts this season. Despite Saturday's performance, Silovs will likely maintain a near-even split with Tristan Jarry, at least while Joel Blomqvist (lower body) remains on injured reserve. This is a goaltending situation to avoid in most fantasy formats.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Grabs second straight win

Shesterkin made 18 saves in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Penguins.

Shesterkin cruised to his second consecutive win, as his lone blemish was a Benjamin Kindel goal in the second period. The 29-year-old Shesterkin has been exceptional through three appearances with a 2-1-0 record, a 0.67 GAA and a .976 save percentage. He has allowed just two goals this year and added a shutout to his campaign in the Rangers' second game. Shesterkin is on pace to improve upon a career-worst season with 29 losses, a 2.86 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 61 appearances a year ago. His fantasy value is up there with the best netminders in the league, especially due to the workhorse role he is expected to serve in while being backed up by the 39-year-old Jonathan Quick, who will likely make his season debut Sunday against Washington.
