  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine Thursday

Oettinger will defend the cage for Thursday's road clash with the Sabres, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

Oettinger is coming off a shutout victory over the Sharks on Monday, though he only faced 13 shots in that contest. While the 27-year-old backstop figures to face more rubber from Buffalo, he remains an elite netminder capable of putting together a fifth straight 35-win season.

  • Mammoth's Sebastian Cossa: Patrolling road crease

Cossa will get the road start in Thursday's clash against the Bruins, per Cole Bagley of KSL Sports.

Cossa will look to continue his strong start with Utah after he anchored the Mammoth to a 4-1 win Saturday in his team debut. The 23-year-old netminder stopped 18 of 19 shots on net in the outing, and he projects to be a high-upside No. 2 option behind Karel Vejmelka this season. Cossa will face a relatively tough test on Thursday, however, as the Bruins have posted three goals or more in two of their first contests to open the new season. He is a solid streaming option in deep fantasy leagues for Thursday's matchup.

  • Joseph Woll G | PHI

Flyers' Joseph Woll: Gets starting nod against Sens

Woll will be between the pipes on the road versus Ottawa on Thursday.

Woll has made two appearances for the Flyers this season, losing both in overtime while giving up six goals on 84 shots (.929 save percentage). With quality ratios to start the year, Woll probably only needs a little more help to start picking up wins. If he can continue to produce, he might have a chance to earn a split-share with Dan Vladar.

  • Panthers' Alex Petrovic: Sent back down

Petrovic was loaned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday.

Petrovic was called up by Florida on Saturday, but he didn't appear in any games during his time with the NHL club. His return to the minors suggests that Aaron Ekblad (personal) could be back in action soon, while Petrovic should see more consistent opportunities for playing time in the minors.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: In goal Thursday

Saros will get the starting nod on the road against the Canadiens on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Saros will make his fourth straight appearance in the crease, having gone 1-1-1 in the Predators' first three games while posting a 2.95 GAA and .907 save percentage. With no back-to-backs on the short-term schedule, the 31-year-old Saros figures to see plenty of work to open the season.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Starting against Tampa Bay

Wallstedt will start Thursday's road game against Tampa Bay, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Wallstedt will be in the crease for a fourth consecutive game to begin the regular season. He's been effective early in the year, going 2-0-1 with a 1.63 GAA and .933 save percentage across his first three starts.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Defending road crease Thursday

Lankinen was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Carolina.

Lankinen will start for the fourth time in the Canucks' first five games of the regular season. He hasn't been particularly sharp over his first three starts, going 1-2-0 with a 6.49 GAA and .812 save percentage.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Tending twine Thursday

Swayman will patrol the home crease in Thursday's clash against the Mammoth, per Andrew Fantucchio of Inside the Rink.

Swayman will return to action Thursday after he allowed four goals to the Senators in Monday's loss. However, the Bruins' defense looked spotty in the defeat, so the whole team will be looking to bounce back Thursday against the Mammoth, who have won three of their first four outings in 2026-27. Despite the tough matchup, Swayman remains a solid starter in all fantasy formats. He has a 2-1-0 record, a 2.31 GAA, a .914 save percentage and a shutout across his first three appearances this season.

  • Senators' Jake Sanderson: Won't play Thursday

Sanderson (lower body) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Flyers, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.

Sanderson suffered a lower-body injury Saturday against the Maple Leafs and was unavailable for the end of the Senators' recent road trip. The team returns home Thursday, but the 24-year-old will be unavailable for at least one additional matchup. It's not yet clear when Sanderson will be able to return, but Cameron Crotty should continue to see time in the lineup during his absence.

  • Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Shelved for Thursday's contest

Montembeault (undisclosed) will not play in Thursday's clash against the Predators, per Stu Cowan of The Montreal Gazette.

Montembeault suffered an undisclosed injury during Wednesday's practice and has been undergoing evaluation to understand the expected timeline for his injury since then. The 29-year-old netminder had yet to play in the regular season, but he looked sharp in the preseason, stopping 14 shots in a win over the Senators on Sept. 27. He's expected to serve as the organization's No. 3 goalie option moving forward, so Jakub Dobes and Jacob Fowler will carry on with their current roles until Montembeault is ready to return.
