  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Tending twine Friday

Binnington will defend the road crease against Dallas on Friday, Andy Strickland of FanDuel Sports Network reports.

Binnington has struggled over his last three starts, going 0-3-0 with a 5.03 GAA and .828 save percentage during that time. He made a home start against the Stars on Oct. 18 and turned aside 18 of 19 shots (.947 save percentage) in a 3-1 victory.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Exits ice first Friday

Ersson was the first goalie to leave the ice Friday, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes on the road versus Colorado.

Ersson will make his sixth straight appearance in the crease, having gone 1-2-1 in his last five outings with a 3.60 GAA and .859 save percentage. While the 26-year-old backstop continues to see the bulk of the workload for the Flyers, the impending return of Dan Vladar (lower body) figures to see Ersson relegated to the backup role once again.

  • Filip Chytil C | VAN

Canucks' Filip Chytil: Ready to rock

Chytil (upper body) will return to the lineup Friday against New Jersey, per Randip Janda of Sporrtsnet.ca.

Chytil last played Oct. 19 against Washington, seeing only 5:02 of ice time before leaving the game with his upper-body injury. He missed the last 44 games. Chytil will center Brock Boeser and Drew O'Connor on the second line. Chytil has three goals in six games this season.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Not starting after all

Wolf won't start Friday's home game against the Capitals, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

A previous report from Steinberg suggested that Wolf would draw the start against Washington, but Devin Cooley will ultimately tend the twine Friday. The two goalies have alternated starts over the past two weeks, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Wolf return to the crease at home against the Ducks on Sunday.

  • Devin Cooley G | CGY

Flames' Devin Cooley: Drawing start against Washington

Cooley will start Friday's home game against the Capitals, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

A previous report from Steinberg indicated that Dustin Wolf would draw the start Friday, but Cooley will ultimately draw the start, continuing the timeshare that the two netminders have had over the past two weeks. Across his last three starts, Cooley has gone 2-0-1 with a 1.33 GAA and .952 save percentage.

  • Senators' Stephen Halliday: Pots first career goal

Halliday scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Predators.

Halliday was recalled Thursday from AHL Belleville to fill in while David Perron (groin) is on the shelf. This is Halliday's third stint with the big club this season, and he could be with the team through the Olympic break. His goal Thursday was his first in the NHL to go with six assists, 21 shots on net, 23 hits and a minus-2 rating over 19 appearances as a rookie this season.

  • Dylan Holloway LW | STL

    Blues' Dylan Holloway: Undergoing MRI

Holloway has returned to St. Louis to have an MRI on his ankle and won't play in Friday's game against Dallas, Andy Strickland of FanDuel Sports Network reports.

Holloway returned from an ankle injury Sunday in Edmonton but didn't suit up for Tuesday's matchup in Winnipeg. He's apparently still bothered by his ankle issue that previously forced him to miss 15 games, and he'll be sidelined for at least one more game while undergoing additional imaging. It's not yet clear when the 24-year-old will be able to return to action.

  • Predators' Luke Evangelista: Offers pair of helpers

Evangelista notched two assists, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Senators.

Evangelista had a hand in the Predators' first two goals in their comeback win. He's earned a goal and five helpers during a four-game point streak. For the season, the 23-year-old playmaker is up to seven goals, 37 points (12 on the power play), 109 shots on net and a plus-10 rating through 49 appearances, mainly in a top-six role.

  • Cole Smith LW | LV

Predators' Cole Smith: Fills empty net

Smith scored an empty-net goal on three shots and added six hits in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Senators.

Smith has two goals over his last six games. The 30-year-old has started to receive more middle-six opportunities thanks to his strong defensive work and physical play. He's at six goals, two assists, 45 shots on net, 97 hits, 25 PIM and a minus-6 rating over 31 outings. Smith is likely to be limited to the third line at best, but he can provide a boost to hits and PIM in deep fantasy formats.

  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Contributes goal in comeback win

Marchessault scored a goal on five shots and added four hits in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Senators.

This was Marchessault's first point in three games since he returned from a lower-body injury that cost him 14 contests. The 35-year-old has slotted onto the third line, so as not to disrupt a fairly strong top six. Marchessault is now at eight goals, 11 points, 67 shots on net, 45 hits and a minus-20 rating through 31 appearances this season, which is likely to be his worst since 2015-16, when he was just breaking into the NHL.
