Pickard had a good 2024-25 campaign as Edmonton's second backup goalkeeper, going 22-10-1 with a 2.71 GAA and a .900 save percentage across 36 regular-season contests. He could face a battle for a spot on the roster soon, as the Oilers picked up Connor Ingram in a deal with Utah. The Canucks scored five times Thursday in a win over Calgary.

Saros was stellar Opening Night, turning aside 37 shots in a 2-1 win over Columbus. He had a rocky 2024-25 campaign, posting a 20-31-6 record with a 2.98 GAA and a substandard .895 save percentage. The Mammoth managed to find the back of the net only once in a 2-1 loss to Colorado on Thursday.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: First off ice Saturday
Shesterkin was the first goaltender off the ice at the morning skate, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post, and is slated to patrol the visiting crease in Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Shesterkin has been sensational this season, allowing only one goal on 65 shots. He shut out the Sabres on Thursday, making 37 saves. The Penguins are off to a great start, beating Shesterkin and the Rangers on Opening Night and knocking off the Islanders on Thursday by a 4-3 score.

Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Starting in Chicago
Montembeault will be between the pipes for Saturday's road matchup against the Blackhawks, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Before the Maple Leafs added two empty-netters, Montembeault permitted three goals on 25 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to Toronto. During the 2024-25 regular season, the 28-year-old netminder posted a record of 0-1-1 versus Chicago while allowing seven goals on 51 shots.
