Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Surrenders four goals
Sorokin stopped 25 of 29 shots in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Capitals.
Sorokin struggled early, allowing the first four goals of the game across 36 minutes. However, he kept the Capitals off the scoresheet in the third period. The 30-year-old netminder has a 0-2-0 record, 4.21 GAA and .860 save percentage through two appearances. It's an unfortunate start to the season for Sorokin, who was one of 10 goalies to reach the 30-win mark last season. Despite the early struggles, Sorokin's is in no danger of ceding his starting role to David Rittich. If the Islanders can strengthen their defensive play in front of Sorokin, he could continue to build upon his solid campaign from last season, giving him upside in all fantasy formats.

Logan Thompson G | WAS
Capitals' Logan Thompson: Bounces back for first win
Thompson stopped 34 of 36 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.
Thompson grabbed his first win of the 2025-26 season and kept Washington's net tidy for the first 38 minutes. The Capitals ran into penalty trouble near the end of the second period and into the third, as the only two goals that Thompson conceded were on Islanders power plays. The 28-year-old netminder has a 1-1-0 record, a 2.03 GAA and a .930 save percentage across his two starts this season. Thompson broke out with 31 wins, a 2.49 GAA and a .910 save percentage in 43 regular-season contests last season. If he can defend the crease with consistency and the Capitals experience the same success they saw a year ago, Thompson could have another top-10 fantasy season among goaltenders. However, he will likely split starts with Charlie Lindgren throughout the season, limiting Thompson's fantasy ceiling unless he can run away with the 1A starting role.

Sergei Bobrovsky G | FLA
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Cruises to easy win
Bobrovsky turned aside 26 shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Senators.
The Panthers never trailed in the game after grabbing an early 2-0 lead, and both pucks that got by Bobrovsky were the products of bad luck more than anything. The veteran netminder has won three straight starts to begin the season, allowing just five goals on 67 shots, and despite some big-name absences in the forward ranks, the Panthers are off to a hot start to 2025-26 as they look to three-peat as Stanley Cup champs.

Linus Ullmark G | OTT
Senators' Linus Ullmark: Mauled by Panthers
Ullmark stopped 21 shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to Florida.
The Senators never led in the game, as the Panthers struck twice in the first 10 minutes of the first period and never looked back. Ullmark has had a shaky beginning to the season despite a 1-1 record, giving up 10 goals on 52 shots, but road starts against the Lightning as well as the two-time defending Stanley Cup champs is about as tough a slate as a goalie could face. The 32-year-old's 2.72 GAA and .909 save percentage from 2024-25 offer a better reflection of his capabilities behind the Ottawa defense.

Spencer Knight G | CHI
Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Takes tough loss Saturday
Knight made 25 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Canadiens.
The 24-year-old netminder got beaten twice in three minutes on Montreal power plays early in the second period, but Knight was otherwise outstanding. There wasn't much he could do on the game-winner, however -- with Montreal cranking up the pressure late in regulation, Sam Rinzel was knocked into his goalie and Knight lost his stick, and he could only watch in disbelief as Kaiden Guhle's point shot deflected off Knight's own lumber into the net with just 15 seconds left on the clock. Knight is 0-2 to begin his first full season as Chicago's No. 1, but his .908 save percentage (six goals on 65 shots) offers a better reflection of his play so far in 2025-26 behind a porous Blackhawks defense.

Sam Montembeault G | MON
Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Steady in first win of season
Montembeault turned aside 20 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over Chicago.
The 28-year-old netminder was beaten twice in less than five minutes during a wild second period that featured four of the game's five goals before the 10-minute mark, but Montembeault otherwise had an answer for everything Chicago fired his way. It was his first win of the season after a tough loss in Toronto on Wednesday, and Montembeault has given up five goals on 47 shots so far as Montreal's No. 1 in the crease.

Frederik Andersen G | CAR
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Hangs on for OT win
Andersen stopped 20 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers.
The veteran netminder gave up a goal in each period and appeared to allow an OT winner to Bobby Brink as well, only for the tally to get taken off the board upon video review due to goaltender interference. Seth Jarvis then took advantage of the second chance for Carolina, giving Andersen his second win in two starts. Andersen hasn't looked particularly sharp between the pipes to begin the campaign, allowing six goals on only 45 shots, but with Pyotr Kochetkov (lower body) out until at least next weekend, Andersen should see a heavy workload early.

Samuel Ersson G | PHI
Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Stuck with OT loss
Ersson made 35 saves in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.
He was by far the busier goalie, as Philly was out-shot 39-23 on the night, and all the regulation goals against Ersson came during a bumpy second period. The 25-year-old is duking it out with Dan Vladar for playing time in the crease this season, with the former Flame getting the nod in the Flyers' season opener Thursday, and it could be a while before the team has a clear No. 1 in net.
-
Adin Hill G | LV
Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Loses in overtime
Hill stopped 20 of 22 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Kraken.
Hill has a couple of tough losses after regulation time on his ledger, with this outing being a little better than his season debut versus the Kings (five goals allowed on 26 shots). The Golden Knights' defense is holding up its end of the bargain by keeping the shot count low -- it's on Hill to get them the saves they need. Vegas visits Calgary on Tuesday for its next game.

Joey Daccord G | SEA
Kraken's Joey Daccord: Impressive again Saturday
Daccord stopped 26 of 27 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Golden Knights.
Daccord beat the Ducks on Thursday and then followed it up with another strong outing against a tougher foe. The 29-year-old hasn't gotten a ton of help from his teammates, but he's allowed just two goals on 63 shots so far. Daccord is the clear No. 1 goalie for the Kraken and no worse than a low-end No. 2 in fantasy -- and he could rise through the ranks quickly if he keeps up this level of play in the long run. The Kraken begin a six-game road trip Tuesday in Montreal, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Daccord start at least four of those games as long as his performance holds up.
