Ethen Frank C | WAS
Capitals' Ethen Frank: Two points in Monday's loss
Frank scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.
The 27-year-old winger continues to take advantage of the absence of Tom Wilson (lower body). Since Wilson was injured Jan. 3, Frank has stepped into a top-six role and responded with five goals and seven points in nine games, including one tally and one helper on the power play. Wilson appears close to a return, so Frank's surge of fantasy value could be close to an end.

Charlie Lindgren G | WAS
Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Buried by Avs
Lindgren made 39 saves in Monday's 5-2 loss to Colorado.
The Capitals were outshot 44-24 on the afternoon, but Lindgren did his best to keep things close until the Avs finally pulled away in the third period. The veteran netminder has given up at least three goals in six straight starts dating back to Dec. 16, going 2-3-1 over that stretch with a 3.81 GAA and an .881 save percentage.

Ducks' Troy Terry: Classified as day-to-day
Head coach Joel Quenneville said Monday that Terry (upper body) is day-to-day and could play on the team's upcoming road trip, Patrick Present of The Hockey News reports.
Anaheim's road trip begins Wednesday in Colorado and ends in Vancouver on Jan. 29. Terry was placed on injured reserve Friday and has missed six straight games. The 28-year-old has banked 13 goals, 42 points (nine on the power play), 103 shots on net and a plus-6 rating over 43 appearances in 2025-26.

Kirill Kaprizov LW | MIN
Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Top 10 in scoring
Kaprizov picked up two assists in a 6-3 win over Toronto on Monday.
Kaprizov has five helpers in the last two games. His 57 points (25 goals, 32 assists) put him 10th in the NHL in scoring. Those 25 goals put him in a multi-player tie for seventh in goals. Kaprizov also has 173 shots in just 50 games. At this rate, he'll come close to equaling his career high (289) set in 2020-21.

Quinn Hughes D | MIN
Wild's Quinn Hughes: Four points in last two games
Hughes put up two assists Monday in a 6-3 win over Toronto.
Hughes has two multi-point games in a row, and 13 points, including 12 assists, in nine games since the start of 2026. He's putting up more points in Minny (20 in 18 games) than in Vancouver (23 in 26). Hughes is fifth in the NHL in scoring from the blue line. He's third overall in assists with 39.

John Tavares C | TOR
Maple Leafs' John Tavares: Twelve points in last 14 games
Tavares scored a goal Monday in a 6-3 loss to the Wild. He fired six shots.
His goal came on the power play. Tavares continues to quietly put up points. Since Dec. 23, he has 12 points, including eight assists, in his last 14 games. His six shots equaled the number he had posted in his previous four games combined. Tavares has 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) and 122 shots in 49 games this season.

Auston Matthews C | TOR
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Nineteen points in last 12 games
Matthews had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 loss to Minnesota on Monday.
Matthews moved into fourth place on the Maple Leafs' all-time points list with the goal, which was his 769th career point. He had been tied with Borje Salming (768). Matthews has a three-game goal streak (three goals, two assists) on the go, and he has 19 points, including 11 goals, in his last 12 games. The superstar is back.

Joseph Woll G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Pulled after two periods
Woll allowed five goals on 29 shots in two periods before being replaced by Dennis Hildeby to start the third period of a 6-3 loss to Minnesota.
Minnesota was all over Toronto, and they drove the score up to 5-1 before Woll was relieved. He's had a rough couple of games, giving up 11 goals in two losses (0-1-1). Since Christmas, Woll has gone 5-1-2 in nine starts, but he has allowed four or more goals in five of those starts. It may be a function of fatigue given the heavy workload with Anthony Stolarz (upper body) out, but he's still winning.
-
Filip Gustavsson G | MIN
Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Two wins in a row
Gustavsson made 27 saves on 30 shots in a 6-3 win over Toronto on Monday.
Gustavsson has two wins in a row on the road (Toronto and Buffalo), but with seven goals allowed. He allowed seven goals in his two starts before that (0-1-1). In his nine games before that, Gustavsson had allowed three or more goals just twice in nine starts (7-1-1). It's too soon to think it's a trend, but it bears attention. Jesper Wallstadt is waiting in the wings, and the Wild won't be slow to tap him.

Luke Hughes D | NJ
Devils' Luke Hughes: Hurt in Calgary
Head coach Sheldon Keefe relayed after Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames that Hughes (undisclosed) is going to miss some time, according to Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News.
Hughes was injured during the second period and didn't return to the game. NHL Insider Frank Seravalli reported that it sounds like the initial assessment of Hughes' injury is a dislocated shoulder, but that hasn't been made official by the team. Keefe told the media that Hughes still needs further evaluation and won't be available for the remainder of the Devils' road trip, which concludes Sunday in Seattle. Johnny Kovacevic, who was a healthy scratch Monday, is poised to draw back into the lineup in the second half of the team's back-to-back Tuesday in Edmonton.
