Ilya Sorokin G | NYI
Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Absent from practice Thursday
Sorokin (upper body) missed Thursday's game-day skate, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports, indicating he won't be available at home versus the Rangers.
The Islanders haven't made any official announcements yet on a netminder for Thursday's matchup, but Sorokin's absence would seem to indicate that Marcus Hogberg will get the nod while the recently recalled Tristan Lennox serves as the backup. Considering Sorokin has played in 28 of the Isles' last 32 games -- going 16-9-2 with a 2.65 GAA -- they almost certainly would have continued to give him a heavy workload until they are officially eliminated from playoff contention.

Tristan Lennox G | NYI
Islanders' Tristan Lennox: Recalled from AHL
Lennox was called up from AHL Bridgeport on Thursday, according to Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.
Lennox was selected in the third round -- 93rd overall -- in 2021 and suffered a big setback with a major knee injury last season with ECHL Worcester after just 13 games. He has played only four games with Bridgeport this season, allowing 16 goals on 95 shots (.832 save percentage). Ilya Sorokin is day-to-day with an upper-body injury suffered Tuesday, leaving Marcus Hogberg to likely start Thursday against the Rangers with Lennox as his backup.

Jonathan Quick G | NYR
Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Fades late against Philly
Quick stopped 22 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Flyers, with Philadelphia's final two goals getting scored into an empty net.
With their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, the Rangers took a 4-3 lead about seven minutes into the third period on a J.T. Miller tally, but the team completely collapsed down the stretch. Quick didn't help matters, turning a low-danger shot from the blue line by Matvei Michkov into a juicy rebound for Sean Couturier that resulted in Philadelphia's fifth goal of the night. While they aren't mathematically eliminated, the Rangers would need to win their remaining four games, have the Canadiens lose their remaining four, and get help besides to squeak into the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Over his four starts since the beginning of March, Quick has gone 2-2-0 with a 3.57 GAA and .875 save percentage.

Aleksei Kolosov G | PHI
Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Carried to win by offense
Kolosov turned aside 24 shots in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Rangers.
Seeing his first NHL action since Jan. 2, Kolosov wasn't exactly sharp, but five goals in the final 12 minutes of the third period by the Flyers gave him more than enough cushion. The 23-year-old rookie netminder is 5-8-1 on the season at the top level with a 3.56 GAA and .867 save percentage.

Andrei Vasilevskiy G | TB
Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Falls to Leafs in OT
Vasilevskiy stopped 27 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
There wasn't much Vasilevskiy could do on any of the pucks that beat him, as one came on a Toronto power play and two others came on failed clearing attempts by the Bolts. It's the first time since March 11 the 30-year-old netminder has given up more than three goals, and over his last 10 starts Vasilevskiy has gone 7-2-1 with a stellar 1.59 GAA and .934 save percentage.
-
Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Tops Bolts in OT
Stolarz made 25 saves in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning.
Tampa Bay beat him twice on the power play in the third period to force OT, but Stolarz still came away with his sixth straight win when Matthew Knies completed a hat trick in the extra frame. Stolarz sports a dazzling 1.82 GAA and .936 save percentage during his win streak, and he's one victory away from reaching 20 on the season for the first time in his career.
-
Jordan Binnington G | STL
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Falls to Oilers
Binnington stopped 19 of 23 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers.
Binnington had to deal with Connor McDavid, who dished three assists in his return from a lower-body injury. The 31-year-old Binnington saw his personal seven-game winning streak snapped just one game after Joel Hofer's loss in Winnipeg ended the Blues' 12-game surge. Binnington is now 27-22-4 with a 2.72 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 54 appearances. The Blues have just two games left in the regular season -- Saturday at Seattle and Tuesday at home versus Utah -- so unless their playoff fate is on the line longer than expected, Binnington and Hofer will likely split the last two contests.
-
Calvin Pickard G | EDM
Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Holds on for win
Pickard stopped 23 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Blues.
The Blues came back from a pair of one-goal deficits in the third period, but Connor Brown's second goal of the game was scored with 21 seconds left in the frame. Pickard didn't have a great outing, but that was too late for the Blues to get even again. This was Pickard's fourth win in his last five outings, and he's up to 21-9-1 on the season. He's added a 2.65 GAA and a .901 save percentage through 34 appearances. Stuart Skinner (head) is nearing a return, but Pickard has won six of his last 10 contests and may share the goaltending duties at least for the rest of the regular season.

Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Falls apart late Wednesday
Wolf allowed four goals on 23 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks.
The Flames took a 3-1 lead with under five minutes to go in regulation, but it disappeared when Frank Vatrano and Cutter Gauthier scored eight seconds apart. Gauthier double-dipped, besting Wolf a second time at 1:11 of overtime to send the Flames to a loss that greatly reduces their playoff chances. Wolf is now 2-1-2 with 12 goals allowed over his last five games. He's at 26-16-8 with a 2.64 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 50 appearances. Wolf is still likely to get the nod for Friday's must-win home game versus the Wild.

Ville Husso G | ANA
Ducks' Ville Husso: Does just enough for win
Husso stopped 36 of 39 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flames.
Husso gave up a pair of goals in a span of 1:34 in the third period, but the Ducks quickly bounced back and then took the win in overtime. Husso improved to 2-6-2 with a 3.63 GAA and an .880 save percentage across 12 appearances between the Ducks and the Red Wings. He'll stay in the NHL as long as John Gibson (lower body) is unavailable, but expect Lukas Dostal to get the nod Thursday against the Kings.
