Andersen will get the second half of Carolina's back-to-back after Brandon Bussi played in Friday's 9-1 win over Florida. The 36-year-old Andersen is coming off a 14-save effort in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to Detroit. He has a 6-10-3 record with a 3.37 GAA and an .863 save percentage through 19 appearances this season. New Jersey ranks 27th in the league with 2.62 goals per game this campaign.

Carrier has five goals, 10 points, 14 PIM and 91 hits in 38 outings in 2025-26. He has also missed Carolina's past three games. When Carrier is healthy, he will likely serve on the fourth line.

Washington sits 11th in the league with 3.23 goals per game this season.

Grubauer is expected to start on the road against Utah on Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Grubauer has a 9-3-3 record, 2.29 GAA and .922 save percentage in 17 appearances in 2025-26. He stopped 23 of 26 shots en route to a 3-2 loss to the Devils in his last start Wednesday. Utah has won five of its past six games while averaging 3.33 goals per game across that stretch.

Mackey was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Saturday.
Mackey was a healthy scratch for Saturday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia after being recalled from the minors Friday. He still hasn't played yet in the NHL this season, but he has two goals, seven points and 54 PIM in 32 outings with Hartford in 2025-26.

Vejmelka will be between the pipes for Saturday's home matchup against Seattle.
Vejmelka has won his last five outings while stopping 125 of the 132 shots he has faced. He has a 22-11-2 record with a 2.53 GAA, a .901 save percentage and one shutout through 36 appearances this campaign. Seattle is tied for 25th in the league this season with 2.74 goals per game.

Hameenaho was summoned from AHL Utica on Saturday.
Colton White was sent to the minors in a corresponding move after clearing waivers. Hameenaho has nine goals and 21 points in 33 AHL appearances in 2025-26. The 21-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut yet, but he might suit up Saturday versus Carolina. However, it's also possible New Jersey will opt to dress 11 forwards and seven defensemen, or insert Juho Lammikko into the lineup.
