  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Dealing with illness

Gustavsson left Saturday's 4 Nations Face-Off game against Finland after the first period due to an illness, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.

Gustavsson allowed two goals on four shots in 19:46 of playing time before being replaced by Linus Ullmark. Ullmark stopped 15 of 17 shots in relief in Sweden's 4-3 overtime loss to Finland. Gustavsson could play in Monday's road game versus Team USA if he's feeling better, but Ullmark and Samuel Ersson are available if needed.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Facing Team USA

Binnington will patrol the home crease against the United States on Saturday in 4 Nations Face-Off action, Mark Masters of TSN reports.

Binnington is coming off a 23-save effort in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over Sweden. Canada squandered 2-0 and 3-1 leads in the contest, but the 31-year-old Binnington made some spectacular saves in overtime before Mitch Marner provided the game-winner. The winning team of Saturday's matchup between Canada and the USA could earn a spot in the 4 Nations Face-Off Final.

  • Red Wings' Sebastian Cossa: Excellent in third pro season

Cossa has gone 14-9-3 with a 2.23 GAA and a .918 save percentage over 26 games with AHL Grand Rapids this season.

Cossa also made his NHL debut Dec. 10, 2024, allowing two goals on 14 shots. His AHL numbers are better in 2024-25 than they were last year -- he had a 2.41 GAA and a .913 save percentage over 40 outings in 2023-24. With all of Alex Lyon, Ville Husso and Jack Campbell coming off the books this summer, Cossa may be given a chance to claim an NHL job in the fall, though the team is likely to sign at least one other veteran goalie to keep the organizational depth steady. Cossa is not far off from being an impact player in fantasy, especially if the Red Wings continue to improve overall.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Expected starter for Saturday

Gustavsson is expected to start against Team Finland on Saturday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Gustavsson is getting a second straight start for Sweden after stopping 24 of 28 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to Canada on Wednesday. The 26-year-old netminder has a 22-11-3 record, 2.63 GAA and .915 save percentage across 37 appearances with Minnesota this season. Like Sweden, Finland is looking to rebound after suffering a loss in its opening game of the tournament -- the United States earned a 6-1 victory over Finland on Thursday.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Starting Saturday versus Sweden

Lankinen will defend the road crease versus Sweden on Saturday in Finland's second game of the 4 Nations Face-Off, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

Saturday's matchup is a big game for both teams as Sweden lost a 4-3 overtime decision to Canada on Wednesday, while the Finns were defeated 6-1 by the United States on Thursday. Lankinen has sparkled this season in the Vancouver cage, going 19-8-7 with four shutouts, a 2.53 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 34 appearances.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Coughs up hair ball against USA

Saros made 26 saves in Finland's 6-1 loss Thursday to Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal.

We've all thought that the Predators' issues were tied to all the roster changes in the offseason, and that was weighing Saros down, but his poor performance Thursday has us wondering if he's part of the problem in Nashville. There were too many goals Thursday that Saros would like back, and we have to think that the Finnish team brass is seriously weighing Kevin Lankinen or Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen as the possible starter in Saturday's game against Sweden. The Finns need to win, and we're not sure Saros has that in him right now.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Dominant self in USA win

Hellebuyck made 20 saves Thursday in a 6-1 win by Team USA over Finland at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal.

He surrendered the game's first goal on the Finn's second shot -- it was a fluttering shot that he missed, and it went over his right shoulder. He shook it off, and his teammates responded with six unanswered goals. Hellebuyck was his efficient, dominant self in the blue paint for the USA. He's the game's best netminder this season, and he made the win look easy. Next up is Team Canada on Saturday night.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Solid in 4 Nations loss to Canada

Gustavsson made 24 saves for Sweden in a 4-3 overtime loss to Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off on Wednesday.

Gustavsson allowed two goals in the first, but he couldn't be faulted for either. And it's not like he got support early -- Sweden didn't have a shot on goal until 17:16 of the first period. Gustavsson was calm, cool and collected the rest of the way, including late in the third, when the game's fast pace quickened even further. Sweden next faces off on Saturday, when it meets Finland in Montreal.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Wins in 4 Nations Face-Off debut

Binnington allowed three goals on 26 shots in Canada's 4-3 overtime win over Sweden on Wednesday at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal.

Honestly, he likely wants the first two goals back. But in true Binner fashion, he battled the rest of the way and threw down some massive saves in overtime when Sweden was dominating. Team Canada coach Jon Cooper has committed to Binnington as "the guy" for this tourney, and there will be debate heading to Canada's next game Saturday. We think Binnington did enough in OT to prove that his compete and battle are what Canada needs in the blue paint next game.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Backstopping Team USA

Hellebuyck will guard the cage for Team USA against Finland on Thursday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

Hellebuyck leads the NHL in games played (43), wins (34) and shutouts (six), so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see the reigning Vezina Trophy winner getting the nod for the United States. With Canada likely the Americans' biggest competition in the 4 Nations Face-Off, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Hellebuyck back between the pipes for Saturday's matchup -- though Jake Oettinger is certainly having a fantastic 2024-25 of his own.
