  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Slated to face Czechia

Binnington is expected to start for Team Canada against Czechia in Wednesday's quarterfinals matchup, per Sportsnet.

Although Binnington has struggled with St. Louis this campaign, posting an 8-17-6 record, 3.65 GAA and .864 save percentage in 32 outings, he's turned aside 38 of 40 shots across two appearances for Canada in this Olympic tournament. He'll also be facing the same team he earned a 5-0 victory against during round-robin play Thursday. Czechia does have some top offensive talent, including Tomas Hertl, Martin Necas and David Pastrnak. However, Czechia might be held back somewhat by fatigue after earning a 3-2 victory over Denmark on Tuesday in a qualification game.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Drawing start against Canada

Dostal will tend the twine for Czechia during Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup against Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Dostal made a start against Canada in Czechia's tournament opener last Thursday, and he turned aside 31 of 36 shots in a 5-0 loss. However, he made 22 saves on 24 shots during Czechia's 3-2 win over Denmark in the qualification round Tuesday and will draw another start a day later.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Facing Slovakia in quarterfinals

Grubauer will protect the German cage versus Slovakia on Wednesday in quarterfinal action at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The Kraken netminder has been terrific at the Winter Games, posting a 2-1 record, while allowing six goals on 91 shots (.934 save percentage). Grubauer is going back-to-back after making 30 saves Tuesday in a 5-1 win over France in qualification round action. He will need to be at his best, as Slovakia won Group B in the preliminary round, ahead of hockey powerhouses Finland and Sweden.

  • Wild's Samuel Hlavaj: Slated to start versus Germany

Hlavaj is expected to defend the crease for Slovakia in Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup versus Germany at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Hlavaj is 1-1 at the Olympics. The 24-year-old was spectacular versus Finland on Feb. 11, stopping 39 shots in a 4-1 victory, and he turned aside 46 shots in a 5-3 loss to Sweden on Saturday. Germany defeated France 5-1 on Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals.

  • Blue Jackets' Elvis Merzlikins: Struggles in loss to Sweden

Merzlikins stopped 23 of 28 shots in Latvia's 5-1 loss to Sweden in the 2026 Winter Olympics on Tuesday.

Latvia's Olympic campaign came to an end Tuesday in a loss to Sweden, though that outcome was totally expected given the difference in quality between the two teams. Merzlikins allowed 10 goals on 66 shots faced in two starts in the Olympics. He'll report back to the Blue Jackets, as Columbus will resume its regular-season campaign on the road against the Bruins on Feb. 26.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Cruises to win Tuesday

Markstrom stopped 20 of 21 shots in Sweden's 5-1 win over Latvia in the 2026 Winter Olympics on Tuesday.

Markstrom was beaten midway through the second period, but other than that, he was excellent in a game where the offense provided enough support to claim an easy win. However, the Devils' netminder will have a tougher challenge against Team USA on Wednesday in the quarterfinals. Markstrom has stopped 49 of 53 shots in his two starts in the current Olympic campaign.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Falls short in qualifier

Andersen stopped 28 of 31 shots on net in Denmark's 3-2 loss to Czechia in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.

Despite keeping Denmark's net tidy in the first and third periods, Andersen allowed three goals in the second period, which would ultimately be enough for Czechia to advance to the quarterfinals. The 36-year-old netminer finished the Olympics with a 1-2-0 record, a .913 save percentage and a 2.75 GAA across three appearances. The numbers he posted were a step up from his current stats with the Carolina Hurricanes, which could give the veteran netminder a morale boost headed into the last stretch of the NHL regular season.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Redeems struggles with win

Dostal turned aside 22 of 24 shots on net in Czechia's 3-2 win over Denmark in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday.

After a tough pair of outings to begin his time at the Olympics, Dostal bounced back in a big way to help push Czechia through to the Olympic quarterfinals. The 25-year-old netminder is up to a 1-1-1 record, an .879 save percentage and a 3.65 GAA across three appearances at the Olympics. Czechia has favored the young netminder over Dan Vladar and Karel Vejmelka for the majority of the tournament, giving Dostal a solid chance to grab the start in the team's quarterfinals matchup against Canada on Wednesday.

  • Canucks' Aku Koskenvuo: Up from AHL

Koskenvuo was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday under emergency conditions.

Koskenvuo will participate in practices with Vancouver until Kevin Lankinen returns from representing Finland at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Practices, feels good to go

Lindgren (lower body) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice and feels ready to return to the lineup, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

Lindgren sat out four straight games before the Olympic break. However, he is trending toward being available to suit up in Washington's home matchup against Philadelphia on Feb. 25. Assuming he is good to go, Lindgren will come off the injured reserve list, and the Capitals will probably return Garin Bjorklund to AHL Hershey.
