MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Considered week-to-week
Head coach Jared Bednar said Wednesday that Blackwood (lower body) is considered week-to-week, Meghan Angley of Guerilla Sports reports.
Although Blackwood's injury is considered to be more serious than a day-to-day concern, Bednar indicated that he expects the netminder to be healthy near the beginning of the regular season. It seems likely that Blackwood will be forced to miss some time during the preseason, which should allow Scott Wedgewood to see additional time in the crease.

Connor Ingram G | EDM
Mammoth's Connor Ingram: Won't attend camp with Utah
General manager Bill Armstrong said Wednesday that Ingram won't attend training camp as the Mammoth work to find a new home for the netminder, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Ingram missed the end of the 2024-25 campaign while tending to a personal matter, but he was cleared to return to on-ice activities in mid-August. However, he's seeking out a new home ahead of the 2025-26 season. Both sides are on the same page about parting ways, as Ingram and the Mammoth are working to seek out a new team. If the two sides are unable to find a new destination for Ingram, the Mammoth intend to eventually place him on waivers. Vitek Vanecek is slated to serve as Karel Vejmelka's backup once the regular season gets underway.

Laurent Brossoit G | SJ
Blackhawks' Laurent Brossoit: Still unavailable
Brossoit (knee) will be unavailable for the start of training camp, and it's likely he will miss additional time, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times on Tuesday.
Brossoit missed the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign due to a knee issue. He has one more season left on his two-year, $6.6 million contract. If Brossoit remains on the shelf for the beginning of the 2025-26 season, Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom will handle the goaltending duties for the Blackhawks.

Semyon Varlamov G | NYI
Islanders' Semyon Varlamov: Status uncertain for start of camp
Head coach Patrick Roy said Monday that Varlamov (knee) is skating, but he isn't yet sure whether the goaltender will be ready for the start of training camp, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Varlamov missed most of the 2024-25 campaign after undergoing knee surgery in December, but he was projected to resume skating in mid-August, and he appears to be on track in his recovery. Roy suggested that general manager Mathieu Darche could have more insight on Varlamov's status for the start of training camp. Varlamov will have increased competition for backup netminder duties behind Ilya Sorokin ahead of the 2025-26 regular season after the Islanders signed David Rittich to a one-year contract during the offseason.

Ivan Fedotov G | CLB
Blue Jackets' Ivan Fedotov: Dealt to Columbus
Fedotov was traded to Columbus from Philadelphia on Sunday in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Fedotov posted a 6-13-4 record with a 3.15 GAA and an .880 save percentage across 26 regular-season appearances for the Flyers in 2024-25. He has one more year left on his contract, which carries a $3.275 million cap hit. Fedotov will compete for playing time in 2025-26 as part of a crowded Columbus goalie depth chart, which also includes Elvis Merzlikins (concussion) and Jet Greaves.

Spencer Knight G | CHI
Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Signs three-year contract
Knight inked a three-year, $17.5 million contract extension with the Blackhawks on Saturday.
The deal goes through the 2029-30 campaign. Knight became the No. 1 netminder with Chicago after he was dealt from Florida on March 1 along with a 2026 first-round pick for Seth Jones and a 2026 fourth-round selection. Knight was 17-16-3 with a .901 save percentage across 38 regular-season games with Chicago and Florida last season. He should be in line for 50-plus starts, barring any significant injury during the 2025-26 season.

MacKenzie Blackwood G | COL
Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Battling injury before camp
Blackwood has not taken shots during the Avalanche's informal skates and appears to be bothered by a lower-body injury, Brennan Vogt of Hockey Mountain High reports Friday.
The Avalanche haven't revealed any information, but an update may come next week when training camp officially opens. Blackwood being hurt would be a serious dent in the team's goaltending depth, but if it's a minor issue, he has plenty of time to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen G | BUF
Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Suffers offseason injury
Luukkonen reported to training camp with an undisclosed injury, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports Friday.
A league source stated that Luukkonen came to camp with a "tweak." The Sabres are not sure as to the severity of the injury, and there is no timetable for a return. Buffalo inked Alexandar Georgiev to a one-year contract Thursday, in case Luukkonen is not ready for the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Luukkonen was 24-24-5 with a pair of shutouts, a 3.20 GAA and an .887 save percentage across 55 regular-season appearances for the Sabres in 2024-25.

Alexandar Georgiev G | BUF
Sabres' Alexandar Georgiev: Joins Buffalo on one-year deal
Georgiev signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Sabres on Thursday.
Georgiev's contract is cheap enough to make it possible to bury his cap hit in the minors if he doesn't perform well enough to make the NHL roster. He'll compete with Alex Lyon and Devon Levi for the backup role during training camp, though this signing seems to indicate the Sabres don't expect Levi to begin in the NHL this year. Georgiev had terrible numbers between Colorado and San Jose last year, with a 15-26-4 record with a 3.71 GAA and an .875 save percentage over 49 regular-season appearances.

Carter Hart G | LV
Carter Hart: Eligible to return Dec. 1
Hart, who was acquitted of sexual assault charges in the Hockey Canada trial, is eligible to play in the NHL beginning Dec. 1, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports Thursday.
Per Johnston, contracts can be registered with the NHL on Oct. 15, and the five players can begin conditioning with a team Nov. 15 and appear in a game Dec. 1. Thus far, Hart's former team, the Flyers, hasn't commented on whether they will pursue a deal for the goaltender, but several teams were reportedly monitoring the situation in regard to when Hart would be eligible to play again.
