  • Egor Chinakhov RW | PIT

    Penguins' Egor Chinakhov: Produces assist

Chinakhov notched an assist in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Chinakhov has played in just two of the Penguins' last six games due to lower-body issues. He has a point in each of those contests, which suggests his early struggles on offense could be coming to a close if he can stay in the lineup. He's at four points, 14 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through nine appearances.

  • Rickard Rakell RW | PIT

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Tallies shorthanded goal

Rakell scored a shorthanded goal on three shots, added three hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Rakell started the year cold, but he has three goals and an assist over his last four contests. He's involved on both sides of special teams while seeing top-line minutes at even strength, so it's no surprise he's gotten his offense going. The 33-year-old tends to run a little streaky with his scoring. He has three goals, three helpers, 33 shots on net, 15 hits, 12 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating across 13 appearances.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Finds twine in overtime loss

Karlsson scored a goal, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Mammoth.

Karlsson continued his steady start to the season, which has seen him get on the scoresheet in 10 of 13 games. The veteran blueliner has a total of two goals, 11 assists, 21 shots on net, eight blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 13 appearances. Karlsson's early production is a positive sign that this won't be the year his numbers decline, so he should be a good contributor for his fantasy managers.

  • Mammoth's Mikhail Sergachev: Nets game-winner in overtime

Sergachev scored a goal on two shots and blocked five shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Penguins.

Logan Cooley provided some heroics with a hat trick in regulation, but it was Sergachev who sealed the win for the Mammoth. This tally extended Sergachev's point streak to six games (two goals, five assists). He's been excellent over the first month of the season with four goals, 12 helpers, 34 shots on net, 19 blocked shots, eight hits, 15 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 14 appearances. Sergachev has never come particularly close to sustaining a point-per-game pace, but he could put together a career year if Utah's offense remains strong.

  • Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Goal streak at three games

Mateychuk scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes.

Mateychuk is on an impressive run for a young defenseman, scoring in three straight games. His offense was a little stagnant early in the campaign, but he's now at four goals, one assist, 23 shots on net, 19 blocked shots, six PIM and a minus-2 rating over 11 appearances. As long as he stays in the top four and on a power-play unit, Mateychuk should be productive enough to help as a depth blueliner in fantasy, though he also carries the upside of youth.

  • Hurricanes' Jordan Martinook: Tallies opening goal

Martinook scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Martinook opened the scoring at 15:51 of the first period. He's earned a goal and three helpers over his last four contests. The 34-year-old winger remains firmly in a third-line role this year. That's a spot that has seen him rack at least 29 points in four straight regular seasons. He's off to a positive start with two goals, five helpers, 23 shots, 21 hits, six PIM, six blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 15 outings this season.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Buries goal Thursday

Jankowski scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Jankowski didn't score in his return from a four-game absence due to a lower-body injury. He was able to get back on the scoresheet in his second game back. He's returned to a third-line role which has proved fruitful for the 32-year-old since Jordan Staal (calf) went down. Jankowski has seven goals, one assist, 17 shots on net, six hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 11 appearances. Don't expect this level of offense to last all season -- Jankowski has never had more than 17 goals or 32 points in a season, and those marks came from his first two campaigns.

  • Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Tallies in Thursday's win

Stankoven scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

Stankoven has had a nose for the net lately with five goals and an assist over his last five games. The 23-year-old continues to occupy a top-six role for the Hurricanes, who are rolling right along during their title defense. Stankoven is up to nine goals, three assists, 46 shots on net and a plus-11 rating over 15 appearances. His 19.6 shooting percentage is much higher than usual, but he'll likely make up for the eventual decline in efficiency by producing more helpers.

  • Logan O'Connor RW | COL

Avalanche's Logan O'Connor: Not at practice Friday

O'Connor wasn't present for Friday's practice session while tending to a personal matter, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.

O'Connor wasn't at practice Friday ahead of the funeral for his father, Myles, in the evening. It's not yet clear whether O'Connor will be available for Saturday's game against the Flames, but a better idea of his status could come into focus based on his participation in morning skate. O'Connor has appeared in each of Colorado's last three games, and he's been held scoreless with six PIM and a hit while averaging 13:24 of ice time.

  • Blues' Colton Parayko: Not practicing Friday

Parayko didn't participate in Friday's practice session after missing some time during Thursday's win over the Bruins due to an undisclosed injury, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

While Parayko ultimately finished Thursday's matchup, he was out for a portion of the first period due to an apparent injury. It's not yet clear whether his injury will impact his status for the Blues' upcoming four-game road trip, which begins Saturday in Detroit. If Parayko is forced to miss time, Quinton Burns is a candidate to see an increased role for St. Louis.
