Steven Stamkos C | NSH
Predators' Steven Stamkos: Part of exclusive NHL club
Stamkos scored twice in a 5-4 overtime loss to Toronto on Tuesday.
Stamkos became the third active player to score 100 game-opening goals. Alex Ovechkin (154) and Sidney Crosby (127). lead that list. Stammer has 627 career goals, which puts him in sole possession of 17th all-time. He is just 13 from tying Dave Andreychuk for 16th.

Anthony Stolarz G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Two starts, two wins
Stolarz made 21 saves Tuesday in a 5-4 overtime victory over the Predators.
Stolarz and Sergei Bobrovsky have split the Leafs games so far, and the former has had the better go of it. While he has allowed five goals in two games, Stolarz has won both his starts (Bob is still looking for his first), and he sports a 2.44 GAA and .904 save percentage. Try to marry these two on your fantasy roster. The Leafs will preserve Bobrovsky for a potential shot at the postseason, so Stolarz will get a lot of starts.

William Nylander RW | TOR
Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Three points in OT win
Nylander had a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over Nashville.
He also had a goal disallowed in the third period. Nylander has three goals, three assists and nine shots in four games. He sits seventh in the NHL in scoring. The talented forward is looking for his first 100-point campaign of his career, and he has looked sharp this season.
-
Gavin McKenna LW | TOR
Maple Leafs' Gavin McKenna: First NHL goal and assist
McKenna scored his first NHL goal and got his first assist in a 5-4 overtime win over the Predators on Tuesday.
McKenna became the youngest Maple Leafs player at the time of his first point (18 years, 290 days) since Drake Berehowsky (18 years, 280 days) on Oct. 10, 1990. McKenna's goal was a beauty -- he snapped an absolute rocket in the top corner past Juuse Saros at 14:31 of the second period. And he was named the game's first star in front of a capacity crowd (18,792). McKenna has a bright future in front of him.

Auston Matthews C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Massive four-point game including winner
Matthews scored a goal and added three assists in a 5-4 overtime win over the Predators.
His goal came with 14 seconds left to deliver the win. Matthews earned the praise of new head coach Jim Hiller after the game: "I thought he's been really good our whole camp, he's been working on every puck, but tonight for me, he was a little bit different tonight. From just a pure hockey perspective, to appreciate his game tonight, it was really a special night for him. I'm not even talking about the goal, just his game start to finish." Matthews is looking to rebound from an injury-related decline in output last season. He had 27 goals and 53 points in 60 games. So far, so good.

Jake Allen G | NJ
Devils' Jake Allen: OK but not great in loss
Allen made 26 saves in a 5-3 loss to Utah on Tuesday.
Allen has started 1-1-0 with a 3.47 GAA and .875 save percentage. He has been OK, but not great so far, just like the entire team. Head coach Sheldon Keefe showed his frustration post-game: "The goals against, they weren't even structure-related but habit-related. Stopping the puck, don't expose good ice, don't get beat back to your net. Very fundamental things that we just have to do a better job of." Allen isn't the kind of goalie who can carry a team that struggles, so the whole squad needs to clean up its game before his fantasy value can climb.

Luke Evangelista RW | NJ
Devils' Luke Evangelista: First two goals with new team
Evangelista scored two goals in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Mammoth.
The goals were his first as a member of the Devils; both were deflections, including one on the power play. Evangelista has two goals, one assist and nine shots in three games so far, and he could deliver a career year skating with Nico Hischier and Timo Meier. His previous best came last season in Nashville when he put up 56 points (12 goals, 44 assists, 17 power-play points) in 81 games.
-
Karel Vejmelka G | UTA
Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Strong start to season
Vejmelka made 30 saves in a 5-3 win over the Devils on Tuesday.
He has started three of Utah's first four games, going 2-1-0 with one shutout, a 2.02 GAA and .913 save percentage. Vejmelka finished second in the NHL last season with 38 wins in 63 starts, and he is poised to carry a similarly heavy workload this year. His fantasy value will skyrocket if he can maintain the kind of ratios he's delivering so far. Last year, he finished with a 2.75 GAA and .897 save percentage.
-
MacKenzie Weegar D | UTA
Mammoth's MacKenzie Weegar: First goal of season
Weegar scored a goal, picked up six PIM and blocked six shots in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Devils.
The goal was his first of the year. Weegar is looking for redemption this season after tallying just 28 points, including four goals, in 60 games last season. He did have 175 blocks in 2025-26, and he's already delivered in that category -- Weegar has 16 in four games this season. Mikhail Sergachev left Tuesday's game with an undisclosed injury, and Weegar may be called on to pick up the slack if the absence is prolonged.

Alex Laferriere RW | LA
Kings' Alex Laferriere: Scores lone goal in loss
Laferriere scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers.
Laferriere opened the scoring late in the first period, but his goal was all the Kings could get past Jacob Markstrom. Through three games this season, Laferriere has a goal, two assists, five shots on net, 11 hits and a plus-1 rating. He's occupying a top-six role and seeing power-play time. The 24-year-old should offer well-rounded depth production for fantasy managers.
