  • J.T. Miller C | NYR

Rangers' J.T. Miller: Another overtime tally

Miller scored the game-winning goal and added four shots on net in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blues.

This was Miller's second overtime winner in the last four games. The 32-year-old center has three goals and four helpers through nine outings in December while maintaining his usual top-six role. He's up to a total of 10 goals (three game-winners), 21 points, 77 shots on net, 74 hits and a minus-11 rating across 34 appearances. Miller is on track to finish below a point-per-game pace for the first time since 2020-21.

  • Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Perfect in relief effort

Pickard turned aside all 12 shots on goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Bruins.

Pickard entered the game near the end of the second period in relief of Tristan Jarry, who left the game with an apparent lower-body injury. Pickard made the most of his chance, as he blanked the Bruins throughout his time in the crease Thursday. Despite not playing enough for the win, the 33-year-old netminder used his performance to boost his season stats to an .857 save percentage and a 3.91 GAA through 12 appearances. With Jarry's status unknown, Pickard could potentially receive an uptick in playing time moving forward. However, he remains an unreliable option in fantasy until he can post consecutive wins this season. His next chance to take the ice is Saturday in Minnesota.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Sharp in overtime win

Shesterkin stopped 26 of 27 shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blues.

Shesterkin had allowed at least three goals in each of his previous four outings, going 1-2-1 in that span. The 29-year-old netminder was much better against a Blues team on the second half of a back-to-back, allowing just a Jonatan Berggren tally late in the first period. Shesterkin is up to 14-11-3 with a 2.49 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 28 starts this season. The Rangers play a back-to-back over the weekend, hosting the Flyers on Saturday before visiting the Predators on Sunday.

  • Adrian Kempe RW | LA

Kings' Adrian Kempe: First multi-goal game of season

Kempe scored twice in a 2-1 win over the Lightning on Thursday.

Both goals came in the second period. Kempe's first came in the second period when he skated into the offensive zone and beat Andrei Vasilevskiy with a wrist shot from distance. Kempe's second came after he intercepted a Lightning pass in his own zone and took off, ultimately scoring on a short breakaway with a nifty backhand deke around Vasilevskiy's left pad. It was Kempe's first multi-goal game of the season. He has 13 goals, 17 assists and 99 shots in 34 games, and he's on pace for his third consecutive 70-plus point season.

  • Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Abandoned by teammates

Hildeby made 25 saves on 29 shots in a 4-0 loss to the Capitals on Thursday.

It seemed like Hildeby was the only Leaf to get on the plane to D.C. -- the rest of his teammates were nowhere to be found. He's had a rough go of it lately. Hildeby has had 10 pucks go past him in his last two starts, but somehow, he still sports a .918 save percentage in eight starts (12 games) this season.

  • Justin Sourdif RW | WAS

Capitals' Justin Sourdif: Best game of year so far

Sourdif delivered two assists in a 4-0 win over Toronto on Thursday.

"Sourdif, I thought, you could make a strong case for that being his best game of the year," Washington head coach Spencer Carbery said after the game. "I thought he was all over the puck." Sourdif has just one other multi-point game this season, which occurred Nov. 24 against Columbus. He's not a fantasy guy -- he has just three goals and six assists in 33 games -- but Sourdif is fun to watch.

  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Tips in game-winner

Protas scored a goal in Thursday's 4-0 win over Toronto.

Protas put the Caps up 1-0 in the first period with a tip-in. It was his 11th goal of the season, and it stood as the game-winner. The big man has 21 points and a remarkable plus-22 rating in 34 games. Protas is on a 50-point pace, but a few multi-point outings could get him back closer to last season's 66 points. His last multi-point effort came almost two months ago when he put up two helpers against Seattle on Oct. 21.

  • Jack Nesbitt C | PHI

Flyers' Jack Nesbitt: One of each Thursday

Nesbitt scored a goal and added an assist in OHL Windsor's 6-2 win over Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday.

This was Nesbitt's first multi-point effort since his five-point game Nov. 8. The Flyers prospect is up to 10 goals and 16 helpers through 25 appearances, putting him just over a point-per-game pace. His offense hasn't exploded this year, but he is showing decent consistency in his first campaign since being drafted 12th overall back in June.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Second shutout of season

Thompson made 22 saves in a 4-0 win over Toronto on Thursday.

It was his eighth career shutout and second of the season. Thompson is 2-1-2 with two shutouts in his last five games and is 14-7-3 with a smooth 2.00 GAA and .925 save percentage on the season. He is quickly becoming a lead candidate for Team Canada at the Olympics, despite being overlooked for the 4 Nations Face-Off last season.

  • Golden Knights' Mateo Nobert: Earns three points Thursday

Nobert scored twice and added an assist in QMJHL Blainville-Boisbriand's 5-1 win over Rouyn-Noranda on Thursday.

Nobert had been limited to three points over five games since his five-point burst Nov. 29. The Golden Knights prospect is up to 15 goals and 39 points over 29 appearances this season. Nobert ranks tied for 10th in the QMJHL in points and should continue to pile up points as he looks to surpass his total of 67 from 57 regular-season contests last year.
