  • Trent Miner G | COL

Avalanche's Trent Miner: Staying with club

Miner inked a two-year contract with Colorado on Monday.

Miner put together a fantastic campaign with AHL Colorado this season, going 22-10-6 with a .918 save percentage and 2.12 GAA in 38 regular-season contests. Selected by the Avalanche in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, the 24-year-old backstop faces an uphill battle to becoming an NHL netminder, as he's blocked by Mackenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood for the upcoming campaign.

  • Yaniv Perets G | CAR

Yaniv Perets: Will become free agent

Perets was not qualified by the Hurricanes on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent.

Perets has logged just two NHL games in his career, including last season against the Panthers on Nov. 30. In that outing, the 25-year-old netminder stopped six of seven shots for a .857 save percentage. Without Perets back in the system, the Canes could decide to re-sign Dustin Tokarski or Spencer Martin.

  • Bruins' Michael DiPietro: Grabs two-year deal

DiPietro signed a two-year, $1.625 million contract with Boston on Monday.

Interestingly, DiPietro's contract is a one-way deal that will make it more expensive to move him to the minors this upcoming season. The Bruins already have both Jeremy Swayman and Joonas Korpisalo under contract, so there figures to be significant competition at the goalie position during training camp.

  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: Inks two-year extension

Husso signed a two-year, $4.4 million contract extension with the Ducks on Sunday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Husso was a midseason acquisition via trade by the Ducks from the Red Wings, but the goaltender appeared in just four games at the NHL level with Anaheim. The 30-year-old spent most of his brief time in the Ducks organization so far with AHL San Diego, where me made nine starts. Even after the trade of John Gibson, the Ducks still hold the rights to goaltenders Petr Mrazek and pending RFA Lukas Dostal, leaving a lot of competition for starts moving forward and potentially a lot of one-way money tied up between the three of them.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Lands two-year contract

Hofer signed a two-year, $6.8 million contract with St. Louis on Saturday.

Hofer posted a 16-8-3 record with one shutout, a 2.64 GAA and a .904 save percentage across 31 regular-season outings with the Blues in 2024-25. He should continue to see his fair share of starts behind Jordan Binnington in the 2025-26 campaign, making Hofer a worthwhile depth or streaming option in fantasy leagues.

  • Petr Mrazek G | ANA

Ducks' Petr Mrazek: Going to Orange County

Anaheim acquired Mrazek, a 2027 second-round and a 2026 fourth-round selection from Detroit on Saturday in exchange for John Gibson.

The 33-year-old Mrazek split his time between Chicago and Detroit in 2024-25, going 12-21-2 with a 3.35 GAA and an .891 save percentage across 38 regular-season appearances. With Anaheim, he will be the clear No. 2 netminder behind Lukas Dostal, but Mrazek could still start about 30 games in 2025-26.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Motown bound in trade

Detroit obtained Gibson (lower body) from Anaheim on Saturday in exchange for Petr Mrazek, a second-round pick in 2027 and a fourth-round selection in 2026.

Gibson has dealt with injuries while losing playing time to Lukas Dostal in recent seasons. In 2024-25, the 31-year-old Gibson went 11-11-2 with a 2.73 GAA and .912 save percentage, but he has struggled mightily since 2019-20 as the Ducks went through a rebuild. Detroit is banking on him being able to bounce back in a different environment. Cam Talbot, who is 37, is signed for one more season at $2.5 million. Gibson should enter the 2025-26 campaign as Detroit's No. 1 netminder.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: No buyout on horizon

The Kraken will not buy out Grubauer's contract after a poor statistical season, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reported Friday.

General manager Jason Botterill confirmed that the team will work with Grubauer and try to improve the team in front of him. The club is confident that Grubauer can bounce back. The 33-year-old netminder went 8-17-1 with a 3.49 GAA and an .875 save percentage across 26 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. These numbers were by far his worst in the NHL. Grubauer will be available late in drafts for 2025-26 and could be an astute stash if he can truly turn things around.

  • Sharks' Gabriel Carriere: Signs two-way contract

Carriere signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Sharks on Thursday, per PuckPedia.

Carriere had a 3.06 GAA and an .894 save percentage in 22 regular-season appearances with AHL San Jose in 2024-25. The 24-year-old is expected to start the 2025-26 campaign in the minors, though it's possible that he'll make his NHL debut during the season, depending on the Sharks' injury situation.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Acquired by Cats

Tarasov was brought in via trade by the Panthers from the Blue Jackets on Thursday in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Tarasov heads into the offseason as a restricted free agent, so the Panthers still have to get him under contract ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The 26-year-old backstop saw action in 20 games with Columbus this year in which he posted a 7-10-2 record to go with a 3.55 GAA, .880 save percentage and one shutout. Tarasov will head into the upcoming season as the No. 2 option behind Sergei Bobrovsky, who is entering the final year of his contract and is 36 years of age -- opening the door for Tarasov to potentially be the netminder of the future in Florida.
